Went by the shop for a repair on a chair, Fred couldn’t have been any nicer. He fixed my chair and was very reasonable. I will be happy to go back for any upholstery work I need in the future and will recommend him to family and friends.

Alverson’s Custom Upholstery/Alverson’s Fabric and Furniture was a GREAT experience. Fred (owner/​upholsterer) was very knowledgeable and offered advice when we asked for help. He steered us into the right direction… ie to pick a fabric of certain texture/​thickness for durability, style fabric in conjunction with our classic dining room style… Even though he was busy, he did a rush for us when we told him that we were hoping to have our dining room chairs reupholstered for my son’s high school graduation. He has thousands of fabric to choose from which is good that his inventory is so large. Fred is a pleasure to do business with… his professionalism, expertise and warm personality is a breath of fresh air! Oh… I have to mention his prices. Although this is my first time reupholstering my dining room chairs, his prices seemed very fair for the quality work he did. Absolutely no complaints here… only praises!

Fred’s work is simply awesome. He helped me choose an appropriate fabric for our window seat cushions a few years ago (which are predominantly occupied by our FIVE dogs :)). They’ve held up through the years of use and are still going strong! Heading back to him to start on my next project. Such a terrific find in Stockton! Highly, highly recommended.

Fred Alverson upholstered our dining chairs and they look fabulous. He then upholstered a 60 year old platform rocker than had been my grandmothers. It looked and sat better than new. We then had him redo a small occasional chair that my husband wanted to get rid of because it was so uncomfortable. Fred redid the seat and now it is a great little chair. He guides you on suitable fabric. He gets it done in the time frame he gives you. And he is reasonably priced considering you get a custom piece.
