Sole On the Ocean

I stay at this hotel every year while on business trips. I can say that over the last 4 years, I have not had a «bad» experience.
Room: I enjoy the way the rooms are decorated. Everything you need is available in the room already which is awesome for those that like to prepare their own food while vacationing. The bed is extremely comfortable, so be prepared to sleep in :) Every year, I want to keep my door open for fresh air and every time birds fly in so be careful! My only negative about the room– on my last visit, the shower drain was a little clogged so water started to fill the walk in shower.
Food: Room service timing is fairly typical for any hotel. I love their burger! I have also gotten their breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon) which was quite delicious. I will say, the food is overpriced, but it is a hotel in Miami/​Ft. Lauderdale so that is to be expected.
Parking: Parking is flat out ridiculous (the driveway is extremely steep and dangerous). I have noticed that valet is not as efficient as it used to be. I am not sure if it is because my visits have been «peak» season recently or what, but definitely plan to call down instead of walking down and handing them your ticket… you’ll be waiting!
Beach: The beach chairs are very nice and comfortable. There is public beach access right next to the Sole. This has never been a problem for me, but it is just something to note. Also, you cannot bring alcohol to the beach in front of the Sole. I tried and failed! (hahaha!) But their beach service (food and drinks) is fairly quick!
As I noted, I keep going back to the hotel, so that should tell you that is isn’t too shabby!

Stayed here due to a corporate booking and had some problems. Maid service & cleanliness was fine. Didn’t eat at the restaurant so I can’t review that. The petite room lived up to its name about 10×12, w/​a queen bed. If your coming in with a large suit case it will be tough to store it in this room & there is no bureau. I recommend getting a room larger than this. This was the only room with in my corporate gov contract per diem rates.
Pool is warm, clean, salt water.
Had a problem w/​front desk removing the room holding /​first night charge off of our admin’s corporate card & on to mine. Two weeks later still it was on her charge. We gave up w/​the hotel & just had to expense it off her card & split the bill up. Cost us time in manpower as well.
Additionally the hotel messed up on my return shuttle to the airport. They scheduled it for 7pm. It was needed for 7am. I had to call for an über car which showed up faster than the hotel could fix the situation & got to the airport with seriously I am not kidding 1 minute left before I missed the check in & security screen. I got on the plane — last on & they closed the door by the time I dragged my carry on to aisle 2. The Shuttle snafu damn near caused me to miss the flight & have to buy another ticket charged to corporate — explain that to my boss, yikes! Hotel did call with an apology & offered $ 20 refund on hotel bill.

Good news first. The bed and pillows were sooooooo comfy. I didn’t want to get out of bed.
Bad news, what is up with terrible guest service? I did the room service thing where you hang the breakfast order tag on your door when you go to bed. In the AM, order hasn’t arrived when I requested, so I look outside & the tag is still on the door. So I call. Instead of apologizing, guy says «I think you’re supposed to leave the menu inside the room ma’am» uh. So I read him the card instructions. He says «I’ll take care of that right away.» 20 min later, card still there. At this point I give up and hurry to get dressed so I can get coffee elsewhere. When I check out, front desk person doesn’t even ask me how everything is, so I’m leaving my response on Unilocal,from Starbucks.
Also, resort fee AND valet fee? Meh.

Staff was not accommodating. We fly in from NYC for a wedding and had requested an earlier check in, only 3 hours earlier. Bride had confirmed everything with the hotel and upon arrival we were not allowed to check in. Bride had to come down from getting her hair and make up to fix the situation. Staff told us we should have checked in the day before ! A salad and a burger from room service cost $ 50 !

As a guest at the Turnberry we went to the beach via complimentary shuttle to Sole by the Beach Hotel. The beach, chairs and umbrellas were lovely. The restaurant however was another experience. The food was very good but the staff was less than desirable in their attentiveness and timelines. I rarely write reviews and I’m not that picky of a guest but I felt compelled to let others know that you should expect a lengthy wait time and complacent staff.

This is the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is nice enough and the room was «cleanish»…if it could be called a room. The size of it is laughable. Two people have to dance around each other and there is no where to unpack. To add insult to this, there is no ice machines, places to find a drink or the small conveniences you should be able to find in a hotel. I can’t even get cold water to drink because they don’t have service available after 10… in Miami! Why I paid a resort fee is beyond me because you can’t call this a resort… it’s a stretch for me to even consider it a motel.

A friend of us told about this place and we went on Sunday for Brunch, let me tell you this is the best brunch in the area with an amazing view by the ocean, food was so good and service superb. I will highly recommend this place. This is a hidden gem in Sunny Isles. Thank you Zack for such a wonderful experience.

