Hey, I’m Dan. First things first. Am I the HANDIEST man in the world? Probably not. But I am quite handy and there were just way too many guys out there called «Dan the Handyman.» So to differentiate, I decided to declare myself the handiest!

A little bit about my background, I grew up in a 100 year old house in Northern California, and thus have basically grown up working with my hands on a daily basis. I helped my dad re-​do windows, floors, a picket fence — you name it!

I further honed my craft working as a property manager for 5 years at several luxury apartment and condo buildings. Then in 2008, my wife Mia and I purchsed a neglected business and remodeled it from top to bottom on a shoestring budget. After a ton of hard work, we turned it around and took it from making $ 2K per month to over $ 15K per month. We successfully sold the business in 2010.

I currently live in Studio City with my wife and (fur) baby Koopa. In my spare time, I hike, write comedy, and foster rescue dogs.

After going through so many reviews, I started to notice a trend regarding handymen. A lot of them were given one or two stars not for the work that was subpar, but for simply not answering a phone call. I read Dan’s reviews and was hoping to at least get a quote from him. I left a couple messages from him, and finally asked in the message if he could just give me confirmation that he does not service the area my property was in so that I could move on in my search. He promptly called back and regretfully let me know that I was out of his service area. This is just a brief review of professional courtesy that Dan provided for me, and it is appreciated.

I found Dan here on Unilocal.He was just as amazing as all the other reviews say. He arrived at the time we agreed on and he was extremely friendly. He replaced a few light fixtures, hung up a coat rack, and hung up a large mirror. He also replaced an old electrical outlet eventhough he very honestly told me that he is not an electrician. He works very efficiently. He even offered to patch up some small paint work but I did not have the right paint on hand. He definitely goes above and beyond! We discussed mounting my tv. I will be calling him after I buy the mount. It’s extremely hard to find great, affordable and knowledgeable handymen. I’m so happy that I found him on here.

I called Dan to put together my daughter’s new Christmas gift, a kidkraft kitchen. Dan was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish — easy and great to set and confirm an appointment and once here — he put together a complicated kids toy effortlessly and perfectly. He helped hang a few things and noticed a loose handle on a door that he fixed in 2 minutes. He was quick, efficient and such a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely call him first when I need some help around the house again. He is as great as his reviews suggest.

It is always difficult to find a trusted service professional through online reviews. Many reviews are either over inflated creating unrealistic expectations or so depressingly negative that they instill pangs of anxiety. For this reason, I was skeptical choosing a handyman on Unilocal.
I had no reason to worry. Dan was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He helped install some artwork we had procrastinated on hanging for several months. Dan was thorough and made sure each piece was exactly to our liking. He was quick and more than fair when it came down to payment.
We will definitely be using Dan for our future projects and recommend others to do the same.

Dan is dope! He’s super communicative and so friendly. He had to run by Home Depot to get some things to drill through brick, then he sat in traffic on the 101 to get to my apartment. I know it may be hard to believe anyone can have a 5 stars review from everyone, but in this case it absolutely is true and well deserved!
I could not have been happier with the work Dan did and how quickly he got it done. I needed the slats on my bed repaired, not only did Dan fix it he reinforced all slats and my bed is now actually sturdier than it was before. Not only is Dan’s work excellent but he is also really nice. I think I may have told him 10 times how happy i was I found him on Unilocal!
I have some additional work like mounting a couple of TVs and hanging some art that I had put off because I was nervous about inviting someone into my home. Now that I found Dan I feel like all finally start making my ‘New Apartment,’ Pinterest board a reality.
**Yes the last sentence is super cheesy but it is true. I have not shame in my love for Pinterest.

The key ingredients to a great Handyman are honesty, quality work and speed. Dan excels in all of these. Dan helped me with multiple projects including hanging flat screens, grinding a door to install a lock and some other small projects. Dan worked super fast and will not cut corners. Highly recommend!

I actually spent time finding my Unilocal password so that I could properly log in and give Dan his due. He promptly got back to me after I texted him originally. He stayed in contact as I let him know what exactly I needed and was patient when I changed what I needed once. He arrived on time and got right to work — also helped me with this stubborn broken sliding door that I’ve given up on and my building’s handyman had too. Dan fixed it in seriously ten seconds. He installed some great hanging lights on a deck, hung pictures and wall hooks expertly as well as removed some ugly blinds and installed double hanging curtains. Dan was quick and efficient and really kind. I would highly recommend him. I would stop searching if I were you. You found your guy.

Based on the great Unilocal reviews, I contacted Dan to do a number of things at my house, including putting together an Office Depot desk, an Ikea filing cabinet, swap ceiling fans in two rooms, and install some shelving. He was great! The initial consultation was quick and he confirmed he could the jobs, we scheduled a day/​time and he arrived on time and got to work. His rate is reasonable and he is all work. Yeah! Thanks Dan. I’ll happily use you again.

Dan is so cool! He’s great at his job, he’s polite and he responds to you. I realized I needed some help so I turned to Unilocal.I found Dan and a few other handymen… Ideally I wanted someone there that evening, however, I knew that being so late on a Sunday afternoon it may not happen. I spoke with a couple other guys, who could be there when I wanted, however, their quotes were ridiculous! I finally called Dan, and his voicemail said for a faster response text him, and so I did. Moments later he responded saying he wasn’t able to come that day, however, he could be there the very next day and his rates are great!
He arrived on time and did everything within the hour! This man is great and I highly recommend hiring him if you need any handy work done!

Dan is Awesome! We had him come in to hang some TV’s in our office, after hiring a Task Rabbit husband and wife team previously to hang two 52 inchers and they literally took ALL DAY and we just needed someone to do it faster and not milk the clock.
Dan’s reviews were great and they’re legit! He installed the same sized TV in an hour. Fast, quality work and even helped us pick the perfect spot. Polite, friendly, clean: Awesome. We hired him for 2 more jobs and will continue to do so.
I have an experienced team of Property Managers and previous Personal Assistants who have dealt with a LOT of contractors for a LOT of different types of construction and maintenance work over the years and Dan left us all with a smile of practical shock from the ease of experience. «Call Dan» is actually our new inside catch phrase when we need something done right haha.
I’m a «do it myself» girl, I DIY EVERYTHING, but I broke down and called Dan this week to help me hang some stuff. I would rather pay him than buy a new drill and he’s on the short list of people that I know will do it well. If you want something done right, do it yourself… OR BETTER YET, call Dan! Here’s the deal, we all have that one thing lying around or stuffed away in storage that we never hung up or never got around to building, right? It’s so much easier, better, and quicker to just call Dan. Yes he can build it, yes he can hang it, yes he can fix it.
I contacted him to build multiple things and hang multiple things, and he was at my place a few days later. On time, friendly, and damn quick!
He hung up art, put up shelves, built a storage unit, and put up a HUGE kitchen shelf for me. Oh and he totally cleaned up all the mess.
Not only that, but my storage arrived in the mail damaged and missing pieces so Dan offered to build it anyway, or put it back in the box and come back another day. So he did just that, packed it up neatly and came back the next day!
My home has improved so much since Dan helped us. We have new storage, new art, new everything! Can’t express enough how great of a handy man he is!
