History

Established in 2008.

Tausha’s Seafood Market, of Stuart, Florida is a locally owned seafood business. Since it’s inception in 2008, Tausha’s Seafood has focused on buying local seafood harvested by local fishermen. The Treasure Coast fishing industry has a long history of producing quality seafood by hardworking fishermen. The marine environment provides a variety of shellfish, finfish and crustaceans. The coastline is adjacent to the warm gulf stream waters of the Atlantic Ocean where yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi, grouper, and snapper are caught. Tausha Houck, owner/​operator, travels from one end of the county to the other, several times per week to stock our market with the highest quality, freshest products available.

I would like to take this moment to give you a little history about the Houck family. The Houck family arrived in Port Salerno, Florida. In 1892 and was part of the birth of the commercial fishing industry in Florida. Our Houck ancestors played an important role through the great depression, and the World Wars providing millions with fresh seafood through the difficult times. As the decades passed, and the demand from the northern states grew for our local seafood, we realized that our local residents were being deprived of our great heritage, And so in May of 2009, we proudly introduced Tausha’s seafood market to the local public bringing our local seafood home once again.
