I dint understand how anyone could rate this clinic less that 5 stars. The are the absolute BEST!!! The doctor is absolutely AMAZING AND always gives the most extensive examination of our animals that we have ever witnessed. We have 3 cats and two dogs, and he goes above expectations when we bring our pets to him. I don’t want to go anywhere else now that we have found Dr. Schwartz. He is there 7 days a week and we never have to wait to get in. Also, on a Saturday or Sunday, you can take your pet into him without the expensive ‘emergency clinic’ prices. We love this place!

This place will make you feel like having an animal should be the most depressing thing in the world. Both receptionists, Maria & Rosie, look like they’re dead inside. They never smiled once during my visit today & when I asked Maria for the bathroom, I felt like I was making her work too hard. When I called to make this appointment, it was a horrible experience. Rosie couldn’t properly explain to me what the fees were & neglected to tell me all the fees that were involved. I asked her how much the visit would cost & she told me $ 54. Today, I ended up paying $ 126 because she forgot to tell me the fees for the vaccines. She also put my appointment on the wrong day. She proceeded to tell me that I was being rude to her on the phone when I was asking her about the fees, after I questioned the price difference today. The doctor also never introduced himself to me, this time or last year. He did answer my questions in the quickest appointment I’ve ever been to, thankfully one thing was okay. I gave this place a second chance because I thought maybe they were having a bad day, one year ago. But that’s just how they are here. If you are looking for a happy Vet clin

We have trusted Dr David Schwartz with our fur legged family members for years. He has always been honest and helpful. The staff always answers questions or calls you back in a timely manner. If you are looking for a vet that cares about your family member this is the place for you.

Very thankful for Dr. Schwartz. He has saved my cat’s life twice already. He is a very quick, focused and experienced Vet. His priority is to get your pet healthy as soon as possible because he truly cares about animals. He will go out of his ways to do so. I trust him more than any other Vet and I know with him my pet is in the best hands. That is the reason why I chose him to do my cats surgery instead of the overpriced hospitals. His front desk staff and techs have also been very helpful during my several visits. Thank you for everything.

My little dog has a patellar luxation (knee cap issue) and I talked to so many different doctors. Every doctor suggests that my dog needs a knee surgery right away. Dr. Schwartz was the only doctor who was not pushy and honest. He told me to wait and see how my dog is doing in 2 weeks and take it from there. When it’s time for my dog’s knee surgery, I’ll make an appointment with Dr. Schwartz.

I am new to the area and have 2 sweet puppies who I would like to find a new primary vet for! One of my little girls needs to be fixed. So I was referred to this vet by 2 people who I strongly trust.
I made an appointment to have my puppies nails trimmed and to meet the veterinarian to see if this would be a good fit for my little ones and if it’s a place I would trust my youngest to get fixed.
On the phone and when I got there I stated why I was there not just for a nail trim but to see how the staff and doctor was.
You would think for a potential new patient they would want to make it a very enjoyable experience… it was not…
Staff was just staff, and the doctor was just a doctor…
After filling out the paper work they took me to an exam room. Here is where I met Dr. Schwartz. He was quick to see me, but seemed more quick to leave…
Yes he may be busy with other patients, but I asked while he was trimming my oldest dog if he could check her paws because she was abnormally over licking them all the time. I know my dog and that behavior is abnormal for her and all he said was oh could be an allergic reaction and that’s her sweat glands… ok well what should I look for to be worried…
He was not helpful except for trimming their nails and leaving.

To me he seemed like he just didn’t care about my dogs or my concern I had for the oldest abnormal behavior…
I guess I am on the hunt for a primary veterinarian still :-/​
I will not trust my youngest dog for surgery to a clinic who won’t seem warm and caring when you first go in…
I am sure they are great to patients that always see them… seeing they were recommended to me by friends… but for a new patient I didn’t feel a sense that they cared… just in and out
I know what to look for when it comes to a new vet because I had an amazing one back in Colorado from the moment we first went in was just as friendly as the last day we last saw them…
It’s important to make new and old patients feel that way and this place did not!
If you go I hope that they have read about my experience and will hopefully make new changes to how they make people who come in with their furry child feel! And that you have a more warmful experience than I did!

