Every cheesecake flavor has been better than the last. Keep it up Tracy! The push pops are an excellent idea! If you see Tracy’s Tasties and an Atlanta Food Event, you must stop by her truck. She has sweets for every tooth!

Y’all know me! You know how much I loathe writing negative reviews, but I’ve never been more willing to do so than today. As I was sitting enjoying a wonderful lobster roll on Food Truck Friday @ Lawrenceville Lawn, a sweet little elderly lady came and sat near me. She walked with a cane and a limp and although I didn’t know her, she greeted everyone around her as she eased her way into one of the permanent park chair and tables. There was a free summer concert happening at 7pm, but the food trucks began serving early goer’s @ 5pm, so many of us were lucky to have found seating. Suddenly and out of nowhere this elderly woman begins showing signs of complete distress and another park patron came running to see what was the matter. «Does this smell funny?» she asked as she held up the sweet potato cheesecake she’d just purchased. «I don’t have my glasses on to see this very well, but it really smells bad.» The girl took one sniff and stepped back in disgust. «Oh my God, it has mold on it! Did you eat this?» she asked the women as she looks at the spooned out section of the pie that was missing. The woman goes into a panic worrying about what she had just eaten and that’s when I sprung up from my seat to investigate. I have rarely ever smelled anything more rank and indeed there was VISIBLE mold all over this mini sweet potato pie. In a full rage I grabbed the pie from the women as she tried to stand to take it back and told her I would do it for her. The trucks were about 300 feet away, but I felt like I got there in one step. I presented the pie to the owner and she apologized and immediately refunded the money for the pie. She offered a new one as compensation, but the young girl helping her went through every pie in the cooler examining each and putting it back until she found ONE that looked acceptable. «Are you sure this is good?» I asked«because you didn’t look very confident in any of them.» [I should note she completely bypassed the ones out for sale on the table]. «These are good» she says as the owner of the food truck calls out«All these were just made yesterday, but it must be the heat.» Do I look like a fool lady? I must if you want me to think HEAT spoiled a mini-sweet potato pie and had it smelling like a dead cat in just 24 hours. Not to mention ALL the labels on each of the pies had ink running as though they’ve been sitting in high moisture(wish I had taken a pic of all the labels). Honestly, I was willing to let this go but as I was leaving the park I notice she was still selling these pies to anyone who came up. So to any patron who got sick after eating one of these pies on 7÷31÷2015, you now know why! As for the women who ate it, she was happy to have her money returned but refused to eat the replacement pie they offered. Can you blame her? I hope she is okay.

«I’m gonna kill him! I’m gonna finish him like a cheesecake!» — Pitch Perfect(2012) I’m always thrilled to find a new dessert food truck. Those who know me, know I will always go to the King of Pops cart after eating my food truck goodies, but when I see a sweets truck I have never seen before — I am there! The ladies did a great job enticing us by offering a taste of what they call their«mini-mes» — mini-cheesecakes that look like mini cupcakes in different flavors. I opted to try the chocolate(of course). It was flavorful — more milk chocolate which is not my favorite, but it was very cheesecake-y and delicious anyway. I talked to her about their offerings and she showed off the waffle cone of cheesecake. After eating a large meal — it looked to be TOO much and was covered in pecans which was a no-no for me. They also had a push-pop — frozen cheesecake on a stick. Sold! It was 75 degrees and we were sitting in the harsh sun and a cool treat sounded great! They had an M&M flavor(and chocolate or strawberry). Since I figured the chocolate was mild on the chocolate again, I went for the M&M. I also bought a bottle of water as I figured I needed something to wash down the sweetness I was about to partake in. I was disappointed, unfortunately. It was cold/frozen and yes in a plastic push-pop contraption. However, it tasted of whipped cream, not very sweet, and nothing remotely cheesecake like. In fact, I got no cheese(cream cheese) flavor at all. It was like eating frozen whipped cream, so a bit cloying of fat. The crust was packed with mini chocolate chips which was a nice surprise, but over all, I wouldn’t spend $ 3.50 for this dessert again. Next time, I’ll go for a couple of mini-me’s or hope for a waffle bowl that is tree-nut free. At least I know the non-frozen items actually taste of cheesecake.
