My 16 year-​old son got a car for Christmas and of course the first thing he wanted was to buy a new stereo for it. After checking out a few local places in the north Stockton area (& Unilocal reviews) we decided on Express Car Audio. I went back-​and-​forth to the different stores before buying to learn a little more each time.
I’m not a «car» guy but I am a sensible consumer and do not give out Unilocal or business recommendations easily which is why I’m taking the time to give credit to the owner and business of Express Car Audio.
After learning about stereo products & features & comparing apples to apples w other stereo shops, the owner gave us a good deal on a stereo. He also gave us the best deal on replacing the motor for the auto door lock and not using the «cheap» parts.
The owner guarantees the install and explained that while it is a «standard» guarantee within the industry, he won’t delay the fix/​repair for weeks (or even months) as a local competitor down Hammer Lane has been known to do. The install was done in the time-​frame stated, no unexpected «issues» where the price had to be increased/​inflated and it has been about over a month since the work has been done and no complaints or issues at all.
In an industry that doesn’t have the highest reputation, it is nice to know there is a respectable and trusted business like Express Car Audio.

You wanted $ 220 for an alarm with a kill switch. Hyped it up like I was getting a deal because the normal price was $ 270. Got a vibe that something was sleazy and decided I should shop around. I got the same thing done for $ 150 at Pacific Audio and the dudes are cool down there.

Great service and did a great job installing my stereo and setting me up with an amazing speaker system! Also every time I’ve had an issue (burned out fuse on the amp, new cables for the amp) they’ve resolved things quickly and for free. Their after support had been nothing short of excellent and I totally recommend Express Car Audio

I have written about Express Car Audio in the past and the reviews fell victim to the Unilocal filter. I am hopeful this one will not suffer the same fate.
I recently had a double din stereo installed in our 2000 F150 truck. While this might not seem that amazing, the double din stereos do not readily fit in this truck. It required the dash to be cut as well as other customization. To their credit, the owner and installer made it clear to me that such custom work was needed and that if done, the stereo or one like it would be my only option if I decided to change the stereo in the future. Simply stated the OEM radio could not go back in.
After some thought I agreed. I knew the quality of the work at Express Car Audio from three stereo installations in the past (as well as other work they had done [e.g. power door locks, under carriage lights and CB radio installation] on my Jeep and other family cars) and felt confident that all would be well.
In fact, the installation was amazing. It looks like a factory install. Recently I visited my Ford dealership for some service and the service technician asked me about the installation. He was highly impressed with the work knowing the extensive work needed to make this radio fit. I should also share that the original quote was honored by the owner although it took about two hours longer than originally planned. I would recommend Express Car Audio to any and all who seek quality and integrity in a business. I will be back to them in the near future for a backup camera. I am confident that it will be another pleasurable experience.

I live in LA now… but when I know I need work done on my stereo/​audio/​alarm system, I squeeze it in on a visit up north to see my family. It just makes sense to have people you trust work on your car. I’ve been going here for 10+ years… and I’ve had more than one car that needed attention. Why change a good thing just cause I moved to LA? Every time, the customer service is spot on and the knowledge and advice is more than reassuring. Thanks, guys… see you soon! ;)

They do great work, professional. Only thing is they will make it seem as if you are getting a great deal, but because I didn’t do the research they pretty much over charged me because they knew I knew nothing about this stuff. Just make sure you know your stuff before walking in here. They hype up the fact that you’re getting a deal until you look things up and realize, wow they got over, big time!!!

Great service and prices. I had a stereo installed for my daughter this morning. Very quick and clean installation and the installer took the time to show my daughter how to use all of the functions and synced her phone to it. Thank you.

These guys know there stuff. I have done business w them since they opened. I have done complete systems to auto start and they get it right the first time. I just bought a flip up in dash w bluetooth dvd sd card usb a/​v. It’s an awesome unit. I’m loving the hands free phone calls. Very reasonable on price for brand name equipment. You can go to a cheaper shop with knock off brand but you will pay for it in the end. To sum up, excellent service and great professional installers. I highly recommend them!!!

I’ve been coming for years! These guys do great work. Put in a brand new radio and sound system with remote control, hasn’t failed me. I always bring my car here for work.

I went in as I had driven by the place a thousand times and meant to go in. There prices were good, their service was fantastic. They had my vehicle done when they said they would and they explained how to work the new equipment. They were friendly and approachable. I could not be happier with the experience. I will go back and refer my friends.

Express car audio hooked up my 2011 xterra with an awesome stereo. They customized the equipment to sound good in my vehicle. I have reffered friends to this shop and they are happy with the service just like me. I have asked express car audio to work on my other car too. The prices are competitive but their customer service blows the competition out of the water. If I were you and I need audio or alarm work done I would hive express car audio the business.

Don’t be fooled by their reputation as professionals. These guys are some pure hustlers. The old white guy knows a lot and talks like he’s giving you a great deal, and the asian guy hypes up the deal and makes you feel all comfortable. My experience included paying almost twice as much for a 4-​gauge wiring kit. It’s my fault, I displayed my lack of knowledge early on by implying I wanted a higher gauge using higher numbers which they surely took advantage of. Then when I tried to leave to shop around, that’s when they kicked into clutch mode. Learn from me and make sure you do your research before stepping into a store like this as you will not find a good deal.

I have had decent experiences here before but today was a disaster. I needed some speakers and an amp installed… I was in town and hoped they could take care of me. The install price was a tad high but I figured they were professionals so I went ahead with the install. They said to give them a few hours to finish it. I came back after a couple hours… they said it would be 45 minutes more… I came back after a hour and a half and the guy said he needed another hour. I am sitting in their store now 5 hours after they started waiting for it to be finished. I highly doubt I would ever come back here again.
