Not a very good start to the day when the staff checks someone in using the wrong patient’s name and records. Nothing like waiting an hour AFTER you discover their mistake.
As it turns out, from the questions they’ve asked, they’ve been using the wrong patient’s records for quite some time. This explains why they’ve thought my wife needed (or has) a pacemaker.
It is terrifying to think that they’ve made this mistake all along. What happened to all the cardiac testing that they did of my wife? What of the dozens of blood tests they’ve done of my wife? Have they prescribed her the wrong medications? Have they prescribed the right treatment? Have they prescribed the right medications? Have they prescribed the right treatment? Has my wife even had the correct diagnosis?
This is the same organization that lost all of my wife’s pathology specimens after her extensive cancer surgery, leaving us with the Sword of Damocles hanging over our heads, not knowing how far her cancer had spread.
No one wants to admit a damn thing because of their liability, rather than admitting a mistake. They’d rather sit in silence — EVEN IF IT KILLS THE PATIENT, judging by their lack of response all these years after we found out that all my wife’s surgical specimens were lost after she had been found to have advanced Stage III uterine cancer. (Even when they realized that the dozens of specimens — that were harvested to detect how far her cancer had spread — had been destroyed or list, they’ve sat in silence, refusing to take ANY ACTION WHATSOEVER to correct the error and do whatever it takes to safeguard my wife’s life.) When I last asked Sutter Gould executives about this matter, their reply: «What do you want us to do about it?»
The medical group is a goat-​rope. Unless it’s an emergency, go to a different medical group. You’re taking your life in hands, placing it in jeopardy, as. Sutter-​Gould patient.
