Description

Specialties

Spiaggetta, our namesake, means «little beach» in Italian. When you’re here, it sure feels like you’re on a little beach in Italy though. We go through great lengths to ensure an authentic experience, from hand making our own pastas, to sticking to traditional Italian kitchen rules when we source only the best, freshest local ingredients for their flavor. The Tarantino family excitedly welcomes you to see what real Italian food and hospitality is like, and invites you to spend a night in their dining room in the same way a close friend would host a dinner party. We’ll expertly prepare delicious Branzino or serve our handmade gnocchi as if we were trying to impress our mothers.

Italian hospitality extends beyond the plate. Owner Marco is always at the restaurant (you wouldn’t invite people to your home if you weren’t there right?) and will be the person to seat you. Throughout the night he diligently does his rounds, making sure that all of his guests are having the perfect experience.

At Spiaggetta, you’re always assured of three things: fresh fish, handmade past and Italian hospitality. We can’t wait to seat you!

History

Established in 2012.

Marco Tarantino was born in Rome and spent his summers as a child in the coastal citiy of Ladispoli. Marco and his brothers worked on the docks, so when the boats came back from fishing, they pulled the boats back to shore so the merchants could pick out their daily selection. During his Italian military service, he spent three years in Bracciano, a town famous for its medieval castle and the volcanic lake. In Bracciano he learned the rustic cuisine of the roman countryside. In 1983, Marco moved to the US and began working in several restaurants while completing his B.A. at St. Joseph’s University. He has been involved with four restaurants since 1985. Spiaggetta, opened in 2012, is a family-owned seafood trattoria, where he brings expertise, knowledge, and delicious food to the table.
