The tow service and security guards only take cash after you get towed, they take your car and park out on the outside street and wait for you, they say if you want your car back give us cash $ 100.00. Then they split the cash. They wait and hide for you to park in front of your house, while you go inside your home to unload your car they sneak up and take your car, not even 5 minutes. I was told by the management you are aloud to load and unload your car in front of house. So the security service we have don’t protect your home or car they are not on your side… money money money… and illegal bullshit.

Worst towing company ever. Gabriel, the manager is a cheat. They charged me $ 170 to tow my motorcycle 20 minutes down the road and managed to break my mirror off the bike and will not accept fault. I have before and after photos of the bike and it couldn’t be anymore obvious. It’s almost concerning that they’re denying responsibility for this after seeing the pictures… all you can do is laugh at this point. Do not use this company.

Terrible costumer service.
My car was towed last month (my fault) after picking up my car I noticed my driver side door had damage to it. The door does not close properly anymore so it rattles and you can hear the wind noise a lot as if the window was open while driving. They scratched my lock handle also.
I tried emailing them but doubt their systems even work. I also called and a rude receptionist answered with attitude. Called the office and they claimed it was not them and instead said it was maybe the bad neighborhood. So I’ll be filing a claim against them.

Called the company to have a car towed they were on time very polite and too nice to the person parked the wrong place … They got lucky the tow truck driver was kind enough not to tow their car

I’m sure that most people would think negative of a tow company, which also serves as a city impound yard. Good thing that my situation was not related to an impounded vehicle, lol! I have an older Winnebago Motorhome that broke down in the L.A. area because of transmission issues. Even as a guy, I felt a little helpless, knowing that I couldn’t push a vehicle this size on my own to get it out of the way. At least I wasn’t blocking traffic. I contacted AAA and they told me that the local towing company which covered the area I was in did not currently have the proper equipment to tow such a large vehicle. According to AAA, my situation required a «low-​boy» trailer for the tow.
They stated that the soonest the local tow company could respond would be on Monday morning…10:30 A.M. Mind you, I broke down on a Saturday afternoon! There was no way I could possibly wait so long! My destination was Victorville and there was no way I could afford to pay for such service from an independent tow company, considering the ridiculous amount they were quoting me!
So then, I opted for the next best option, which turned out to be the best. I asked AAA if they could possibly contact another tow company. Within a couple of minutes, AAA called me back explaining that John’s Towing had a low-​boy available and would be there as soon as they could, which would be approximately 3 hours and were coming from Sun Valley. I couldn’t complain and was grateful for their efforts… so I waited.
Sure enough, after approximately two hours and forty five minutes, John’s big-​rig arrived. The tow truck driver, George, was very professional and pretty cool. He took the time to carefully load my Winnebago on to the platform. I had the chance to ride along with him in the truck, «up the hill» to my destination. He even took the time to park it in the spot I requested!
Great service, great effort. Thanks guys!

Understanding and friendly– which is rare in the towing world in my experience. Best tow service I have found in LA.

You know I don’t understand some people, this towing service I believe impounds cars that’s why they are getting all these negative reviews. I just gave AAA a bad review because for all the money I spend paying for roadside assistance, I needed their help when I was stuck in the middle of the road and they wanted to charge me a arm and a leg becuase I didn’t have the valid card with me really ???
I was in a accident and the police Officer was demanding me to move my car becuase I was «Blocking the roadway» and he said if I don’t move it, he will move it for me. AAA being unhelpful in the moment where I needed help, I Unilocaled for help and Jon’s towing was my choice. They came so fast and automatically starting hooking up my car, the driver even told the Officer to shut up and that he will move my car soon. I only see 1 difference in a company that does not work with AAA and one that does, Jon’s towing was very helpful and gave me that sence of mind that they will help me through this nightmare. AAA seemed like they didn’t care and that it was my responsibility like «your on your own, we can help you». Knowing that Jons towking is there for the customer that thry just spoke to for yhe first time makes me think what all these reviews are actually about??? Don’t park where your not allowed. Risking parking somewhere that says you can’t will result in your car being towed… I mean is that a secret?
Having to pay becuase you thought you were smart and could get away is a FAIL on your end not anyone else.
I hope I don’t have to use Jon’s towing again but if I’m in a bind, I will make sure I do because I got a reasonable price, they got me out of the situtsion quick and know what they are doing.

As another review said, if I could give this place a zero, I would. First of all, the service was undeniably hostile and rude. I wouldn’t be surprised if profanity was in the the woman, who answers the phone, every day language. If they tell you they will be over in 20 minutes, you might as well go see a movie because they came one hour and 30 minutes later to serve us. Every time we called to see where their progress was, the woman who answered the phone would half heartedly attempt to persuade that it will only be «another twenty minutes.»
After a long, dragged out wait, the towing company finally came. Not to my surprise the amateur towers had lost their invoice and had to leave again to go searching for that piece of paper.
I absolutely will never contact this unorganized business for service ever. I recommend that you do not either.

