We seek out unique treasures for you that have been created by fairly paid artisans, working in safe, healthy conditions, seeking to be environmentally sustainable.

Jewelry in silver, pewter, tagua, semiprecious stones. Handwoven natural fiber scarves, holiday ornaments, ceramic and wood serving dishes, unique treasures.

We travel to Guatemala and Mexico to buy directly from artisans, markets, and women’s coops. We also source from fair trade businesses and other ethical sources.

History

Established in 2006.

Owner Devik Wyman first visited Guatemala in 2000 and was fascinated with the country, the people, and the exquisite handcrafts. She was inspired to learn more about the women in Guatemala and their economic, political and personal struggles. In her subsequent trips she has supported Guatemalan artisans by buying their products to sell in her store. Some of the ornaments featured at Mango Tree were designed by Devik, in collaboration with a Guatemalan artist who embroiders birds.

Wyman also visits Mexico and other countries, with her husband Tim Brainerd, to locate sterling silver jewelry, glass, ceramics, weavings, and Oaxacan carvings — vividly painted animal sculptures.
