Visible Changes

I had such great experiences here up until my last haircut. I went in wanting my hair to be tapered to change it up before an important event the next day. The lady who washed my hair was so rude, seemed like she didn’t care at all to be there or be washing my hair, but I thought to myself that it didn’t matter because I would have a different stylist after she was done. Unfortunately, the same lady was my stylist and I was so uncomfortable. I told her I wanted my hair tapered and the first thing she said was «I wouldn’t get that if I were you I hate that haircut.» I have gotten it before so I knew I wanted it, and so I told her that’s exactly what I wanted to do to my hair. She rolled her eyes and again said commented how she didn’t want to and hates how that style looks on people. This made me so much more uncomfortable since I was trusting her with my hair and seemed like she didn’t care at al. Throughout the haircut, she made awful comments like «oh yeah… this is a haircut I would NEVER recommend to a client.» She would say these things after cutting of copious amounts of my hair. Halfway through her coworker turned around and said it looked really good, which made me feel a little better. But the techniques she used were incorrect and unlike anything I’ve seen before wth this hairstyle and made me worry more. When I was finished, my hair was horrible. I’ve been growing my hair out for years and she had chopped it all off, and it was so uneven it looks like a toddler cut it. Instead of a smooth v line in the back it was choppy and looked like a bunch of rectangles stacked next to each other. I was so upset. I went in the next day even though I had to be at my important event 3 hours away since I couldn’t go like I was. The new lady did a great job fixing my hair but had to cut most of it off to fix the damage. I went from my hair being hip length to just past my shoulders… I am terrified to come back here and have my hair butchered again.

On 06÷04÷16 we called to have an appointment with a Master Cutter at the Visible Change Salon in First Colony Mall for my 2yr old. The appointment was scheduled at 1pm. We arrived at the location around 12.55pm. We were scheduled with Randel and unfortunately her appointment for 12.30pm was running late and told us we have wait for 1 more hour and she mentioned she is a senior stylist not a Master Cutter, which whoever answered the phone LIED to us that we were scheduled with a master cutter. We really do not understand why we have to wait since we were on time and her another appointment was late, in a normal place of business she could have taken care of us first since we were on time and then taken care of her late appointment. Upon raising our concerns to the front desk associate Kelly, she mentioned there is no appointment available for a Master Cutter until 4:30pm, which we really did not understand why we had to wait this long since we already had an appointment scheduled at 1pm! The front desk associate Kelly went and called for a manager. A manager by the name of Rosanna approached us being very rude, unprofessional, unethical and uneducated. She treated us with a lack of respect when we asked who took our appointment and can we get the associates name that provided us with inaccurate information. The manager never apologized or even made an attempt to get our 2 year old child in for a haircut. The manager requested that we get out of the store and called First Colony security on us. We were not only humiliated in front of our 2 year old child, but in front of the complete mall crowd which was totally uncalled for. We did not curse, threaten or disrespect her or her associates in the store; we simply wanted to get the service we requested for our 2 year old. Upon seeing the security my 2 year old was so frightened and began crying. We really do not think Rosanna is a professional manager to this brand of Visible Change. She was very defensive upfront and never made an attempt to hear us out. She treated us like trash coming to her store from the streets which was really upsetting to my family. If she stays as a manager, the BRAND of Visible change will be destroyed and will lose many current and future customers such as myself. The most upsetting part is she told the mall security that we are not allowed to return to her store. I have the proof in writing from the security officers which is signed by officer Ebanks notifying all this issue. My dear customers if you do not want to be treated as trash and unprofessional, please stay away from this Visible Change store at First Colony Mall.

I treated my Mom and MIL to a hair cut on Mother’s Day and I also got mine cut. I can only really rank on Kevin given that he was my stylist. So this is tailored to Kevin and the overall impressions my moms had.
Kevin did a good job on me and he was funny to talk to during the cut. He spent a lot of time shampooing and making sure my hair was «squeaky clean» since he told me that I had some build up. Not a fan of being told that I have lots of buildup, but yay for the additional deep massaging!
On my cut, although he did get the shape I wanted, he ended up doing WAY more than just a trim. I always get a steep V cut. The last hair stylist messed it up, and I was hopeful that Kevin would be able to do it since he seemed younger and more in touch with modern hair styles. With the steep V, the key is to start in the front with the steep cut down to the longest length in back, and then trim. Everyone keeps starting from the back, and it ends up WAY shorter than I’d like. The only time is has come out perfect, was when I has a stylist use a razor– which I understand most places don’t do.
Leaving, I ended up with shoulder length hair after coming in with waist length hair. I am not liking my haircut at all. However, this isn’t just based on mine, and my moms were both happy with their cuts.
Check in and out was very easy and the ladies at the front were friendly.
Overall, I may come back but opt in for a higher level stylist next time to make sure I get someone who has done many of these «trickier» cuts.

