History

Established in 1978.

1978 Shimmering Glass Studio opened in the back of Susan Bayer Fishman’s home in Waterbury, Vermont. the focus was on custom designed Stained glass, blown glass, Tiffany-style lamps, jewelry & kaleidoscope.

In 1993 Susan expanded into a gallery space ½ mile away. Her range of art, jewelry, lighting, glass, & kaleidoscopes grew as well.

In 1995, husband Stephen joined Susan. They purchased nearby Stowe Craft Gallery. Started in 1967, it specialized in pottery, wood, lower priced jewelry and artwork. Soon the galleries merged & featured an even wider diversity of handmade items. Ever changing displays of work from 100s of American artists & craftsmen became what they were known for. Soon a nearby building was leased to allow further expansion into handmade furniture and interior design.

From its beginning to the present day, Stowe Craft Gallery has achieve local, natonal and even international recognition for fun shopping, great service, & unique, finely made products.

Meet the Business Owner

Susan B.

Business Owner

Susan began as a custom stained glass artist working out of the back of her home and raising her 2 children. Her work was much in demand and she eventually expanded into a commercial space and began hiring a few staff.

With an artists attention to detail and a New Hampshire shopkeepers nose to the grindstone work ethic, her business thrived. Now she manages a gallery and an interior design center, both in Stowe village, Vermont.