Jon’s towing license should be revoked immediately. They tow cars without following local civil codes. They carelessly transport vehicles and barbarically store them in their trashy lot. Jon’s Towing tow cars by patrolling the area without property owner or manager’s written authorization and without reporting local law enforcement prior to a vehicle tow. Jon’s Towing driver unlocked my car doors by damaging my central locking system and exterior molding by use of a Slim Jim in order to release the emergency brake. They offer free towing signs to post in local business and possibly a kick back on every tow to the owner or manager of each property to be able to continue their illegal operation on daily basis. No Wonder they are up to 15 trucks in 15 yrs. In an era that most businesses struggle to survive and pay bills.
Before driving your car from the yard make sure to inspect under front and rear bumpers for road scratches during their high speed and carless commute to the yard.
If your car was towed in less then an hour in a commercial property (business, residential over 4 units), without written authorization from owner or property manager and without a call log to local police you should take Hovig (Jon) Gaboudian to Small claim court for damages.

Jon’s Towing are Private Party Impound Crooks.
Hovig «Jon» Gaboudian has a vile and poor demeanor that is surely going to assist in running himself out of business. He has made physical threats on multiple accounts. I can rest assured that he will never get another city or public contract to tow. I will make sure of it.

–The local Van Nuys judges are already familiar with Hovig Gaboudian, as he has been taken to small claims multiple times and has judgements. It’s an easy case. Judges don’t like corrupt towing companies. Nobody does.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
Jon’s Towing blatantly violates codes set in the vehicle code. This is SERIOUS. A violation of these codes could mean YOU ARE ENTITLED TO MONEY.
COMMON VIOLATIONS:
SIGNAGE:
–A sign should be at every entrance in plain view, at least 17×22, 1 inch font. If not, ***If they don’t comply with this, Jon’s towing is liable to pay you DOUBLE the storage or towing charges.
ASK FOR WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION: ***SO IMPORTANT!*** (subdivision «i» of vehicle code section 22 658)
–Jon’s towing is REQUIRED to get written authorization for each impound from someone OTHER THAN the tow company. In other words, they cannot scout parking lots themselves, towing cars without being called out and authorize. If they do, it is illegal. They HAVE to be called out and someone has to be physically present to sign off (i.e a property manager or owner). The authorization should list when your car was first seen, when it was towed, year, make, model, and who signed off on it (may be redacted if it was residential). It also should explain why it was removed and the time authorization was given. They are required to provide it PRIOR to retrieving the vehicle. This is serious. If they don’t comply with this, it’s basically vehicle theft! This is to protect people from corrupt towing companies.
***If they don’t comply with this, they are guilty of a misdemeanor and liable for 4X the amount of the towing and storage charges***
***If they charge an excessive rate, they are guilty of a misdemeanor, and are liable to pay you 4x the amount of storage and towing fees.
***If they don’t accept valid credit cards, they are guilty of a misdemeanor and are liable to pay you 4x the amount of storage and towing fees.
CALL THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY, see if they were contacted about the impound:
They are guilty of a misdemeanor if they do not notify the local law enforcement agency within 60 minutes after the vehicle is removed from the private property and is in transit or 15 minutes after arriving at the storage facility, whichever time is less.
***If they do not notify the local law enforcement agency of the impound within 30 minutes after the vehicle is removed from the private property and is in transit, they are civilly liable for 3X the amount of towing and storage charges.
They should also provide a notice stating «‘If you believe that you have been wrongfully towed, please contact the local law enforcement or prosecuting agency at [insert appropriate telephone number].’»
You cannot be towed in less than an hour in a commercial setting (non-​residential). VC 22 953
***If they are in violation, they are liable to pay 2X the amount of towing and storage costs.

Unethical business practice!
My vehicle was towed from a private complex and that same evening it was towed, one of Jon’s towers returned to the complex and was putting up signage in order to cover up their UNFAIR practices. I watched in disbelief as I went to return to my vehicle and found that it was gone. Because the tower returned to the garage (to put up signs), he gave me a business card to call and retrieve my vehicle. The person on the other line claimed that there was no one working at the lot to release my vehicle and purposefully made me wait until it was the next business day to release it! I felt that I was lied to because they clearly operate after normal business hours to release vehicles and they intentionally decided to PROLONG the vehicle recovery process.
Upon going to claim my vehicle the next business day (it was past midnight) the area was dark and desolate. I felt unsafe and was mistreated by the staff. The person that released my vehicle was 1) the same tower who towed my vehicle; 2) the tower that returned to the complex after he towed my vehicle to put up signage; 3) the tower who returned to the storage lot after midnight to release the vehicle to me!!!
Jon’s Towing provided POOR customer service. They were DISCOURTEOUS; they DELAYED the vehicle retrieval process (called them 4 times to try to retrieve my vehicle); they were DIFFICULT to work with; and they showed LOW moral character.

