Came here Easter Sunday for some things the family wanted me to pick up. Store doesn’t look clean, or nice and shiny, but it is clean and well kept. Tons of associates here, for the store and the day. Shelves stocked, and found what I needed. Only a 4 star because they really could get a shine and a new coat of paint, but very pleased!

We were without a main dish for Christmas dinner… and didn’t discover it until about 10 pm on Christmas Eve. I called to verify hours for the next day and the person I spoke with also checked their stock of the item I needed to purchase. They had plenty of it and it was on sale. I was very grateful that the store was open on Christmas, although, truly… I feel terrible that people are working on Christmas. If Drug Mart hadn’t been open, we would have had a very small Christmas dinner. But, we would have made it work and been even more grateful that the kind people at DM could be home dining with their families.

Photo Enlargement service is terrible at Prospect Rd Strongsville location. I called twice to speak to someone to ask if their service included 35 mm negative enlargements. No one from photo’s picked up and the manager told me that they did provide that service. I got there and the young woman at desk said she could not help me with cropping from a negative. She directed me to the scanner with my print and said that would be my best choice. I did the cropping and an enhancement. The photo looked acceptable on Drug Mart’s screen. When it printed, it was way too green. The drug mart employee said I’m still responsible to pay for the bad print. I protested and she said too bad. I was glad I only did one test of their system. The employee was not helpful at all and indifferent to my complaint. When I was checking out the college bound cashier was slow and chatty, although there was a line. I told them they were getting a bad review on Unilocal. They didn’t care.

Saturday November 9th, I went to the Drug Mart at Prospect and 82 in Strongsville. Nice store, great service. Bought several things including some chocolate filled Oreos. Thought they tasted funny the first couple of times I ate some. My son and wife also said they tasted strange. Finally looked at the expiration date to find that I had purchased and eaten chocolate Oreos that had an expiration date of July 2013(four months past the expiration date). Whoever you are buying your Oreos from is giving you old food that is expired. You might want to look into that. I will be checking my expiration dates from now on.

I don’t know of a better drug store. And since there now are drug stores every 150 yards across the nation, that is saying something. I cannot count how many times they have saved my bacon for that late night thing, whatever that thing may be. Their purchasing folks do a wonderful job stocking every little thing. Has a deli, drive-through window and pharmacist on site. A good beer selection and wine as well. Krispy Kreme donuts too for the inclined(I’m not a KK fan). I have always had good service there and at other DDM locations. Good prices and open long hours and holidays too. An Ohio company doing it right. I’m not sure what else you could ask for.

Moved to the nearby area in March, and started doing business there probably in April, off & on. While I was initially impressed with the ‘newness’ of the store, that quickly wore off. Price differences between the shelves & registers abound(shades of Kmart!). They sold me a day old lottery ticket! Be wary! Also, I pointed out an insect problem with the boxed donuts to one of the ‘kids’ on the front end one day. He saw them — and left them there… Overall, though, the worst of it is the staff — mainly children in the evenings. The last time I was in, there were 4 clerks in front — average age probably 17 — or younger… I’ve nothing against young folks, and it would’ve been OK if they’d been trained properly. They weren’t. Long story short, it seems to me as though the manager likes hiring kids just a littie more than he should… This doesn’t seem to be an issue in other Drug Mart stores I’ve shopped in. In any case, I’ll not be going back to ANY Drug Mart anytime soon, if at all. Sent a complaint to the company — no response after nearly 2 weeks, and I requested one. NOT the only game in town!

You’re not a die hard Clevelander if you don’t appreciate Drug Mart. They have EVERYTHING. Toys, food, beer, cards, live bait, makeup and the list goes on and on. If you need something — anything — there is a good chance Drug Mart will have it.

I have visited a few times since they have opened. There are a lot of employees that dress sloppy wondering around, carrying on conversations with employees that are working. Why does this bother me? Because if you are waiting at the meat counter and there are 2 people in front of you, plan on waiting at least 20 minutes while they move like turtles chatting it up with each other. Even though the store is brand new it has a sloppy cardboard table when you walk in that has coffee and an old feeling to the store. The parking lot is on a slant so beware when parking next to people for fear of a car door slamming into your car. Save yourself the trip.
