The Design Source began approximately 30 years ago when Jeanne Garland had a dream of having her own interior design firm. Our first professional showroom was located at the park in Sugarcreek. After a few years The Design Source rapidly grew and eventually needed more space to accommodate the increasing demands of customers and clients. Now located at 3644 Hwy 6 @ Settlers Way in Sugar Land, The Design Source, owned by Ampika Blackburn, showcases a 5,000 square foot showroom filled with exquisite furniture, rugs, and accessories. Our firm now has 6 designers and our portfolio includes designs spanning the United States with projects from San Francisco to Russia. Our designs, not just include furniture and drapes, but also include selections to build a new home or remodel an old one. We work closely with builders and our clients to build them a house that is functional, beautiful, and affordable for them. Come in and let us design for you.

History

Established in 1983.

The Design Source started off with the vision of Jeanne Garland. Jeanne Garland first attended design school at the University of Houston and Houston Community College. Not long after graduating she became an A.S.I.D. allied member and T.A.I.D. certified. Friends and family were her first clients and from here the Design Source (formerly known as Designer Enterprises) took off. Our first professional showroom was located at the park in Sugarcreek. After a few years The Design Source rapidly grew and eventually needed more space to accommodate the increasing demands of customers and clients. Now located at 3644 Hwy 6 @ Settlers Way in Sugar Land. Now the firm has 6 designers and other staff. All the designers have degrees in Interior Design and the designers have licenses from the state of Texas. Our Design team is very knowledgeable and successful.
