Ghost Tours of Strasburg

Terrible customer service, but good enough information (more historical than scary). Not very exciting. Biggest issue is with staff’s unwillingness to fix their mistake and rudeness of management. If you decide to book anyway I would recommend arriving very early (add ten more minutes to what they recommend) to make sure there is time to sort out any issues.

Two words describe the tour. 1) Interesting — this is because it is not just a set of unbelievable ghost stories. The guides tell you alot about the town. 2) Fun — although some of the stories are a little goofy, the best thing is hearing about the town, seeing new parts of town and watching friends and family members react to the stories.

My husband and I take a trip to Lancaster every year. Last year we decided to stay an extra day, and we were planning ahead on our itinerary. A lot of businesses close pretty early, and we were thinking of something we could do at night. I stumbled upon the website for ghost tours of Lancaster/​Strasburg, and I thought this would be something unique.
We met up with the tour guide, and a group of about 15 people, in the front of one of the storefronts in Strasburg, at around 8pm. The tour guide was dressed in old fashioned attire and carried a lantern. It was a brisk fall night, perfect for a ghostly walking tour. The tour was about an hour long, and we walked the entire time. The tour guide would stop every now and then, and tell us different stories that surrounded the spot where we were standing. There was a lot of historical information, some folklore, and some spooky questionable happenings. She was very informative and was very good at what she did. She informed us that she was a teacher by day, so it didn’t surprise me that she was very well versed, and got into her part very well.
The tour ended back at the storefront, and we were offered the opportunity to purchase some books that delved further into more ghost stories. The price wasn’t bad, I think it was around $ 15 a person, and it was a really fun and unique thing to do, when everything else was closed. I would definitely recommend this to others. You don’t even necessarily have to be into the whole «ghost» thing, as, it was a lot of neat historical facts and stories.