The most important things to please and takecare of the customers. But unfortunately they do not. They leave me after color my hair with marks in all my face and did not clean well. Also they did even dry my hair with towel and not brush it. I did not ask for blue dry but I am customers with the other branch in the Gallarie and I was very happy and satisfied their. This one in Sugarland very bad customer services. Even I complain but they do not care.

Like someone has mentioned, I think with a place like this, your experience will be heavily dependent on who your hair stylist is. I’ve frequented the Barton Creek location in Austin with the regular stylist and wasn’t blown away nor was I upset. However, today I had the opportunity to meet Cole, who is a senior stylist, and he was great. I showed him a few pictures of the hairstyle I wanted and also mentioned I wanted a lob. He took the time to explain to me that the girls in my pictures didn’t have lobs just to make sure that he and I both understood what I wanted. I ended up getting a straight cut and I love it. He also took the time to show me how to style it without charging me for it for the first time. I’d definitely go back again and have Cole as my stylist!

Randal gave me a beautiful haircut! Would come back if I were closer to Sugarland but I’m mostly in NW Houston every day.

Victor Magic is the best thing at Visible Changes. He cares about his clients and the outcome of his work. Victor is the man!

Ana cut my hair and she did an amazing job! I didn’t even come in with a picture; I just told her what I envisioned. She listened to what I wanted, but also recommended different options based on her expertise. She blow dried my hair after the cut and it stayed nice and voluminous for a couple days after. There’s a lot of negative comments about this place, but I have nothing but positive results!

Sad to say I am done with Visible Changes for good… Their customer service just keeps going down hill. For $ 70.00 a haircut, I’m pretty sure I can find a great salon.

For the past 2 years now I have been going to Misty for my hair cuts and Esther for my color. This is the longest I haven’t changed hair dressers and they are both amazing! I definitely don’t plan on leaving unless they do! They both are extremely knowledgable about hair and products.

I’ve made so many complaints to corporate about this place and it appears to get worse. I think the new people being hired have horrible customer service abilities.
I’ve been a VC client since 1992 at Memorial, Galleria and Austin. But this particular location is poorly managed.
I’m sending a complaint tomorrow about the young lady who washed my hair after my hair coloring. Totally rude and ignorant.
Past complaints to corporate: nasty hair near the front area, workers discussing selling products to another customer while working in your hair, being yelled at for having hair color in your forehead, and starting an appointment an hour and a half late.
This facility is the worst VC I’ve been a patron of but since I live in Sugarland, I’m not going anywhere.
For this last issue, the manager a Ms. Rosina Sicilia reprimanded me in front of the front entry area and stated that I complain about everything. Can you believe it? I told her I had legitimate concerns. Then I told her I’d notify corporate, again. Very sad situation and their clients seem to be lessening at this place too.

I am shocked with the way things went down with them!
Long story short, a big waste of our time and a huge disappointment with their communication and customer relations. No apology or compensation was offered for their mistake. Moreover, they refused to honor the rate we were promised for our rescheduled appointments!
Here’s our experience:
Monday: my mother, sister, and myself went personally to the saloon and had our hair checked to determine which treatment we should get and how much it’s going to cost us. We agreed and made appointments for the three of us the next day (Tuesday) which includes a 20% discount!
Tuesday, the day of the scheduled services: we are all IN OUR WAY driving from Houston to Sugar Land and we receive a call that they cannot accommodate the three of us back-​to-​back as scheduled and that one of us will have to be pushed at least 3 hours!!!
Although it was very inconvenient for us since we are almost there, we still asked to be rescheduled for the day after so that we’re all back-​to-​back and they say that they can do so. Perfect, right? Heck no, because they will not honor the 20% discount on Wednesday! This was the exact final answer we received when we asked them to honor the price we were quoted for Tuesday: «unfortunately, we will not be able to give you the 20% discount tomorrow, so I am going to cancel all the appointments now. Ok?»
Our time was hugely disrespected and we do not appreciate the way Visible Changes Saloon handled it.

