THANK YOU ALYSSA! I am ecstatic that I found her and this gem of a salon in studio city! Alyssa is incredible and always nails the look I want! I’ll never go anywhere else and I highly recommend Alyssa for your cosmetology needs! Their prices can’t be beat, their staff is kind and welcoming, and I’m so impressed by my exceptional experience with Alyssa and Rua Salon!

I’ve been coming here for the last year and the stylist who normally takes care of me and who I adored unexpectedly left. Alyssa was available and I’m was a little skittish about booking with someone I know nothing about, but had no choice as I had an event in a couple of days and my hair was in desperate need. I’m happy to say that she gave me an awesome haircut and style. She listened to everything I asked for and checked in repeatedly to make sure about length, styling, fullness, etc. I’m going back for more Alyssa!

Went to Rua yesterday for the first time. Place has great vibes and everyone there is very friendly. I saw Alyssa for a cut and color. It was refreshing to have a stylist who was confident and in command of what she was doing, I felt totally comfortable taking the leap to cut a lot of length off of my hair and add some color. I am so happy with the results that I had to tell the world. We did a shoulder length bob with a balayage which we came up with after looking through pictures online — Alyssa helped me with this a great deal. She is very talented and I’m definitely going back. So happy to have found a new salon and hair stylist!!! Added bonus. they have a parking lot!

I was recommended to Rua Salon by a friend. I was blessed to have Alyssa do my hair. I was very unhappy with my color. Way to blonde and no matter what, could not get what I want. I explained to Alyssa exactly what I want, and even if she got close to what I wanted, I would be satisfied.
She not only got close, she gave me EXACTLY what I wanted.
This girl is smart, extremely knowledgable regarding color, and she can cut some hair.

Alyssa took my long hair with an ok blonde color to a bleach and tone…
fabulous color. I brought her a picture of a hair cut I wanted at the same time… short and perky. I have never had so many compliments on my hair in my life. One of the best one is that it makes me look 10 years younger. WOW! At 65 I absolutely love my new fun look. Alyssa has
changed my life. I feel better about my look than I have in many years.

I was recommended to Alyssa not too long ago. Since then, I have gotten exactly what I needed in cuts and styles. Alyssa is attentive to my needs, and I am always thrilled with the result!
Since then, I have sent my wife, who has seldom been happy with her hair and very particular, and she has been thrilled as well.

Caitlin is amazing and my hair color always turns out great, she also does incredible blowouts that look perfect for DAYS. She rules!

Bella is great. Her work is thorough & she’s honest; when you request a particular cut or color she will actually stop you & let you know whether it will look good or not. On top of it she’s super sweet.

I was growing out my hair and it was a shaggy embarrassing mess! My friend Becca recommended Alyssa and I’m sooooo glad I finally went. She doesn’t over cut, she truly listens to WHAT YOU WANT! She gave me a super cute and stylish long Bob I feel so much better, my hair is bouncy and healthy and I’m going back to her for color next week. The salon is gorgeous and the owners were very friendly. I totally recommend going to see Alyssa. Plus she’s adorable and has the cutest hair

Got my hair done by Stephanie shes great. I like my hair but I’m not in love with it. Wasnt really close to what I wanted even tho I took a reference photo. Not worth $ 300+ I spent on my hair.

so I came across this place by pure luck, I swear it was meant to be. so I had an appointment with another person (Jessica M @ the butterfly loft salon) earlier that day but turned out she forgot about my appt and took the day off ! I was so angry because I drove like 40 minutes to see her. anyways I was determined to get my hair done that day so I looked up the closest hair salons and RUA SALON, came up. I called and they had time for a walk in. lucky me I get DAMON ! he gave me exactly what I wanted, his fingers worked magic ! Everything happens for a reason, maybe the other girl would’ve given me a bad haircut but fortunately I came around this gem ! GO SEE DAMON !

Thank you Damon for the beautiful cut. It’s so bold yet elegant! I’ve got only good feedback of my haircut. I’ve been to many salons and not found this type of service. I’ve found my salon for sure ! Thank you.

He moved from Aveda Kriza to Rua Salon. Rua Salon has exceptional customer service, and when you find a stylist there — you have found your new home! I’ve always received compliments and to save time, I actually bring his cards with me everywhere I go. Btw, he does cuts AND color.
You must go to Johnny. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Don’t walk, RUN TO RUA SALON.

If you want to be pampered and have the best haircut, this is the place to go. Super friendly staff, awesome hair stylists & a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Ask for Johnny Yang, he’s great! He is very detailed and you can tell he takes pride in his work. They have yummy little treats and beverages too! I’ve never been so impressed before with a salon.

