I absolutely can not say enough good about the two different men that came to my house last week … First guy, James came as an emergency call … He was professional and informative!!! Did the job!!!
But as this is an older house and new to us we decided to check into the reasoning for the back up … Especially with 50 people invited to my grandson’s birthday the next weekend … can you imagine? Well Ken came … he went under the house and did a thorough inspection … then in plain simple English he explained exactly what he found and explained why it would /​could cause problems in the future.
I have to tell you that Ken kept me informed through out the process and SHOWED the pipes that were removed and yes they needed to be … Ken was EXTREMELY clean and neat … he protected my home as though it was his mothers or worse my mothers! When he was done you could not tell that I had anyone there … I guess I should mention that the access to the crawl space is in the front bedroom so he had to really crawl through the muck … Not a speck of dirt left behind … Can’t say the same for the county inspector!
I definitely would recommend for any plumbing issues!!! Seriously CALL THEM!

Another extremely dissatisfied customer who would like to give less than zero stars. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! We’re up to over $ 10,500 and issues continue to come up. Our house is virtually destroyed, but that is not the real issue. The real issue is the numerous mistakes they make and their unwillingness to own their mistakes. There’s always excuses and reasons that they think I’m going to be dumb enough to believe. They purchase the wrong parts, the wrong size parts, and advise you to buy a part that a faucet doesn’t need. I originally called them out because we thought something was wrong with our hot water heater. That is where the nightmare began. We were told to call leak specialist as we probably had a broken pipe leaking under the slab. We did call and it was found that we had a leak. Called Roto-​Rooter back to have them come out to do the job. That was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done. After a week of them having to come out every day, cutting holes in sheet rock to replumb one section of the house, discovering that there was still a leak somewhere, therefore, the rest of the house needed to be replumbed through the walls and over the ceiling to the tune of another almost $ 7,000 on top of the first $ 3,600, with issues along the way, suddenly the shower in the master bath didn’t work. They reluctantly fixed it, but not really. Hot water was not coming out of the shower and there was something wrong with the faucet. Over the week-​end my husband fixed it himself. Then the kitchen faucet didn’t work. They told me that I needed to purchase a new cartridge for the faucet. I ordered it off Amazon and it arrived the next day. It was put on, but that did not solve the problem. Again, my husband worked on it all day Sunday and found the sprayer to be clogged with dirt. We never needed to purchase the $ 53.00 cartridge. When they estimated the second part of the job, they stated it would be cheaper and faster if my son-​in-​law could cut the holes in the walls in advance so they wouldn’t have to do it. I told them it was too last minute and that he had plans and would not be able to come over to do it that night. So, they created the estimate. My son-​in-​law surprised us and came over to do the work. He spent over 3 hours working on the walls to cut the holes where they needed to be cut and large enough that the job would be easy for them. When they came out they were surprised to see that the two day job would now only be one. However, at the end of the day, I was presented with an invoice that was about $ 600 more than the original invoice when it took them only 1 day instead of 2 days and they didn’t have to cut the holes in the walls of the remainder of the house. When I brought it to their attention, they didn’t want to budge and came up with all kinds of excuses why it was more. I told them I would pay, but I was going to fight it and get an attorney to assist. He decided to lower the price back to the original estimate, which really should have been lowered even more due to the money and time saved with my son-​in-​law doing the work. Then I took a shower in the hall bathroom and that water wouldn’t get hot!!! My husband fixed that issue too because we didn’t want to argue with them again. It was always either our fault, or they didn’t do it, or it is supposed to be that way, or any number of things that made it a real chore to deal with them at all. When I went to get water out of the refrigerator door, and the water wouldn’t come out, then noticed the ice maker wasn’t making ice, that was the last straw!!! It worked before they replumbed the house and now there is NO WATER RUNNING TO THE REFRIGERATOR! My husband called them again and the guy «Randy» came out. Again, they want to blame someone or something else! He apparently told my husband that the house was plumbed backwards and the refrigerator had been hooked up to the hot water line. Does he think we are stupid? We’ve lived here since 1991! Our refrigerator line has worked forever. We’ve had two refrigerators and no problem with either one! The bottom line is — it worked before and now it doesn’t work! We can’t even put our house back together again until they finish the job. When you replumb a house and collect over $ 10,500, the water in that house should work! DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! They will rip you off and leave your house not only in a mess, but in an almost unlivable condition! They will argue with you all the way and make you feel that it is somehow either your fault, or the house was built or plumbed wrong! It is a good thing that I was home the entire time (on spring break due to being an educator), I took tons of pictures and videos along the way, and have a chronicle of events and journal entries for this mess! It’s been 5 weeks!

Stockton Roto rooter is great. The plumber that did the repair was very nice, thorough, friendly and explained things in detail. Fair price also. Came through in a pinch for my water leak in my basement

Less than no stars. Clueless and incompetent. 3 times in 6 months and each time, the same old story… it’s our fault… well folks… they didn’t have enough experience to check the pump on the septic system… it needed a new pump motor. They charge bank robber fees and don’t guarantee their work. Josh and Jim and the rest of the Roto Fraud unit will not be there for you except to bilk you out of your money. Go see George at Richards Plumbing. Outstanding and experienced. Do not patronize Roto Rooter… your toilet system will not be the only thing being rooted. See Sarah L article. …same result.

No stars. Called them for plumbing emergency on Friday night. Total cost was $ 506.85. And they had trouble with equipment, had to call someone to help, etc. once work was done he told me that they cannot guarantee their work but would come out next day if problems. Next day we had same problems and called several times and it was several hours before call back. I was told no guarantee. Had to call different company for repairs — so I basically paid $ 500 for nothing.

We were having issues with tree roots damaging our pipes. Basically, when these guys were called, we were very specific about doing whatever it took to eliminate the «back-​up» problems by replacing whatever pipes needed to be replaced to avoid future problems. $ 2100 and 1 year later we were experiencing the same problems… they didn’t want to help nor offer an explanation. But it seems like this is how this type of industry is structured. Very few offer any guarantees… I called some of their competitors and they are very slimy (no pun intended)… others would offer «free estimates» and they would have you wait for hours and hours for them to show up and then when they would show up, they tell you that there is a charge for estimates… apparently they will come over for free, but they won’t do anything besides show up and try to «upsell» you.
I actually told this guy who was more of a «salesman» than someone who was there to give us an honest quote that I know the sales games… I was in sales for many years… He was one of those that tried the tactic where he says «Let me call my manager and see if there’s anything we can do for you» … as if I’m special and should feel honored because they were going to give me a free estimate after I was promised one over the phone. Gee, thanks… I owe you so much for doing this «just for me»… because I’m so special.
Anyway, I don’t do business with those types and neither should anyone else… In all fairness, it wasn’t this company, but I had to rant about many in their industry… maybe because a few do this, the others go along and do the same. I don’t know.
Just be careful with all of these guys. Have them sign that whatever work they will perform will eliminate ALL the surrounding problems for an extended period of time… not 6 months like these guys. Get it in writing. For such a pricy job, you would expect better results.

Josh has been to our house three times and has impressed me every time. The guy is honest, trustworthy reliable and a hard worker! Guys like this give Roto-​Rooter a good name. I would recommend him to anyone!

Roto Rooter came out to clean the drains at my house, and did an exemplary job. The technician worked efficiently and rapidly, and had the job done well within the one-​hour minimum charge. He was courteous and professional. I am extremely satisfied with the service provided.
