This place has so much potential, yet the people who are running it are completely unorganized. The woman who did our wine tasting had a serious attitude and made us feel uncomfortable. Went with a group on Mother’s Day, and ordered multiple bottles/glasses of wine throughout the day. Arrived at 12:30pm and at 3:30pm we still did not receive our food. Ended up cancelling our orders and leaving to go eat somewhere else. Nice place to sit outside if it’s not over-crowded, but other than that the wine is not even good. I doubt after that experience I would return, and if I did, it would purely be for atmosphere. Not the wine or the food.

The property is beautiful the house is beautiful the service is horrific. We went to the winery to enjoy Mother’s Day. The weather was perfect the wine was good but the service was sub par. After an hour waiting for our food order I complained to the manager. She told me that«no more new food orders were coming out of the kitchen». I repeated that my food was ordered an hour ago. She suggested that I have some bread and butter and followed that up with, «you could just pay the bill and forget the food»! This woman could not care less about satisfying customers. What a shame because this place could really be something special under professional management. These armatures are way over their heads. Skip this place and go to Warwick.

The owners are the NICEST people! A group of us took a 3-winery tour of the Hudson valley and Torne was our last stop. Due to some hiccups with our limo driver we didn’t arrive at Torne until 5:25(they close at 5:30) and they still let us in for a tasting! They’re lovely people, their wines are delicious and they’ve got good prices. I will definitely be going back!

I attended a wedding here and flew in from California for the occasion. What a pleasant surprise this place was and not at all what I expected. Like a little oasis not far from NYC. As a friend of the bride’s family, with a lot of us coming in from Los Angeles, they told me how nervous they were about planning a wedding so far away, but it all went off without a hitch. They had the cocktail hour inside the house, which was like a Victorian Mansion and the ceremony took place on an outdoor patio with views of vines and a river. Just a complete difference from the weddings here in LA where they always seem to be on the beach. something nice about having it in the countryside, which was not what I expecting when I was told we were going to New York. The bride’s Dad even took time to give a toast to the general manager who had gone out of his way to make sure every detail was perfect. In many ways I wish I had known about this place when I got married, but I would have been flying two families across the country… given how nice this was, it might have been worth it.

The grounds are breathtaking and the entertainment for the most part fun! But it stops there… the arrogance of the staff and owners unfortunately ruin the ambience. After waiting patiently for more than two hours for: a panini, sandwich, chicken dumplings and French fries, we inquired about the order and surprisingly the response from the waiter«you need to work with me… your order is still five tickets back» was appalling and unacceptable! I spoke with the owner who portrayed the same rude, obnoxious behavior as well as obviously no knowledge of customer service. Imagine… The owner offered the information that others were waiting longer than us! Instead of the owners parading around and the wife singing like a crying cat on stage, they might have jumped into the kitchen and helped get the orders out or how about this … hire more kitchen staff. Restitution for inconvenience or aggravation … none! Glad I didn’t attend the same business school they did! Oh yes… after we canceled the order and we were settling our bill, getting up from the table and leaving… the food arrived. Amazing to see such chaos and no organization in one place! Such a great experience here on Saturday. I chose Torne Valley after doing some Unilocal searching, as it was close to my apartment and seemed like an adorable winery based off the pictures. We were greeted at the front desk where all of the options were clearly explained to us. We decided to do the tasting which included 7 wines(normally 8 but they were out of one red wine) for 7 bucks– which was well worth it. The woman pouring our wines was extremely knowledgable and gave us interesting details about each of the wines she poured. We then decided to enjoy a glass of one of our favorites(Chardonnay) from the tasting at a table outside(followed by a second glass of the sangria). There was live music and great service, which made the ambiance relaxing and enjoyable. We weren’t planning on eating there but the dishes coming out looked so good that we decided to split the chicken panini and the Torne Valley Salad– which were delicious! The service and the ambiance made visiting TVW such a pleasant experience and I will definitely be back!

Definitely not what I expected from what I read online. When we drove up to the place we were disappointed but since we where already here we gave it a shot. The price is $ 5.00 pp, which I found a little over priced given that you don’t get anything for that other then getting in to the place, it should be $ 5.00 per car. Once we parked, there is really nothing to do or see, they have no grape vines, their flier mentioned grape stopping which is really a bucket in the middle of field that people can take turns. They state that they has local vendors with crafts which was really only like 5 tables. We basically stayed here for 10 mins and left, definitely a waste of money. Would not recommend or come here again.

