US Moving Service

This is an honest review from what I had experienced. Alex and his 2 workers came to help move me to a new place 8 mins away. I walked him and his crew through my house of items to move. I told him anything in the closets are not to be moved. I walked him through the garage and showed him the rest of the items. Next we signed the contract. He did disclose there is a charge for using shrink wrap. What he didn’t disclose was they use it regardless of asking me if I wanted them to and however amount. When Alex got to the moving of the bedroom stuff he was in my room. He said he had wardrobe boxes I can put my clothes in (hence I did not pack any clothes up since I just wanted them to move the real heavy items to cut time and cost). I told him at first no I can do those later. He kept in insisting and that it will save me time. So I gave in since I only have 2 days left to turn in my keys. I told him I don’t want my closet to be packed but he can pack my daughters’ room. I walked away again to do something and my husband came after me saying why is Alex packing our closet. So I go back and tell Alex don’t pack my closet. I had very important items stored there so I didn’t want anyone touching it other than me. I went to close my closet door. Alex finished up my room and then went to my daughters’ room next. He packed all their stuff from the closet into the wardrobe boxes. In between packing I have to say Alex was constantly on the phone. He would try packing and loading stuff with one hand since other hand was holding cell phone. Him and his crew constantly took smoke breaks. At first I didn’t mind but it happened every 30 mins or so. Hey it’s my money they are using for this since I’m being charged by the minute. I should have said something but the nice and reserve person I am I didn’t. I even gave them water since it was a very hot day. Fast forward they are almost done 4 hours later, I have a 2 bedroom house, I saw some rolled up nickels on my kitchen cabinet. I asked my husband where that came from. He said the 2 guys (not Alex) gave it to him as they found it outside. That was when it hit me! I had hid my daughters’ rolled up coins in their closet shelf! Not thinking anything and trusting the movers had put it in one of the wardrobe boxes I’ll get it when I unload at the new house (had to unload so box can be returned to them). Left old house to meet Alex at new house and literally my alley was filled with cigarette butts! Fast forward to the unloading of the wardrobe boxes at my new place. Could not find the rolled up coins! It was in a clear plastic box that is a good size to find easily. I let this go and didn’t say anything to Alex as I didn’t want to come out accusing of theft. I ended up paying about 6.5 hours! Over $ 700 spent. $ 165 was for the shrink wrap! I should have got credited for their breaks they took. I understand a quick minute or two but each break was about 15 mins long (i had timed m after seeing too many). For a 2 bedroom house that was a lot of time to move! Too much. My last movers did under 3 hours. I think what happen was since I was their only customer that day that they took their time. I mean the number of breaks and lagging they did… I had to pay for it. Not fair but what was worst was stealing from a 7 and 5 year old. I ended up not finding the coins so I texted Alex the day or so after and he finally confirmed his crew saw it in the back truck. How the heck did it get in the back truck if it was to have been in one of the wardrobe box!!? He said he’ll return to me after the 10^th of September since he was busy. It is now way after the 10^th of September and have not return then to us. I will be making a police report since the amount is well over $ 200. Very sad situation. When a parent have to lie to their children that their money was used for the house when in fact the movers stole it. I believe it did not fall back in the truck but they tried stealing it since things don’t just «fall» out of a box! As heavy as that plastic box was with all those coins… they would have heard it falling out… if it had legs to fall out! Please do not use these movers. If they have the heart to steal from kids who knows what other stuff they may steal. I am at the point I am done playing this game with Alex. I had even offered to go to him to get the coins any time of the day and he said he was too busy! Pathetic! Alex I hope you read this review. You said you had kids that are my children’s age. I hope they don’t have to go through what my kids are going through. I showed them how to save for something they have been wishing to go to all their lives (disneyland) and you come to take that away. What you took I hope it back fires on you tenfolds! On our part we will get back tenfolds and more of what you took! Hopefully you spend that money on your kids and not on your cheap vodka! Making a police report tomorrow afternoon.