I wish there was a zero star option. Please don’t go here. I don’t think his vet cares about animals, people or knows what he’s doing. When I first moved back to the area (having left wonderful vets in Marina Del Rey) I gave them a try with my dog and he completely misdiagnosed her and wanted to over treat her. It didn’t sound right so I declined. Relocated to a reputable vet’s office that comes with great referrals and ACCESS in Woodland Hills for specialty (they’re absolutely wonderful). Please don’t take your pet here and I hope he closes for the good of animals and their loving owners. Zero stars. I’m not one to leave poor reviews for people but in his case I think it’s important to warn. Our pets rely on us to take care of them and can’t «tell» us what’s going on. Good, caring and knowledgeable vets are so important.

We received a free visit for our rescue pup’s first visit (me and my wife’s first dog). I wish we had made it our last. Dr. Schwartz acts irritated if you ask questions about your dog, makes you feel stupid, rushes through your appointment, is rough with our dog, and is basically a complete jerk. Reading other people’s reviews only reaffirms our decision to never return to this place.

Been coming here since it was recommended by the rescue I got my dog at a few years back. Dr. Schwartz is great with animals. You can tell he really loves them all. And he warms to their humans over time. So yeah, not the most charismatic people person, but he knows his stuff and actually will crack a joke now and again once he feels comfortable with you.
I don’t take my dog to the vet for a social visit, it’s more important to me that the doctor knows what he’s doing and that my dog feels comfortable and not scared. Pup isn’t a fan of visiting the office, but is always calm and content when the doctor and his assistants do their examination and treatments.

All right… I’ve been thinking about writing this for a while. If I had the energy to go at it I clearly have a lawsuit. I kinda don’t know where to begin. I guess from the beginning. So my dog had hidden tumor in her ear… and it burst. Dr. Schwartz fixed it right up super fast at a reasonable rate. But the day after the surgery I took off the I.V. bandage off as instructed and noticed they had left the needle in the leg and my dog Dillybar. (I still have the bloody needle) Blood instantly began pumping all over the place. I wrapped Dilly’s leg fast as I could and hurried back to them. Thankfully I live on the same block. Dr. Schwartz blamed his asst. in front of me and took no responsibility. Acted like it was almost normal. He didn’t seem to really give a shit and sheepishly offered me a free dog grooming. Wow. Dilly is fine… for that I am very thankful.
Flash forward about 9 months or so and Dilly (15 year oldish) had a blister/​sist suddenly burst on the side of her body. She’s had this small bump for over 7 years that had tested negative back then. It recently became a bit bigger and enflamed. Here’s where I mess up… I didn’t want to go back to Boulevard Pet Clinic but it was the closest and I wanted to move fast so I did. I know, I know… fool me twice. I realize that wasn’t a good move, and I’m sorry I made it.
When I arrived to the clinic in the morning the doc was in surgery and they said they’d call me back when he was out… wrong. I called them. 3 times. Front desk people didn’t even remember me… gave them my number again and got in at 4:30pm… which I was really glad about. But Dr. Schwartz stood there (with a black eye) and showed zero concern really… told me to get it surgically removed for 1k in the morning. There was no other talk at all… possibly treatment options… nope. I thought Dilly was actually looking pretty good. Additionally during this visit I mentioned that there was a little bump by Dilly’s ear where they had performed the previous surgery and he said it was the new ear hole… huh? how can a hole be a bump? His asst. looked down at it and realized it was stitches left in since the surgery! What?
Sorry this is so long… I’m really trying to be tighty.
Anyway… this all ends with me going home and starting simple cleaning treatments of Saline and Neosporin. The 1k surgery suggested wasn’t needed as the scab fell off in less than 2 weeks… and as many online sources suggested.
There’s my story.
Still haven’t used my free dog bath.
There are many bad reviews that I agree with on this Unilocal and I’m sure there’s been good experiences here as well… but mine goes past the point of simple carelessness.

Listen, there are no perfect doctors of any kind. But I have to say as someone who has run an animal rescue that Dr Schwartz has always gone the extra mile for our rescue dogs. I have used him for my personal dogs as well. He is open 7 days a week and he will board a dog without much notice. The front staff has always been accommodating and gracious. Dr Schwartz isn’t there to be your friend, he’s there to do well by your pets. It’s a demanding job and he is a sole practitioner.

If your pet is in trouble this is the place to bring him/​her.

They do all the tests on premisses and give your dog/​cat the best care.
Due to the great and correct diagnostics and medicine, my doggie is recovering fast
and is happy to play again.
Everybody at the office is incredibly polite and caring… and will answer any of your questions.

