Wow, what a great find on our impromptu road trip! The steaks are really tender. (I would have given 5 stars, but my steak was rare — I ordered medium rare). I fed the rarest parts to my husband, though I should have returned it.
My husband ordered the walleye and though I don’t like fish I though it was delicious (read as not fishy). Our waitress was new but did her best. I loved the décor in the hallway leading to the rest rooms, very creative. GPS didn’t take us to the right spot, but I’m glad we found this locally owned gem!

In Michigan for a funeral and staying in Sturgis. This place came up on Unilocal so we decided to give it a try. Small storefront place on main street across from the movie theater. I ordered the Aloha burger and I must say it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. Fresh lettuce, fresh toasted bun, juicy beef cooked to perfection. Add a healthy portion of shaved ham, pineapple and swiss cheese with a jerked BBQ sauce. Two thumbs up all the way around.

We have been there four times. Excellent food and moderately priced. Good bar specials. Prime rib on a Friday night was excellent, breakfast sandwich with avocados was amazing. Great spicy burger. Wait staff could be a little more professional but give good service.

Very busy Friday night but service was great! Had the prime rib and was not disappointed! Don’t forget the sweet potato fries either. Craft beer selection is one of the best in town as well.

Take the 5 minutes to drive past the chains and enjoy a good meal in quaint downtown Sturgis. Solid menu with rotating specials. I have visited Boundary Waters a handful of times over the past three years and return each visit.

I went in for lunch today with two of my coworkers and it was awesome. The server was great and between the three of I think we ordered at least one of each of the lunch specials. The food was great, the service was fast and attentive, the orders were accurate, and the interior has a pretty unique décor. You can tell that somebody spent a lot of time on it. Really great experience.

I live in Boston and ordered clam chowder from Boundary Waters… it was really good! I had the blackened steak salad & it was fantastic. I was waited on by Michelle I think was her name — prompt, courteous and very friendly. Would definitely recommend!

This is a delightful little place. Clean. Cute décor. The menu itself is cool — wooden with paper insert. Lots of choices — beef, chicken, fish, seafood, vegetarian.
We order a shrimp appetizer. The sauce was terrific. Spicy and sweet. We split an order of bacon mac and cheese. It came with salad and garlic bread. The pasta was cooked well and the cheeses were quite tasty. They use a few different kinds to keep it interesting. Real bacon. Generous portion. The kitchen even split it for us, even though we didn’t ask.
Service was friendly and efficient. We went early on a Tuesday, so it was not crowded.
We will definitely go back.

Would have been a four star rating if it wasn’t for the awful steak I was served. Avoid the «BW Mushroom Steak». There was so much fat in my steak that I had to discretely spit two out of every three bites into my napkin. This restaurant should be ashamed to serve this horrible cut of meat. I found a portion of steak that was about 2×3 inches which was fat free. I tried to savor this piece but it was rather tasteless.
On to the «rich, wild mushroom marsala sauce». Now, no sauce was going to save this steak, but a marsala sauce that has not been rendered down? Lame. The flavors didn’t have time to intensify and the mushrooms were rubbery. At first, I thought they were canned mushrooms. No, just a chef who was either rushed or just didn’t care.
Stick with their wraps, sandwiches, and soups which are all pretty good.

Received a gift card for Boundary Waters recently and finally decided to use it! Glad we did. Its much smaller and more quaint than I had expected but excellent nonetheless. The food was delicious, app to entrée. Waiter was polite and prompt. We had the beer cheese and pretzels for an apetizer, 10oz Ribeye and 12oz Strip for dinners. We will be back.

We were looking for a quick place to grab a bite while on a road trip. We took a detour to go to boundary Waters Café and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is charming and the food is made from scratch. Service was terrific. Special changes were made without hesitation.

Love it. Located on the south side of the main street of Sturgis which is actually Chicago Rd/​HWY12. The menu and plating is modern. Wood floors, tall ceilings, and a small bar. I was there for lunch and everything from the panini and my own fish tacos were good. A little different for me having pan fried fish in a fish taco, but out came 3 small tacos with their own special spicy sauce and it was excellent. They looked beautiful on the plate and tasted great, light, fresh, and filling. The prices are more than fair and it’s a lovely place. It looks like their menu is different than what is shown on the restaurant’s web site. The lunch menu was delightfully diverse and I had a hard time deciding which treat to try. It’s not a typical lunch diner it’s a café! It’s well worth the 5 minute drive off the interstate.

To be fair, this is probably the best restaurant around. Lovely little restaurant, very nice and accommodating waitress. Food isn’t what it should be. The fish in the fish tacos was very tasty, the tortillas were not only cold, but cracking, like they were dried out from 3 days ago. Beans were so dry that each one laid on the plate by itself. Same with the rice.
My husbands burger was over cooked. They re-​did it and it was fine. They offered us complimentary dessert but we passed, it was difficult to believe it wouldn’t be dry. That being said, the food was real, not packaged and the options are very limited in this small town. I would return if I had to spend the night here again, but be very specific about my expectations when ordering.