My friend’s van was towed a few day ago and we had no idea since it i for his business, but i called around 6 and told them the situation, they told me the office was closed and everyone was out for the day but the employee went out of his way to check if he had the van and they did. he was very helpful and told me the price, which i wont lie was a little high but it had been there for about a week so it didnt go over the $ 500s, over all they are way better than diamond towing here in LA

I really wish that I had gotten the driver’s name because he was truly excellent. He was professional, competent and great in every way. This service came through a contract via State Farm after an accident and these guys came from Sun Valley to Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills, dropped me off at home in Hollywood, and dropped the car off in Eagle Rock safely. 5 STARS and I would like to buy the driver a drink in appreciation. Seriously. Cheers!

I bought a 2011 corvette and to say I am a fanatic about keeping it in pristine condition, is an understatement. Two weeks after I got it, my ignition switch failed. I called Jon’s Towing because Unilocal showed they were the AAA service closest to my location. The person who answered the phone assured me that they would send out the right equipment and tow operator and take my car to the closest Chevrolet dealership. In less than 15 minutes a flatbed truck arrived. I wish I had gotten the name of the truck driver. He assured me my Corvette would be handled with tender loving care. I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the telephone operator and the tow truck driver. My Corvette and I arrived at the dealership safe and sound. Thank you Jon’s Towing for a job well done!

My husband accidentally parked in a tow zone where signs just recently went up. We’d been parking along that street for years! Ugh. Jon did actually tow my husbands car into his lot (it was just across from where he parked), but when my husband went looking for his car, Jon actually came out, let him know that he towed him and let him out FREE. He said its been happening to a lot of people recently since the street sign changed seemingly overnight. He said he felt bad. Really good guy. Thought for sure we’d have a $ 300 bill! Thank you for being awesome and human!

Crooks!!! My car was towed from a private residential condominium parking structure. According to the person I spoke with, their company does «patrolling ««of the parking structure almost every other night, all hours of the night, claiming the building management told them to do it, bullshit, the management denied the whole thing. They got total jerks running the place, one guy was either drunk or high on something, was yelling at people, the dog was barking uncontrollably, and the price they gave me to release my car was off the roof, beware !!!

These people are Liars! I have never experienced this in my life and hope to never again have to deal with them. I would have given a ZERO if I could have. My car was towed from my own complex that I live in. My permit had fallen from the rear view, either from me rushing or the door shutting– still in plain sight though– and I had still been towed — now that part is not their fault, it’s my own security officer’s fault. So after much arguing with said security officer, he said that if I take a picture of the permit in my car at the towing place and if whoever brought my car out to me when I got it out would fax a statement saying that the permit was in the car before I got it back, then my apartment complex would reimburse me. So AFTER the girl drove my car out to me, I took a picture of my permit and I asked her if she would write the statement and she said yes, but she has to have permission from her boss, the owner. After a week and a half of me calling every day, multiple times a day, trying to get the owner to talk to me but giving me the run around and avoiding me– he finally tells my security officer that I went out to my car and opened it up before I paid and placed the permit in my car to LOOK like it had fallen, and then they gave me my car back — we all know that’s not how towing companies work. They wouldn’t even let me go look for my own registration in my car. They wouldn’t let me anywhere near it til I paid them and they drove it out to me! The owner of this company is a flat out LIAR and is such a scum bag. I even told him that under normal circumstances I wouldn’t care so much, but that I haven’t been home in a year because of money problems and that was most my plane ticket money I had saved up (which is the absolute truth)– his response: I don’t care. —-the money wasn’t even going to come out of his pocket, he just doesn’t want to lose business with Cabrini Villas (which he wouldn’t!) I just cant believe he would flat out lie. And the girl can’t go ahead and write the statement because he would probably fire her. So, I lose respect for Cabrini for doing business with this awful man named «Jon»

I am excitied about our new business relationship with Jon’s Towing and the «Foothill Plaza». Being a store owner of «The Mails inn», I am hopping they may keep the riff raft from parking in our «very small» parking lot. We have 10 stores here and limited spaces for our customers. Yet being close to the freeway we see a lot of «park and ride» and cars parked for days in our parking lot! Welcome Jon’s Towing looking forward to working with you to get all this cleaned up!

My vehicle was towed, and I do not contest that. Because it is my fault. I picked up my vehicle the next day and just want to go home because of the stress and their location is scary. Not much street lights, and very ghetto.
As soon as i got home i noticed that there were some scratch that was made in my vehicle and called them. They gave me the run around and phone hang up. I believe the receptionist already kept my number so she’ll know when not to answer. I’ve reported them to AAA, since they are AAA affiliated.
I wouldn’t have written this bad review if there was not any scratch created OR at least there was someone I could talk to.

Jon’s towing is great! I was stranded for hours and he was the only one able to get my car towed. He is professional and took great care to be careful with the car, etc… He even gave me a ride home after we dropped the car off at the shop in Chatsworth… I live in Calabasas, so that was really kind of him to take me home. Great guy, great service! Will definately use again in the future when needed!
