Weddington Golf & Tennis

This place has one of the worst staff members (Mary) she is the main cashier.
She was extremely RUDE to my boyfriend and his friends. It was their first time there and she just seemed very impatient and unhappy. After my friends purchased their stuff, Mary said, «fucking idiots» (for no reason) infront of me and my friends plus other customers.
My boyfriend told her, «that was uncalled for» and she had nothing to say for herself. Why would you have someone so unpleasant working at a place where not only friends come to enjoy golf but families as well.

Great place for practice. Easy, friendly, affordable. Very well-​maintained. Beautiful practice putting green.

My review deals with the tennis part of Weddington Golf and Tennis. Someone mentioned the rudeness of the staff in their review and I would have to concur. I’ve played here several times and it’s a well maintained facility. The courts and private and nicely lit. It’s more expensive than most facilities out there or at least in the valley. However you know what you’re paying for. The last time I tried to check in with the facility, I must have gotten someone that was new, but there was a level of arrogance that simply unnecessary and uncalled for. Essentially he made it as seemed he wouldn’t talk to me or tell me what the availability was like if I don’t pay for a membership. Of course non members can play, but really that’s not the best way to sign people up. Someone should fire that guy and I hope someone did. No court in LA is worth that kind of headache. For my money, I would say Burbank Tennis Center or Balboa Tennis are better options and far nicer than the arrogance that grows out of this place.

Rude people horrible course

Pretty nice driving range! $ 20 for a jumbo bucket of range balls, and the turf is nicer than some of the other driving ranges. Parking is easy, which is always a plus. I think it’s $ 17 to play 9 holes, which is pretty cheap. My fiancé and I plan to play a round of golf here soon.

We usually have pleasant experiences here and the place is really clean and organized. One day We came with 4 kids at 7:15 and wanted to pay for a full hour and play until 8pm (they closed at 8pm). She locked the doors on our face and said «no»! I have a right to make a decision and I’m not letting you play.” She shouldn’t be able to make those decisions, no service at all!
I had initially gave them a 1-​star but later changed it because the manager spoke to me and shows that she cares.

This review is for the golf side of Weddington Golf & Tennis only.
I wish I lived closer to Weddington because it’s a nice, well-​maintained 9-​hole par-​3 course. A lot of the Hollywood industry types play here, but thankfully I’ve never had to deal with any of the industry attitude. Everybody’s pretty mellow and friendly.
There’s an old-​school feel to the clubhouse and after paying for your round, you walk right up to the first tee box (they’re all mats here) to play your nine. There’s also a practice putting green and driving range if you want to work out the kinks in your game.
The shortest hole (no. 3) is 75 yards and the longest (no. 8) is 135 yards, so no need to bust out your driver. A few irons and wedges will be just fine. There are no bunkers or water to worry about and the course is clean, especially the greens.
The only reason Weddington doesn’t get five stars is that it’s a tad overpriced for nine holes of par-​3 golf ($ 12 on the weekdays; $ 15 on the weekends). I’d still recommend it for my fellow weekend warriors, though.

Only 20 $ for an XL bucket of 220 balls for the driving range. Which I usually share. I usually visit every Thursday after work it’s not far. Friendly staff as well as the crowd they get. If you need to rent clubs 1 $ each club.
Parking is usually simple in the parking lot. There’s putting greens that are open until 5pm. The golf course is ok. One of my favorite driving ranges to frequent! Great place to let off some steam they also have tennis courts sweet!

This golf course has been under possible fire for development and destruction for some time. Now the management is trying to make it happen from the inside. The rates have recently been raised in a huge bump – cart fees for the 9 holes have gone from one to five dollars. They also have gone from a friendly neighborhood place for putting green to charging five dollars an hour. For early golfers going in before work or avoiding the noon heat they also don’t allow people on the putting green before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. Finally, their frequent use bonus program has gone from punch card to Perka and the program works only part of the time. It seems as if they are trying to drive people away.

This review is for the front staff only as the tennis instructors seem wonderful, are extremely helpful and the facilities seem great. However, I cannot understand why a large golf and tennis facility such as Weddington would employ such a rude and unhelpful employee such as Stacy to work their front office. She was extremely rude and went out of her way to be unhelpful when we came in for help with the lessons. I just couldn’t believe how she talked to the customers! A 5 star facility knocked down to 2 all due to the customer service. As a business owner myself, I know how important it is for the front office person to be kind, courteous and helpful. It reflects back on the company philosophy. Maybe Weddington doesn’t know or doesn’t care? There are many hardworking, courteous people who would love the opportunity to work there. It’s hard to understand why they would employ such a rude one.

This place use to be wonderful and we all tried to save it. They’ve become greedy they now they charge FIVE DOLLARS to practice putting. They already charge double for a bucket of balls! Way to lose customers and support!

Nice clean place, everything is perfect the only negative is that it is expensive, evenings I pay 17 dollars per hr.

Pleasantly surprised as I came here this past Thursday on suggestion from my friend Kate who joined me but disappointed me as I thought she was much better than what I witnnessed.
That said I’m no expert myself but getting better. this place is old but the lady who sits there is super nice and friendly. We paid $ 11 for a large tub of ballz and split them between the two of us. Played for about 45 minutes and then went to get some Mexican food to get some gas.
I’m a memeber at Braemar and it doesn’t compare, but this place is good for enthusiasts who want to practice for a reasonable price. Oh and large parking lot as well so it’s good the practice and then play as I think they have a short 9 hole course.

A beautiful throwback driving range nested here in the heart of Studio City. Has some of the best golf instructors in the valley along with a interesting part three inexpensive course.

What a true gem. Though at this point I can only speak to the tennis facilities, this charming throwback is manned by unassertive yet sweet staff led by the wonderful Jackie, who will walk you through everything from the basics of open court play to referring a club pro.
The courts are in great shape and cost anywhere from $ 11-​$ 17 per hour, and there’s a cool little perquisite of renting a ball machine for seven dollars per hour. Make sure to go in off of peak hours though, as even with 16 courts they are sometimes, albeit rarely, booked. A membership costs only $ 38 — I’m telling you, this really is a throwback exclamation — and will allow you the leniency and convenience of reserving a court and/​or the ball machine. The parking lot is narrow and well-​kempt and the snack options are a bit overpriced and limited (candy, chips, Smart Water, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, Powerade), so it’s apparent that the resources are spent on the facilities, which is a good thing.
I really hope that the Save The Los Angeles River folks can drum up enough support to keep this wonderful facility in community hands for the foreseeable future — apparently the proprietor is trying to raze the tennis section and build 200 condos, that would be an unfortunate loss for Studio City and people of the San Fernando Valley.

This has been my home every Friday night for the past 5 years. I’ve heard this place is closing down to build condos which will be unfortunate because tennis here is awesome. There is always plenty of parking and the courts are well maintained. Avoid courts 15 and 16 at night because the lighting sucks!

I would give it 4or5 but I have kids and they do not and will not give junior rates. I have asked, begged and pleaded. I have called SCGA and they said they get a lot of complaints as well…
Cmon owners… where’s your heart??? Give the kids a break!

Love this driving range! Friendly, down-​to-​earth. Could hang out here all day.

Really good place to come and play tennis. Super friendly front desk staff work here. I usually play night time and it’s very relaxing and quiet, great lighting for the courts at night time.