I’ve been going to BPC for many years and I have always had excellent service. Dr. Schwartz is kind and knowledgeable and the front office staff is friendly and efficient. They have been keeping my three cats in perfect health for many years. Dr. Schwartz and his team pulled my young male cat, Andy, through the infamous cat food poisoning crises several years ago, and he is keeping my elderly Siamese, Atticus, in excellent health for a *21-​year-​old*!! They are even able to handle my little feral female, Jessie, with no problem. The doctor is very no-​nonsense and doesn’t believe in over-​testing or useless treatments just for the sake of making money like many vets unfortunately do. This is a wonderful place that will give great care to your beloved pets.

t’s a shamed to read all the bad reviews. Dr. Schwartz is one of the BEST vets, not only is the doctor good but the staff is nice and friendly. The place is very clean and sanitized. It is a bit pricey, but let’s be honest, pets are like children and they are human beings too. So just like children get sick and go to doctors, so do pets.
Most of the bad reviews are from clients who complain about prices and are cheap.
Dr. Schwartz is a good doctor who helps others and what do they do in return? Cheat him and write bad reviews.

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been a pet owner most of my life, and I would never go back to this place because I love my animals. First thing to note– even the front desk people who were not friendly or helpful ADMITTED that they’ve had tons of complaints about how rude and unfriendly Dr. David Schwartz is. THEY ADMITTED THAT upon myself and another pet owner both standing up there to let them know about our bad experiences.
Here’s how it went down. I brought a rescue dog in to be neutered and get his shots. The receptionists are not friendly and didn’t have a clue what I was talking about when I came in, despite us having an appointment set up via the owner of the rescue group. Once it was cleared up, I dropped the dog off and knew I wouldn’t hear anything for hours, but when I called six hours later, he was totally ready to be picked up (for how long who knows) but they hadn’t called to let me know– every vet I’ve ever gone to calls immediately when my pet has had to have any procedures or shots of any kind done to get them home

The doctor! Holy cow. He was rude, short, and gruff and barely answered the questions I had. The one I have to repeat though is this: Upon me asking if the doctor could tell what kind of mix he might be based on his body shape, he paused as he looked at him and me, shook his head and said, «corgi maybe, something really squatty I don’t know,» handed me the paperwork and scoffed. ???
Terrible. I would never trust this place with a pet again. I also have to comment again that the other patron there with a dog was trying to tell the front desk how awful the doctor was with her as well, so I know this wasn’t the first time.

Here’s a real LA review for you: we drive from the West Side to see him… sometimes in rush hour! I cannot comprehend the negative reviews. Dr. Schwartz is THE BEST! He’s been treating my and my husband’s dogs for 20 years. We wouldn’t trust anyone else. In the past, we’ve had to use the occasional vet in an emergency situation and the we 1000
9;ve always been disappointed we couldn’t get our dog to see Dr. Schwartz.

The Vet was great. They help rescue dogs. Took a rescue dog there and the doc and the staff bonded with him. When I called back two weeks later, they all remembered him, including the doc. Great staff, down to earth. They diagnosed «Richard», German Shepard with respiratory infection, and after 10 days on meds he’s fine now.

Dr. Schwartz falsely diagnosed my cat with mammary tumors and thought that my cat was dying. I’ve been a vet tech for 10 years and thankfully knew that what he was feeling on my cats chest were only hair mats. I was so upset that he just wanted to put my animal to sleep that I took my cat to another hospital. My cat is 21 years old and has just been diagnosed with thyroid disease. Since the diagnosis he’s been medicated and is living a happy incredible life. Dr. Schwartz wanted to kill my cat over a dread lock on his chest. Unfortunately this is not the first negative experience I’ve had there. I highly suggest if you’re going there for a serious reason to consider going somewhere that is less lazy and more qualified.

Dr. Schwartz gave my dog an extra 2 years some time ago and I would recommend him to everyone!

It’s a shame this place has the reviews it does as Dr Schwartz and his staff are amazing. I was able to get more information and help with my senior Pomeranian in 1 visit that 4 years of visits w my previous vet. I have a champion Great Dane who has seen the best vets in the nation and I feel very lucky to have been referred to Dr Schwartz and his team. Having someone I feel good about hasn’t happened since moving to a California and again it is just such a relief knowing your baby is in good hands.
We love our dogs, they are family… Having a knowledgeable and ethical veterinary clinic is a peace of mind is priceless
