History

Established in 2008.

Jennifer started this business with a love of sharing animals with children. After many successful years, Reptacular Animals has grown to more than 450 animals including a zebra, camel, reptiles, furry animals, parrots, farm animals, and ponies at three locations in SoCal. Many of the animals have been adopted or rescued and are now apart of the wonderful Reptacular Family.

Jennifer P.

Business Owner

Jennifer has always loved reptiles — the bigger, the better. Her passion is monitor lizards. While other girls might scream at the sight of a snake, this girl was the first to make friends with it. We found it impressive that while in high school she founded an animal club called S.O.A.P. (Student Outreach Animal Program) to raise money for animal charities. In fact, we thought this was such a terrific idea that we insist on giving a portion of the proceeds from our business to animal causes.

Jennifer also enjoys working with children. She was a playground supervisor, nanny, and a math and English tutor. Jennifer worked at child activity center where she taught kids values though stories and games. Currently she teaches the Animal Encounters class throughout the Los Angeles area and of course loves doing the Reptacular animal shows. Jennifer also teaches the Animal Encounters class at the Summer Art Academy in Valley Village every summer.

I am updating this to an extra star because the owner did try to reach out to fix but the issues of address and someone tasked with phone does hold true (it caused quite a bad impression and I noticed on Unilocal Sun Valley is also listed as address)
Original feedback:
The address on FB page is to the post office box and we drove there first only to find out its Slymar– a VERY hard to get to part of Sylmar so remote your cell won’t get reception!
$ 30 to get in was what they wanted to charge but I got pre sale $ 40 for two adults but on a rainy day the place is muddy, animals are wet and in cages with poop.
The owners were very nice and refunded $ 10 because of the FB address, one flyer for event didn’t have address at all AND no one answers the phone on the DAY of the event … Being that remote and you are expecting people to come that day… Someone should be TASKED with the phone

This was one of the best birthday parties we’ve ever thrown thanks to Reptacular Animals. The show held the attention of all the guests– young and old– from 2 – 62 years old!
James, our handler, was prompt and polite and super knowledgable. He was great with the kids and even started the show off by having everyone sing to my son.
Super super impressed. Would highly recommend. Only downfall is we were charged an additional travel fee but wasn’t that far… Still well worth it!!!

Reptacular Animals visits our kindergarten classroom every year. They are extremely responsive, organized, and easy to work with. Our presenter, Jennifer, is great with kids and super knowledgeable about all the animals presented. Our kids LOVE this hands on presentation. It is a favorite year after year.

Great b-​day party for my 5 year old daughter and her friends! We got the «pocket pet» party with rat, hamster, chinchilla, guinea pigs and bunnies. Jennifer was great with all the kids. She accommodated everyone: kids who wanted some extra time holding the animals and kids who didn’t even want to touch them. She kept everyone’s attention. The fact that it rained and we had to move the party inside didn’t phase her, she adjusted her plans on the spot without any problem.

Reptacular animals did an awesome job at my baby’s first bday party!!! The staff were amazing and they were very patient with all the kids that want to jump in and check out the animals even before it was ready to show (setting up and all that). Everybody had a great time (not just the kids but adults as well joined in the fun!). Everybody was talking about how great and fun the petting zoo is! Some of my friends even asked me about reptacular. My baby’s birthday got a lot more exciting because of REPTACULAR ANIMALS!!!

We hired Reptacular animal for our daughter’s bday party last Sunday and she was surprise to be the talk of the kids in school when she come back on Monday. There are 27 kids attended and everyone enjoy petting all the friendly animals during her bday. Everyone enjoy the presentation both kids and grown up. 2 thumps up. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of visiting the ranch for a birthday party. Jennifer and her team were extremely gracious and welcoming. Everyone (kids/​adults) loved the variety of animals available to play with and the surrounding area was very soothing. A perfect getaway from the city.

