As a Florida attorney, my ethics prohibit me from claiming I «specialize» in anything since I am not yet Board Certified by the Florida Bar.

Our practice does, however, focus on helping our clients with the ever-​changing dynamic of their families, including the aging of its members.

Practicing since 1994, we have worked with clients needing help with Wills and Trusts, Probate matters, Guardianships and their Alternatives, Mental Health Law, Adoptions, Divorces, Real Estate Transactions and Business Start-​ups.

The goal is to help ease each client with the changes that Life throws at all of us.

History

Established in 1994.

In 1994, Portia Scott was a newly minted attorney having graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law. W.R. «Bill» Scott, attorney in Stuart, Florida since 1949, came out of retirement to help form the partnership of Scott & Scott which existed, in one form or another until about 2009 when the firm’s name was changed to Portia B. Scott, Chartered.

Through the years, the focus of the practice has gradually shifted from civil litigation to real estate to family law to probate and guardianship to its present incarnation of working primarily in Elder Law.

Portia B. Scott is a sole practitioner from Stuart, Florida. Educated in Martin County throughout her childhood, Portia graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. in communication before attending Stetson University, College of Law where she earned her J.D. in 1994.

Portia is active in her community of Stuart as well as the legal community of Martin County.
