Lanier Animal Hospital

We brought our 13 year old lab in to be put to sleep. She had nasal cancer. From the person who booked our appointment, to technician, to veterinarian were all so compassionate. Dr. Keith took the time to explain everything. They gave us all the time we needed to make decision and say our goodbyes. They brought a blanket for our Bella to lay on, and I know they will take good care of her until we pick up her ashes. It was a wonderful experience for what it was. Thank you!
Also, facility clean and very nice, complimentary drinks, plenty of parking, and on par pricing.

Lanier Animal Hospital is amazing!
My two dogs have been going to Dr. Mavis for most of their lives and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with their health!
I have worked with animal rescue for years and have worked with quite a few veterinarians, and I wouldn’t take my dogs to anyone else — even for free!
Lanier Animal Hospital is immaculate and the veterinarians and technicians are friendly and thorough. Their «bedside manners» are impeccable and can tame even the most skittish dogs — like mine. It’s no secret that most dogs hate going to the vet! But, it certainly makes me feel wonderful that they take the time to put their patients at ease and not terrorize them.
Dr. Mavis has always taken as much time as I have needed to answer any questions I have had — and, to me, that is worth gold.
Once, when one of my dogs went in for an operation, Dr. Mavis, who knew I was a nervous wreck, allowed me to watch while she was operating. That showed me that she was confident, that the operating area was immaculate, and that my little boy was in excellent hands.
In a couple of reviews here, some people have said that Lanier Animal Hospital was pricey. In fact, they are not near the highest priced veterinary hospital. Health isn’t where you want to go bargain shopping.
They have never tried to talk me into expensive and/​or unnecessary procedures.
When it comes to the health of myself or my beloved pets — I want the BEST!
Lanier Animal Hospital and Dr. Mavis has also been very generous with rescue organizations and donated time and healthcare to rescued animals!
I will always support a business who is generous enough to help needy animals and give so much to their community!

My son’s turtle developed an abscess on the side of his face (ear). Dr McCormick-​Rantze did a procedure and treatments and now Charlie is back to his normal self! Thanks LAH!

Amazing! 2 weeks ago, one of my guinea pigs (Tater Tot) was not acting normal. Being that most vets do not handle «exotic animals’, I was relieved to find Lanier Animal Hospital did. Dr. Mavis McCormick-​Rantze was able to get me in immediately and conducted a full examine on Tater Tot. Not only did she have excellent «bed side manners», but she conducted several tests and explained her findings in terms I could understand. The next day, her staff called to follow up then later Dr. Mavis McCormick-​Rantze called too. Sadly, the following morning Tater Tot passed away, but I was left with the confort in knowing that this staff did everything they could to help him. In addition, I received a condolence card which showed me the staff truly cared about my pet and my loss.
I would recommend this location to everyone that needs a qualified vet.

If you want your pets to be treated by a vet whose main concern is how much she can charge and get away with it, go here. Otherwise find another vet. I needed help trimming one dew claw that my old dog had licked until it was swollen. I was handed a $ 190 bill for this nail trim ($ 30 for a «fractured nail repair», $ 20 for a «small bandage», $ 50 for «exam and consultation» which did not occur, and $ 90 for antibiotics for a non-​existent infection). Two young techs took my dog directly to the back to trim the claw. My dog was not limping or bleeding when she arrived but twenty minutes later she came out limping with a bandaged foot because the techs had cut the quick so deeply it bled like crazy.
I attempted a calm and professional discussion with the owner about being charged for the tech’s mistake to no avail. Bottom line — beware.

My boyfriend & I go here with our two husky puppies. The staff are wonderful so nice & helpful. Also the Doctor’s are knowledgeable, friendly and are always looking out for the best interests of our pets. To be honest it’s a little pricey but well worth it to ensure our pets receive the best care.
The last time I went in my puppy was sick and instead of telling me they were booked solid & telling me to schedule an appt. another day they squeezed me in immediately to ensure my puppy was okay. They always call to check up on our animals after they visit, they take photos and give you printed reports of all exams done, stats, directions for medication given (if any), and all fees. The reports are my favorite part because I love knowing she’s checking for all these things every time go in. This is by far the best vet I’ve been to.