This was my first time getting my hair dyed professionally and I can easily say I made a smart choice by coming here.
I’ve been feeling pretty adventurous recently so I decided to chop off 8 inches of my hair and dye it with an ombré style. And fate brought me to CAITLYN. She had awesome dirty blonde styled hair which confirmed I’d be in good hands. I made a reservation over the phone just the day before my appointment during Thanksgiving season – swift and easy.
The ambiance of the salon is absolutely stunning. Flushed white, clean walls with music sounding like it came directly from my iTunes library. You definitely get not only great work done on your hair but also a great experience overall.
Caitlyn was so friendly and easy to talk to during the entire process (which took exactly 4 hours). She made sure that we were both on the same page and didn’t hesitate to ask me questions before completing each task. Just by observing her work on my hair, you could tell that she was a master of her art. I have never seen someone so meticulous with my hair, dying each part with her utmost care and perfection. She also gave me advice on how to style my hair and made sure that she revamped my look for the better.
I came out of Rua Salon looking like a million bucks. I don’t usually spurt out compliments when it comes to hair stylists in that I’ve never really had a great experience after coming out of a salon. But wow, Caitlyn knew what sort of style complimented my face and even my personality! I now have my go-​to hair salon and stylist in Los Angeles, something I wasn’t anticipating considering I’ve never looked good coming out of one (I’m being serious). I 100% would recommend this establishment to my friends and anyone on Unilocal

One of the beautiful things about pregnancy is that your hair grows in thick… and fast. I needed a stylist and salon that was close, affordable, and, most importantly, able to create and recreate a flattering style that could keep up with my ever-​changing body.
I found Rua Salon on Unilocal,and was delighted with my first phone call with the super sweet James who booked me in with the equally sweet Leslie.
Leslie listened to what I wanted and gave me a super cute, easy to maintain (huge plus!), cut and style. She was also a delight to be around, and I could feel the love and attention she puts into her work.
The salon itself is gorgeous, though parking can be a bit hairy so get there early to find street parking (otherwise, they do have valet).

Felipe has left the building but I hope this salon still does well without him. Cheers!

I went here based off their Unilocal reviews/​pictures and I got my hair colored and cut. I went in asking for them to refresh my color that I already had, and I also wanted some long layers to give my hair some texture. When I left I was so pleased because they had curled my hair, the color looked nice. cool awesome. Unfortunately I was wrong. After my first wash (when I finally saw my hair straight) I realized how much they had actually botched my hair. The «long layers» I received look as though my stylist separated my hair in half, and then cut a bob into the top portion of my hair and left the underside long. It was horrible! I was freaking out and sobbing not just because it’s taken me forever to grow my hair that long, but also because I own my business and model (bookings are largely based on my look/​style/​hair) and after sending them pictures post shower I was dropped from multiple shoots and campaigns. LUCKILY I was able to find another salon who was able to fix what RUA did to my hair (I spent a solid 6+ hrs having them redo the damage that was done) and they did a fantastic job. But to get my hair to look normal again (without actually giving me a bob) they had to put in a crap ton of extensions and then blend in layers to fix what RUA did. I’ve reached out to Rua via email a multitude of times for a refund (because the quality that I got was nothing like the pictures that are on their website or here), and have yet to be given a refund (although they did invite me back almost 2 weeks later to have my cut «assessed» and fixed by their «hair stylists»…no thanks. the last time they assessed and cut my hair they completely ruined it so NOPE!) Still waiting to hear back on what the status of my refund is. To add insult to injury the original stylist who did this to my hair posts a picture of the haircut I’m currently trying to receive a refund for, and tags me in it… so now my clients are again confused as to what my hair looks like now, and I had to take MORE time out of my day to explain to them that I don’t know why they are posting these old pictures as my hair no longer looks this way. Just a heads up Rua, posting a picture of me without my permission or a model release is a biggggg no-​no, and also rather confusing as I’ve been nothing but up front about how much I hate the style. I digress. I’m attaching pictures of my hair, which I would never post publicly but I’m hoping to save someone else from the nightmare I had to go through.

I had the best experience at Rua. My hair was done by Damon. I will only let him to take care of my hair from now on. My employer found him last minute to color and cut my hair for the photo-​shoot. I am so happy he did! He also very easily fixed my haircut after the previous saloon (where I will never go back again.)
The ombré he did is just the best I actually ever had and he took all my considerations and did coloring that was perfect for what I was going for. He is a bit more expansive then other stylists but it’s a reasonable price. Trust me.
I totally recommending him! My friends always ask me where do I do my hair and get lots of compliments on it. If I could I would give more stars :)

So I went to Rua based off the reviews left on Unilocal and I was not disappointed. Initially attracted to the photos posted of clients with unnatural hair colors I went in hoping they would do the same job for me. Bella, my stylist was super personable and extremely accommodating and did a lovely job taking my hair from about three different colors to a lovely silver grey with purple tones. I was at the salon for approximately seven hours because of the amount of hair I have and never once did I get the feeling that she was bored with me or exhausted. Those hours definitely paid off because my hair now looks fantastic. Thank you, Bella for your work. I will definitely be returning here for my touch up. Much love.