Excellent ! I booked a reptile show for my 6 year old. Amanda the animal handler was excellent with the children. She was patient, kind and knowledgable about her animals. One thing that really stood out was her ability to sense when the children really wanted to touch the reptiles but were feeling a bit afraid. She was kind and patient and slowly would encourage the children (and adults) to overcome their fears. She allowed everyone to feel the animals and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend them. It was the highlight of my party ! Thank you

They came to our school and were extremely knowledgable. The trainers taught our 2nd graders about habitats and ecosystems! It was interactive and entertaining. Great company!

We have used Reptacular Animals for our last 2 Christmas parties. We tried to reach out to other animal groups but had a hard time getting them to contact us back. We had a little trouble with RA but we think it might have somehow been connected with our email server as well. When I reached out to them via Facebook Messenger, they were on it! The cost went up a bit this year and I wish they had a few more animals for the price, however the staff they sent out both years were very friendly and worked well with the kids and families. The area where our party was is not the easiest to get into, but their team worked well to accommodate the situation and it was appreciated.

I had a bunny and smaller critter party (no mice or rats!!) for my 2 years olds party. It was Amazing!!! My 2 year old loved it and all the kids attending did too! My 6 year old now wants a chinchilla! The animals are all so cute and were very nice with the kids. The guy that brought the animals (Allen)was great with the kids and very knowledgeable about the animals. I would defiantly hire them again and recommend them 100%!

We just hired them for my son’s first birthday and they were a huge hit! We got the package with the ponies and the farm animals. My son was too young to appreciate it at 11 months, but his guests LOVED it!
The animals were cute, the handlers were soo friendly, and everyone came on time.
We will definitely hire them again!

Reptacular Animals (RA) were a huge hit at our sons 5th animal adventure birthday party!
Before the party, we took a tour of the ranch (see previous review) and had a great time! The variety of animals was great to see and even better was the caring and clean environment. We knew RA was our petting zoo!
We had approximately 20 animals, perfect shady spot, RA was on-​time, the staff/​handlers were fantastic & friendly and the animals were simply gorgeous & perfect!
Communication with RA was great and we are so pleased with the experience that I will absolutely recommend & use them again!

I’ m not sure what that other reviewer is saying. I was also at the 7⁄11 event in Sylmar today and came on Unilocal to leave a very positive review!!! My daughter had a GREAT time. The guy running the petting zoo was great with kids and the animals. He even picked up the chickens and bunnies for my daughter to pet with the brushes he brought. The tortoise was also very cool! I did not see any signs of animal abuse and he did a very good job of controlling a crowd of excited kids and animals!
All of the children had a wonderful time petting cupcake the pony and many parents were asking for business cards.
I also got a business card and love the idea of having a petting zoo at my daughter’s birthday party in November! I recommend this company to anyone looking for a fun, safe petting zoo for kids with all kinds of animals.

We contacted Reptacular Animals on short notice for a bunny petting zoo in Long Beach. Every stage of scheduling went great. After receiving quick feedback after I requested a day, we booked and awaited our event. The day of our event, we had an employee come out (I’m sorry but I don’t remember her name with all that was going around me) who was phenomenal. For a 2 year old’s birthday party, the bunny petting zoo was a show stopper… Even with a moon bounce.
The bunnies were very clean, and she brought a bushel of carrots for the kids to feed the bunnies. She had water for them as well and set up in the shade spending the very few moments the kids weren’t in there cooling the bunnies down to make sure they didn’t over heat. She looked and acted extremely professional and exceeded our expectations. My daughter spent close to the entire two hour block in the cage with the bunnies and the employee was just awesome making sure she always had a carrot and helped her find a new one when another would run away.
Overall I’d give them 6⁄5 because I couldn’t be any happier. If you ever need anyone for a small petting zoo, especially the small bunny petting zoo; these are the people to do it with!

Highly recommended!
Just had my son’s 5th birthday party, and Reptacular was spectacular! The show was educational and hands on. Engaging and entertaining, safe and professional. Hunter came out with a great display of small animals, and was very patient with eager excited children.
