We ate here last night and were really disappointed. I ordered the sampler plate, brisket and chicken. For sides I had the Mac and cheese, and French fries. The fries were hot, the Mac and cheese was obviously not homemade. The only saving grace on my plate was the cornbread. Husband and friend both got ribs, and brisket. Brisket again so dry it was hard to get down. The restaurant was clean, that is one star, and the cornbread which we all did like is the other. We will not be returning.

The owner is rude. Over heard him tell employees he was tired of all the fat people in Virginia whining and complaining. Well maybe if it didn’t take 20 mins to get a pound of pulled pork when I was the only one in the store people wouldn’t complain. The staff is uncaring and more worried about talking to each other than service. Food is ok but he is always out of something the cole slaw was good when he opened but now it comes from food lion.

=== THE GOOD ===
Thankfully, the BBQ! I had the brisket (owner’s recommendation) and my wife had the pork. Both were delicious!
Portion: If you leave this place hungry, it’s your own fault. The «plate» meal was a much better deal than the «sandwich» meal. Not much more expensive, but a LOT more food… and BBQ!
Service: Entire staff was friendly. The owner even asked how much fat I prefer with my brisket before preparing my meal.
=== THE BAD ===
Honestly, there wasn’t anything bad. Their Mac & Cheese is more of the noodles with baked cheese style and I prefer a creamier style, but that’s more personal preference.
I do wish they had a few more sauce flavors, but that’s not a major issue since the sauces they have were good.

First time in Stuarts Draft and this restaurant was recommended by the bake shop in town who supplies them with the fresh rolls. Smoking on premises. A working smoker was set up in front of the strip plaza store front. We had pulled pork and brisket sandwich platters. We were very satisfied with both items. Plenty of meat, good smoke ring. Open kitchen. Very clean, including men’s room. Spoke with owner briefly who was working the counter. Didn’t ask, but this appears to be a new location for someone that knows how to prepare BBQ. Only sauces were mild and hot sweet sauces on the table. I prefer Carolina vinegar base for pork. When passing through Stuarts Draft I will definitely stop here again.