Most of the service was decent. The one star for how they handled problems poorly and attitude.
1) The insurance doesn’t exist. They will give you multiple excuses why it the customer’s fault. Very bad attitude. Solution: don’t tell the customer there is insurance.
2) The pieces that I told the movers that I cared the most about are the ones that got damaged. I had to ask to have a blanket around one of my favorite chairs. The other one went in with out my seeing, probably unwrapped, and got dinged. Solution: wrap all the furniture, especially the customer’s favorite.
3) The couch was wrapped in shrinkwrap, but without blankets. Not good enough to prevent scrapes. Leather couch ruined. Solution: wrap couches like cabinets.
4) Sell customers on shrink wrap service instead of just saying these supplies cost $$ extra. People don’t think they need it and think it will be communicated before used. Solution: sell the customer on its virtues. Easy to make the customer want it. Turn a negative into a positive.
I would never use these guys again. Shockingly poor customer service attitude.
For the record, what they did well was show up on time (even a little early), navigate a very narrow driveway, and efficiently pack a truck.

No complaints! I tipped them because they were so helpful to me.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT USE US MOVING SERVICE INC!!! STEALERS, CHEATERS, SCAMMERS!!! During a very pricey move (we used 4 men for over 12 hours), they lost my elderly mother’s safe that had several thousand dollars and jewelry inside of it. While the move was in process, both my mother and sister informed them immediately and they did absolutely nothing about it. We filed a Police Report the very next morning. US Moving Service have completely ignored the fact that the item is missing. Subsequent to that, they have refused to take or return any of our phone calls and emails and have completely disregarded our request for information for their Bond Insurance. It has now been 3 ½ weeks since the incident and they just continue to ignore our requests! I am extremely disappointed in the way Alex is handling this situation, since I have used them in the past and haven’t had any issues. There are so many moving companies to choose from… DO NOT USE US MOVING SERVICE — you and your valuables will be so very sorry!

I used these guys twice in the past 6 months. The first time was a good experience although they pushed back my move 8 hours because of their truck breaking down. They hooked me up with $ 20 off per hour for the inconvenience (5 hours total). But, I missed work so it just evened out.
I enjoyed chopping it up with the guys so I thought I would use them again.
The second time was decent service but they charged me over DOUBLE for less stuff and a shorter move. I knew it would be more than the first time but over twice the price was ridiculous. At the end of the move the guy was just tacking on more and more charges. For instance, I was charged $ 165 for shrink wrap (they used waaay too much in my opinion). Plus the deal of paying cash and knocking off the 5%+$ 40 fuel surcharge that was discussed in the beginning went out the door in the end. The excuse «You signed contract».
All in all, I would go with someone else and get consistent service. I really wanted to like these guys and had even recommended some people after the first move. After the second experience though… I will be using someone else.
The move was 1 apartment and just my wife and I. Everything was prepacked.

My sister and I were extremely happy with their service. They called to confirm the day before and have us a heads up before they arrived on the day off.
They were on top of things and packed things quickly and carefully. They were very patient even though we had a 2 ½ year old running around and trying to help them move things.
Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend them!

My wife and I moved from a one bedroom in Palms to two bedroom in Torrance (15 miles) I called a number I found on a Craig’s list ad and spoke to Stan. Stan confirmed he had availability on my move date and asked me to email him all my move details. Shorty after sending the email, I received a replied confirmation from Stan along with terms and costs. The day before my move date, I received a voicemail confirmation and email confirmation that the move was planned for next day.
Stan showed up 15 minutes early and they gave me a contact to sign. We went through the contract together, seamed like a standard moving contact. They quickly got everything into the truck. The truck was clean and professionally equipped. We met Stan at our new place about thirty five minutes after we left Palms. They made no stops and made no detours. They unloaded quickly and placed everything in the places my wife and I asked. Everything arrived undamaged and clean.
These gentlemen were professional, respectful, responsible, provided great communication and were clean about their business. Both my wife and I felt very comfortable Stan and team.
I feel that I got a good service at a good price. I would not hesitate to hire these guys again.

I needed some last minute movers and I found them on Craigslist. I called on Tuesday and spoke to Stan. I told him that I needed movers for that Sunday, ³⁄₁. I was so glad they could fit me in on such short notice! Stan asked me to email him all the info (addresses, my contact info, etc). Right away he returned my email with a confirmation and then called me back to let me know that he emailed me. As promised he called the day before the move to confirm again. Then he called the day of to let me know he was 9 miles away so I could meet them at the storage place. I had 2 pick up locations and one drop off destination. Two of the locations had stairs. The guys showed up with a big industrial truck, they had plenty of wardrobe boxes which was really helpful, and they were very professional and friendly. This was a surprise considering I found them on Craigslist so you never know what to expect. I would definitely give them a call again. Oh, and no charge for drive time. The cost was straight forward, nothing hidden.

