Solano Heating & Air Conditioning

I was in the final stages of hiring a contractor and was told to call them for an honest approach to a heating and air problem in my home. The Technician Juan said he would arrive at 2pm and I later received a call he couldn’t come but the owner Ralph would instead. We really liked Ralph and hearing about his many years of expertise along with the solutions he suggested to achieve a goal of even temps upstairs and down. He wasn’t able to give a formal estimate but gave me a copy of another customers job invoice with prices that he had just did that was similar to my job.
I received a call a few days later from Dave who is the Manager and the one who writes the formal bids. We went over all Ralphs notes and he said he would talk with Ralph to confirms some discrepancies and email me a formal bid. I never received one.
I called a week later and he said «the owner has decided to not take on any new jobs/​customers». I said, «Does that mean he doesn’t want to take my job?» He said «Basically, Yes.» What a waste of mine and my husbands time after we spent several hours hearing all the great solutions Ralph had for us along with the sales pitch to get the PGE rebates all for nothing.
Don’t waste your time with this company. Unethical is how I would describe my experience since in the end they couldn’t pick up the phone and say they didn’t want the job. Getting an honest contractor is why I had them come out and in the end they were not honest. Ralph the Owner mentioned numerous times how he didn’t need any more jobs because he is so wealthy.

Here it is 11 months later, another problem going on with the system. Scheduled an service appointment today between the hours of 12−3pm. No show! No call on there ETA, it is 4:00pm, I called the secretary just 20 mins ago, she stated. there all out in the field and must be really busy … No call back on status like she promised. The customer service literally sucks!!!

Juan is the best! He was able to stop by the same day we called and identified the problem with our A/​C circuit breaker quickly that our Solar panel guy messed up. He was thorough, professional and reasonably priced.

Best of the best. Great service, reasonably priced. After a bad experience with another company, I called these guys. Juan shower up on time, assessed the problem, explained it to me and fixed it promptly. The next time you need heating and air people, call them first. They are the absolute best.

I have been dealing with Solano H & A/​C for over 20 years and not only do they have the best prices in the county, they are always professional and deliver quality craftmanship. George the Sheet Metal/​Shop worker definitely an expert at his long lost trade. If you want a quality HVAC experience and/​or require any custom sheet metal service. Give these guys a call. You won’t be disappointed.

Poor customer service! Had a tech come out to my place of business to check to see why our AC was not getting very cold and of course the tech (Juan) wanted to sell us a new compressor. The compressor is old so that was not the problem, the problem was how rude Juan (the tech) was. He was very snappy and rude and is defiantly not getting my business again. And to top it off… We were charged $ 120 for a hole 15min of work. Thanks Solano heating and Air for sending out your amazing employee JUAN! He was great! Ps if zero stars or negative stars was a option that’s what they would get.

I was very happy with them last year when they serviced my cooler. HOWEVER, this year they told me twice they would call me back to schedule an appointment and over 1 week later I still haven’t heard from them. VERY BAD!

I couldn’t be happier with this company. I called them after having problems with another company and the owner came right over told me what I needed and gave me a great price, the owners s his employee came to my house the next day (Saturday) to make the repairs. Very friendly and knowledgable. if you need A/​C repair or new install call this company

Today got a card in the mail advertising a special price on a Tune-​up and free Duck Test, that’s funny last month made an appointment with them because my Air unit stopped working, but they never showed up, when I called them back the next morning they didn’t know why no one showed up… I’m very happy with the service that I got from another company. Bad service… stay away…

My heating went out in this freezing 30 degree weather. I called Solano Heating & Air after hours and they sent out a technician out the next morning. I would highly recommend them…:)

My whole family have been using Solano Heating & Air conditioning for many years to repair any issue we have with our heating or air conditioning problems. The have always been on time and given great customer service. I highly recommended them.

What a great family owned business. Everyone helping each other to get the job done. Great with small jobs an large. Worked fast efficiently on my heater my landlord uses this company and i recommen them to anyone. Shop small business!!!

I hate to even give Ralph at Solano HEating and Air even one star! He is a shiester! He sold us an entire system with the contract stating in writing that we had a 10year parts warranty. After just over 8 years we had the heat stop working so we called Ralph and he said he «wasn’t going to reach into his pockets to pay for the part and it was going to be $ 1100 to fix it but he’d do it for $ 600 as a favor». Hello! RED FLAG! We immediatley called CA ENERGY SERVICE and Roger sent his tech Ed out to assess the problem, no part was needed all that was wrong was there was a loose wire that Ed corrected and the heat was on again! Dont ever hire Solano Heat and Air they need to be locked up for criminal behavior!

Solano responded to my BBB complaint that they did not try to sell me a new thermostat, even though I have it in writing on their invoice #10 599 dated 6÷10÷10. They personally attacked me instead of responding to my complaint, ignoring the Home Inspection Report I sent them with pictures of their job not being complete. So now I filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board.
They are furious that I wrote a review on Unilocal pointing out the FACTS, yet will not resolve the issues to turn it into a good review. I am updating the resolutions to be fair, and the only problem left is, for them to complete the job I paid $ 1620 for last June.
The PG&E Seal and Test I paid them $ 400 for passed, but they did not respond to either my, or PG&E’s, requests to send the report to me, so we all thought it might have failed. I talked to the person who printed the report, and he told me Solano could easily have logged on, printed it, and sent it to me without making this an issue.
I reminded them several times, after letting them know when I first called, that my Realtor, Ed Klotz, referred me to them. They have worked together for many years, but apparently Solano didn’t care what feedback Ed received. So I asked Ed if he could help me since he referred me, and he’s sorry, but they always did great work for him.
I’m sorry I didn’t know about Unilocal a year ago… almost all my experiences are matching the reviews I read, the ratings have been right on, and my «luck» is turning! This is my opinion from the past seven months looking for various contractors and a new vet, being new to the area.

I had a problem with my furnace and called these people for a fix it quote. Wow– what a mistake! They told me the entire blower on the furnace was broken and would have to be replaced for $ 600. That was a big fat lie because I called Dependable Heating and Cooling and they said it was a faulty switch and fixed the problem for $ 50. These people are con artists and rip offs. STAY AWAY!!!

Solano Heating and Air did a horrible job of installing our Air and Heating system. They installed our system without leveling it out and when the system ran, the water overflow pan leaked and caused thousands of dollars in damage to our ceilings and walls. They refused to repair, or even cover the cost of repairs. Also, they failed to repair the damage they did when installing our system in the attic. They damaged the entrance to the attic and it took multiple calls and threats to get a lousy repair to the entrance. Their repair broke of course within weeks and I found it easier to call a contractor to come and repair. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PROMISES!

So I ended up going through another company and they diagnosed the problem quick without the triple bypass thing that Solano had suggested over the phone for $ 600. Had they done it right the first time they would have noticed that oil was leaking. This proves to me that obviously they’re not competent at all and were just trying to milk me for more money. That and their rude receptionist that pushed us back a day was not cool at all.
