I Would Like to Start This off By Saying Im New to all of This and Dont Do it Regularly. And By «This» I Mean Both Unilocaling and Gym. Ive Been a Member With Inshape for a Few Years Now and Ive Never Been a Regular. Ive Been to almost Every Inshape Here in Town and By Far This Location on Quail Lakes is My Favorite, and Here are My Reasons:
The Place is always Clean With Two Staff Members always Visible on The Floor.
The Machines always Work Right and are Well Taken Care of. (I Think I’ve Only Seen one Machine out of Order Ever Here and It Was only For a Day)
The Place is Never OverCrowded and Generally Speaking You Really Never Have to Wait to Use a Machine.
And Last But Not Least, The Staff is Amazing. Although Ive Only Been Here Like Two Months They actually Remember My Name and Help With all The Little Things That Matter (Like Bringing Me a Towel to The Treadmill When I Needed one and Called Them From My Cellphone to Bring Me One So I Dont Have to Stop My Run, «Thanks Taylor»)
The Combination of all of These Little Things amount to alot in My Book, They Help Me Keep Coming Back So I Can Continue to Work on Me.

I love this gym I try and go every early in AM before work, the staff that always checks me is alway very nice. And I love Saturday morning spin class with Amar. His music and up beat spirt keeps me coming back.

I love this gym, it’s clean and isn’t a hassle to use machines. Staff is friendly and helpful if needed. I currently have my entire family on my plan so my kids are able to utilize the daycare. The lady who works with the kids is very nice and my kids took well to her. They managed to get their homework done and then play, while i got in a workout. It does close a bit early at 7 not too bad. My kids can’t use equipment until they are 12 so my oldest is going to be too old for the daycare next year. As there age limits are under 12. The only drawback I have is this gym doesn’t have a tanning bed and I really wish they did. Because I currently use two locations and the one on hammer is less to be desired.

The pool water has been getting higher and higher. It is very difficult to take aqua aerobics when you can’t stand with your head above water. The water is almost to the top of the decorative tiles. Unacceptable.

Since the recent remodel this has been my favorite of the IS clubs for my morning workout. It isn’t too crowded and doesn’t seem to have all socializing machine-​hogs working hard at gossiping like at March Lane.

I recently joined In-​Shape about 3 months ago and attend 5 days a week. Plenty of equipment and cardio machines, love the weight room and extras. Haven’t had chance to use the pool, but looks nice and clean. The manager is very friendly, always says hello, and actively engages the members; the same can be said for the other staff I’ve met. Loved my free personal training session with Reggie — gave some great pointers, fun to talk to, and didn’t oversell it to the point where I felt uncomfortable. If I could afford it, I’d sign up for the sessions, they are very reasonably priced for personal training.
I will agree with previous reviewer that bathrooms not always the cleanest and a little outdated.
I would give this gym 4 – 5 stars if not for the changed childcare hours. I usually attend in the mornings and the hours are now till 11am (not 12pm). Not sure how they can save much money by cutting one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening of a minimum wage worker (or close to it). As a mother, getting to the gym and working out by 11am is tough, even 11:30am would help. Not happy they cut Saturday hours completely. If corporate claims its due to usage, I would disagree. When I pick up my child at 11am, there are consistently 4 – 5 other children there waiting to be picked up. It’s enough of a change that I am considering canceling my membership and going to 24 hour fitness. I hope corporate reads this review and will consider changing the morning hours!

I adore this gym so much I just signed a new contract in March. I love just about everything about it. From the trainers, to the maintence workers, the cardio area, the weights, and the kids club associates. Everyone is helpful, professional, and kind. Sadly, their corporate office won’t handle the concerns of their customers. As of last week they changed their kids club hours (cut an hour daily and all of their weekend hours). Their reasoning was «it was based on member usage, and cost cutting.» Yet this didn’t cut a dime from my costs, nor did they add other services to make up for taking my money while cutting services I use. As a working mom I rely on these services. When contacted they passed me along to the Quail Lakes manager, who was extremely nice and wanted to help, but alas he didn’t have the authority to change anything, it was corporate. I would give 5 stars if they restored their kids club hours or if they would actually handle these grievances themselves instead of throwing their management under the bus. All in all, great gym… but horrible corporate customer service.

It’s an older gym. Some really old machines (esp. on 2nd floor) and the bathrooms are dingy and outdated for sure. The people that work there don’t have any pep in their step. They don’t have the zeal and energy as I’ve noted with the in shape staff on Pershing. This one is closer to my home so I go here but I would say they need some leadership person to come and really «clean up shop.» Makeover from staff to actual gym itself. 2 stars because of towel service and the machine I like is always available so it’s convenient for me in that regard.

I never even went inside here. When I called to ask about my wifes service dog the staff and even the manager (Amber maybe?) were so ridiculously rude and uneducated I figured Id just skip it and keep going to the March Lane location since they dont have a huge attitude problem. The manager especially is horrible, condescending and snotty. If you like dealing with management and staff who will show you utter contempt feel free to go here but otherwise I recommend March Lane.

I am changing my review from a 2 to a 4 star. Since my negative experience, I spoke with their new manager Robin, who seems to truly appreciate the feedback. I was impressed with her direct and honest approach. As I said before, some are rude. But others are very good, and I believe Robin will have success there. This was my best manager experience I can recall. I have been back since with good service, and I plan to continue to go back.

Good place to workout. sales guys are very rude. Specually the black sales guy. Bald guy. As I was walking away after getting a pass he talks crap about me and how he didnt want to give me a pass. IF HE DOESNT WANT TO WOK THEN WHY SHOW UP. Management needs to check their workers but im sure management is the same.

It’s a good gym to go to, and their classes are fun, though they do get super packed. I loved the cardio class. It is fast paced, but you can stand in the back while you learn to get the routine down. HOWEVER– it is very uncomfortable when you look up and there are men lined up against the window looking down while you’re trying to dance the routines…

Ive been coming to this location since 2011 when club fit closed. I absolutely love this gym… one of the best in stockton. but of course that’s my opinion. this gym has a sauna room for men and women (seperate rooms), lots of machines, live work out sessions with real instructors and they’re open until 11pm… 2 bad they’re not 24 hours, that would be awesome.

They need to hire one person that can concentrate on the bathrooms only. In one occasion there was threw up on the floor the bathroom was so smelly and it was summer time I went to work out and came back and it was still there.
The floors are constantly wet making it a hazard and yesterday while being there I encounter a bunch of hair on the floor it was nasty. Paper towels on the floor and the toilets leave little to be desired.
The rest of the gym is kept clean
Management needs to visit the bathrooms at the Tracy In Shape in N Tracy BLVD I have membership to go to all gyms so I go to both depending on where I am that day.

Out of the 5 In-​Shapes in Stockton. This is my favorite location. I hear from a lot of people that this place is way to crowded. But if you can. Try to come after 7pm to 11Pm. Not very busy at all. 4−7Pm is the peak time here. It’s crazy. I come in the morning and it’s not to bad. What’s great about this place too. it has a child care place. So you can drop off the kids 13 & under.

The Quail Lakes In-​Shape was renovated a year ago, and it made a big difference. The nasty indoor hot tub is gone, the pool area is cleaner, and the outdoor hot tub is always well maintained.
The equipment is generally clean and in good working order, and the classes are generally adequately taught. I would say nothing is superior here, but by Stockton standards, it’s about as good as one could expect.
The staff are friendly, there are lots of options for fitness, and the fee is reasonable, IF you actually go and work out regularly. My main complaint is that the women’s locker room isn’t as clean as I would prefer, but it is OK.