Sam and his team of movers are fantastic. Organized, hard-​working, on time, efficient and very professional. Not to mention very reasonably priced! They made a hectic move very smooth.

I needed to move a ton of furniture into a new third-​floor office. The movers showed up on time (even a few minutes early), were very careful to not damage the furniture or the building. They were very attentive to instruction and my requests, and even moved all my trash/​boxes down to the dumpster in the underground parking lot. I would highly recommend them and will be using them for our moving needs in the future! :-)

This is my first Unilocal review; that’s how upset I am. 1 ½ hrs after the movers were supposed to show, I finally called to learn that Sam canceled on me… ON THE DAY I HAD TO MOVE! Not even a call or email in the morning to warn me, it was only because I called that I found out. Not only very unprofessional, but also extremely inconsiderate. I would not recommend this company to an enemy. It’s no wonder that all the other reviews look fake, (which I’m not saying they ARE, but if one was to ask my OPINION, I would SAY that I personally THOUGHT they were — protecting myself from getting in trouble on Unilocal). BEWARE! They hire THIEVES! We contracted US Moving early September 2014. Stan and his crew of 2 knock out the move in 7 hours, but they took too many smoke break in between moving the all our furniture. This added easily 1.5 hours of extra to the move. But our real issue is that the STOLED FROM US! A few days after the move I came across charges to my wife’s AMEX card at a Burbank gas station! We have not visited or no anybody from Burbank and it just so happens this moving company is located in Burbank. Today I received a letter from Chase informing me that I failed to pay my credit card bill. Apparently 2 charges appears on our statement, one in Burbank and the other in Palm Dale on Sept 6^th and 8^th. They made charges the DAY WE MOVED! Needless to say I have opened a Police report with Burbank PD and they informed me that I am not the first person to open a report against US Moving. BEWARE!!!

This was my first time using a professional moving company to make a move. We had two storage spaces to unload into a 1 bedroom apartment. Stan and Adam were a great team! Both of them were quick and very professional, never looked like they were in a hurry. They took great care to make sure that everything was moved properly and off-​loaded to the right place, once we got to the new apartment. If you want people that give everything they got, are tough as nails, and take pride in doing a great job for you, go with this company. On top of everything else, their rates were also very reasonable. Overall, this was a great experience, and will use them again when I make my next move.

These guys are incredibly efficient and professional. I recommend them to everyone I know! They were very nice to deal with and they were very careful with all the heavy, expensive, glass and furniture everything made it safely from my mom’s storage to her new apartment — nothing broken, damaged or scuffed. We had 2 movers Stan being one them, what a great guy. If you have heavy furniture or a lot of stuff. I highly recommend them — can’t stress enough how professional and careful they are!
I priced out a couple of other companies just to compare, and U. S MOVING SERVICE has the best rates in town. You will not find a better company at a better rate, this company is top notch. This company was a pleasure to deal with and Hands down the best moving company ever!
Bottom line, they were professional, honest and hardworking, I would highly recommend these two gentlemen and i will be using them again!

I don’t know why all the other reviews are hidden; um, I’m not some fake sincerity bot/​human like out of a Spike Jonze movie.
Anyway, Stan and Alex did a great job. They were careful with my stuff, professional and kind. They protected my dear harp. They are not particularly expensive for movers, but a 2BR apartment with lots of furniture and unnecessary first-​world accumulated crap (and I had 2 stops– storage facility and new apt) ran me just under $ 500 plus tip. However, my stuff is safe, they were thorough in how they loaded and stabilized everything, and overall it was all done honestly and hassle-​free.

First of all, Sam was very helpful and accommodating when I telephoned to make by appointment. He made sure to confirm the correct date and time. I had to change my appointment at the last minute and he was again very accommodating.
I had chosen to go with U.S. Moving Service because they had insurance as movers. I first found them on Craigslist and liked their low fees ($ 59/​hour for two movers; 3 hrs minimum). I was looking for a low cost mover with value for my one bedroom move across town. After comparing rates and services, I had my movers.
Second of all, Viktor and Lyall were on tome early in the morning. They were pleasant and very efficient. They also helped move a piano into my aunt’s garage. They supplied blankets and wardrobe boxes. Before I finished packing my personal effects, they were done and ready to go.
The move-​in was also smooth and efficient. Viktor told me not to move the furniture myself in case I inadvertently scratched the hardwood floors. He and Lyall moved my furniture to my liking. They were great. The whole move lasted 3.25 hours. I will definitely call Sam again for my next move and would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family.