I went to get my roots touched up and get a caramel colored toner put on my highlights and explained it exactly that way to Elenny. She dyed half my head jet black so half my hair was a solid dull black! It’s so ugly! I called the front desk to make an appointment to have my hair fixed .Then I got a call from Elenny who argued with me saying «well that’s the look I thought you were going for».um no. The next day I went back to Elenny to get my hair fixed. I explained to her what color I wanted my hair. After my hair was dry It was still really dark. I told her it looks lighter on top and still dark on the sides! She said yeah well the light hits the top of your hair so it will look lighter and rolled her eyes. This was a complete waste of time and money. This «color director» what a joke… has a bad attitude, was extremely rude, unprofessional, inexperienced and seemed so over her job!

I went to the visible changes in first colony mall located in sugar land, tx and had a horrible experience! I’m writing to complain about your hairstylist by the name of Cole. I told him I wanted front side bangs with layers with wispy ends but he was all over the place, totally inexperienced!
1. I asked him if he could use the blade to give my hair the wispy look at the end of my layers, but he simply started cutting my hair using the blade right from the start, didnot even bother to use the scissors first, seemed like he was trying to rush things…
2. Then I asked him to blow dry my hair and give me light curls at the ends of my layers, but he curled my hair all the way.
3. Finally when it came to the front side bangs, he totally had no clue, how to make them, he sounded too inexperienced, although I also managed to pull up a picture on my fone to show him what I wanted, he was still up in the air about everything…
Finally… I just gave up on him, paid and left! I paid $ 50 for this disappointing experience! Cole spent 1 hour on my hair and turned it into is a complete mess, I don’t see any layers, don’t see any wispy ends, just 2 –3 front side bangs that I could’ve gotten done at some gas station hair salon for $ 5.

For places like this your experience will be 95% dependent on who your stylist (s) is/​are, the other 5% is the front desk, shampoo, etc.
With that said… I always see Elennys for my color and she is amazing. I’ve been seeing her for years for high lights, low lights, all over color…
I used to get my hair cut here, but the guy left and I followed him to the next place because once you find someone you like for your hair you should always stick with them!

Terrrible. I made an appointment… got there, checked in, and 30 minutes later no one has said a word to me… so I asked the guy at the front who said, «he’s working on it.» 15 min later, still nothing. After wasting 45 minutes, I ended up canceling my appointment and just going somewhere else. Half the stylists were just standing in a little group chatting. This place sucks.

Had the worst salon experience of my life. Definitely stay away from Eleana — their hair colorist. And their manager is extremely unprofessional.

Love Johnny! he was fabulous. Kelly washed my hair and was super sweet. Plus I got a discount for being a high school student! Awesome place. Will return.

I asked for something natural looking and came out looking like a goth! Think Sharon Osborune or Rhianna red!
I complained to the manager that my color was too dark and unnatural looking and it wasn’t what I asked for and she was a straight witch to me. The only thing she offered to do was for them to wash it (after I had just had it blow dried and styled) it was also 8:50 PM at the time and I was just ready to go home. She tried to embarrass me into leaving and kept telling me it was supposed to be dark after dying it– No, not this dark!
She really wouldn’t do anything to help resolve the situation she just kept bringing the colorist over to try to «explain» things to me and keep moving me in different parts of the salon under «different light». Uhhh if my hair looks weird in your salon lighting that’s pretty bad.
$ 150 down the drain and no help from the salon to fix their mistake.
I had an extensive conversation and showed the stylist pictures of what I wanted. It was a simple all over color but they even messed that up.
Xoicihi (Sochi?) was my colorist and please, please do not use her unless you’re into the goth look. My hair color was borderline unprofessional looking for work even after I had stated I wanted something natural like fifty times.

10÷1÷2014 I sent an email to the one listed in the comment below explaining my situation. Someone from the corporate office called me about two hours later and set up an appointment for me at the Memorial City location to get my color fixed– they did an excellent job there and you can see my separate review for the Memorial City location. The Memorial City manager there even came to check on me and make sure everything was to my liking despite the fact that the error occurred at a different location.
I am still going to have to give this location 0 stars because the manager and colorist treated me so bad. If I was unhappy they shouldn’t have bickered and belittled me instead they should have set an appointment the next day and lightened my hair for free instead of me having to call the corporate office. It looked nothing like the picture! They can try to say it did– but it didn’t and all my coworkers the next day were pretty horrified at my hair.
I would also like to note that in the past I was a client of Visible Changes in The Woodlands and then the Galleria for 7 or 8 years? Maybe more, maybe less. I had a very good experience there until one bleaching incident but I thought I’d give VC another shot so I went to First Colony since I now live closer to this one.
So, still 0 stars for First Colony because of the horrible manager. She had 0 people and customer service skills.

This place is overprice
They ask if u want to condition ur hair and add 5 dollar extra!!! They put it on for 10 sec and wash it off! Would recommended everyone not to come here!