What a great surprise just minutes away from the hustle and bustle. Driving up you feel like you are in the French countryside. Gorgeous grounds and building. We went on a beautiful Sunday and it was crowded, get there early since the atmosphere makes lingering a compulsion! Small menu designed to pair with wine and craft beers has something for everyone. Cheese plate is big enough for sharing, angus burgers, and the lemon Parmesan waffle fries were a hit! Small band playing to accompany sipping and conversation. Would love to see more seating and maybe a strolling path to explore around the grounds.

Just spent a couple hours at Torne Valley Vineyards. Best kept secret in this area. My girlfriend & I shared an excellent salad & portobello panini. Hip Replacements were playing(excellent) & the view looking down to the river is spectacular. The food, service, drinks, tunes, & grounds were great. We’ll be back often!

I came here for a label unveiling event on Saturday afternoon. The house is lovely and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. There are tables outside, but it was windy the day I was there. My friends ordered lunch which they said was okay. There was live music, so I think it’s a great place to dine, drink wine and mellow out. I did the wine tasting for $ 8.00, which offers a flight of their 8 wines: 2 reds and 6 whites. The quality of all the wines is great, although not all were were my taste. One of the Reds, Kimmie’s Choice is a yummy blend. Mine was served by Kimmie herself. I look forward to returning with a designated driver so I can enjoy myself the way I’d like.

I’m giving the Torne Valley Vineyards three stars because the grounds and vineyard were beautiful, but the service was cold and inattentive. Granted, we went during the Grape Crush Festival, so I think they were a little overwhelmed. However, we arrived at the check-in desk to buy tickets for the wine tasting and the person attending the desk took our money and gave us no directions or information. We stood there awkwardly, not knowing where to go, and after inquiring, «Is it that way?», she responded, «No. The other way», all the while barely looking in our direction. The people running the tasting were equally as rude. For each wine we got no information — not even a name(we had to read off the information from a sheet on the counter. After rounds of this, we moved farther down to the end of the bar and ended up being helped by a server who was thoughtful, attentive, and very nice, and we stayed at her end of the bar for the remainder of the tasting. Most of us bought a bottle at the end just as a «thank you» to her. However, all four of us were put off by how cold the staff was to our party, especially since they seemed especially chatty and warm to nearly everyone else. That being said, the grounds are beautiful. I’m willing to chalk it up to them being very busy and overwhelmed by the ongoing Grape Crush festival. It’s worth a visit, and at $ 7/tasting, it’s a lovely option for an outing in the area.

The wine tasting is great from the selection of wines, to the history of the grounds. The patio has a decent while simple menu and the white sangria pitcher is fun. Sitting outside on a beautiful day allows you to truly appreciate the natural surroundings. Its peaceful and serene even when the live music might be boisterous.

On a whim we decided to take my mother her for her birthday and were pleasantly surprised! Granted, it was an absolutely gorgeous Sunday afternoon, so that raised the bar a bit, but the place really is an excellent wine oasis with decent food and a very scenic look. We sat outside, drank to our hearts content, and listened to some great live music. The staff was super friendly, the wine was not too expensive, and the décor was great. Recommended.

I’m going to keep this simple. This place is great! Great grounds, great reasonably priced lunch menu and wines(for NY state), great friendly service(Samantha was a delightful waitress), great and helpful owners, and great entertainment(the HipReplacements were there today-4/26). Come on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, sit inside or outside to enjoy the music and the surroundings, have a glass of vino with a very tasty lunch of paninis, salads or pasta. This is a perfect place to have a quiet lunch with a loved one or a big fun table of friends. ‘Nuff said. Come here and have a great experience at Torne Valley Vineyards.

This is a great local winery if you live in Rockland or nearby. Ample seating(including outdoor patio), limited café menu, good wines, live music on weekends, friendly tasting staff. It’s popular on weekends especially when the weather is nice. The menu is a little overpriced, but the food is decent enough and pairs easily with the wines. The grounds are beautiful. I like to visit every few weeks.