We stayed at the Turnberry and they offer free shuttle visits to the beach which is actually the beach here. If you have experienced the staff at the Turnberry then you will be extremely disappointed here. The staff is rude and extremely inattentive. While laying in the beach one of the managers came up behind us and told all of his staff to start picking up all of the umbrellas and taking all of the chair cushions so customers would «get it» and start leaving. It was 4pm on a Saturday. How rude! We also ordered 2 drinks that took over an hour to get. This place is a joke. We will be staying at the pool at the Turnberry for the remainder of our stay.

I booked this hotel for 4 nights of work travel. I travel to the Miami area a lot and usually stay in Sunny Isles. I decided to book here instead of my usual Marenas because of some decent reviews I read but I won’t ever be returning. I booked through
and received an email confirmation. I travel once a month, I book hotels all the time, I am no amateur, but when I arrived to check in, they could not find my reservation, they told me that
canceled it, mind you, I am Gold status through the booking site because the number of bookings I have made. They forced me to rebook directly through the hotel for the same rate but for a smaller, downgraded room. Since I really didn’t feel like dealing with looking around the area for another hotel, I just said OK and booked whatever they had.
I later called
and they told me that someone from the hotel called them and told them that I wanted to cancel. I am assuming that they overbooked on a room that they no longer had available. So they lied and pretended that I called to cancel to get out of the booking. I have NEVER had this experience in all my years of traveling.
The pros, well the only pro for me at least was the location. It is across the street from a shopping center with several restaurants, but I had a car so it wasn’t a huge deal for me to get around.
Stay somewhere else!

HORRIBLE! Stay away. I am not one to ever bash or write bad reviews but I must say I was blown away from how badly I was serviced and treated by the staff in this hotel, from the second I checked in with my mother I was scolded and told how to act by the MANAGER Chris. He even threatened me by telling my mother and I that he was staying at the hotel that night and that he didn’t want to see more then 2 people sleeping in my room a one bedroom suite. It was my 21^st birthday and I can honestly say I rather had stayed at a motel in Hialeah. Only pool service and the restaurant in the hotel are trained and educated on how to treat their customers. I’m honestly disgusted by the way I was yelled at when I was checking out because I was giving my complaints. Not only by the 3 woman at the front desk but by the MANAGER. Once again. Aren’t these people trained to give the best service possible? Not one apology was given to me. The manager began to imitate and mimic the way I was speaking. Which I found down write disrespectful, he began to call me a liar and waving his hands at me. This is a grown man I am speaking about, He was acting like a woman on her menstrual cycle maybe worse! As I was walking out he yelled «HAPPY 21^st» being sarcastic and shaving his hands I couldn’t help to laugh at this point. The valet guys even gave me a card and number to call to complain cause they said he was horrible. Maybe he was racist or better yet sexist. Not to mention the security guards that would knock on my door and enter my room to give false accusations. These staff members are SEXIST. And should would work on a FARM. I felt harassed the entire weekend.

Do yourself a favor a avoid this overpriced wanna be boutique hotel. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Rooms were not anything spectacular either. If you think you’re paying for ocean front expect to get ocean view instead. Never have I incurred so many charges that were never told to me at check in. Taxes that I swear they make up just to get more money.
Complete rip off never ever would I consider staying at this hotel again.

Do not stay here! The staff is very rude in particular the overly tattooed Jennifer. She gave me attitude when I booked online for a better rate and told me that I would then have to wait for an unknown amount of time since I didn’t book through her. All this with horrible attitude. The room was not at all the size that is seen in the pictures. There is no furniture on the balcony so that is very uncomfortable. Bed felt old! The manager Wade did nothing to make us happy after Jennifer’s rude treatment. Tine dark hallways with paper-​thin walls. We got only a side view of ocean for $ 300! Over priced tiny room, and BUNCH if hidden fees! Beware! Don’t get ripped off!

BEST HOTEL!!! Everyone at this hotel is beyond nice and always make our stay an outstanding experience! The pool and beach area are perfect for relaxing! Everything from the restaurant is superb! Over all 10 stars!!! We love visiting Sole!

Wasn’t staying as a guest but cane to see a concert Sunday night. Very laid back scene at Sole. Everyone was really nice and made getting in and out extremely easy. Only downside was they seemed a little unorganized finding will call tickets and verifying their guests. Would definitely come back for another show.

What an amazing wedding weekend we had! Sole was an amazing host to our out of town guest and their staff went above and beyond during our wedding reception. I can honestly say my wedding was so beautiful and magical thanks to the Sole team! If anyone is considering Sole as a venue for their wedding feel at ease they will make your day so special and forever memorable! And the rooms are SPECTACULAR… especially the honeymoon suite! ;)
Thank you Sole for giving us memories that will last a lifetime!

Excellent place to spend the day on the beach. Leave you car at the valet, get a chair, enjoy the beach, come to the pool for lunch and then back to the beach for a nap. The staff is very nice and polite. The food at the pool is easy yet tasty and perfect for a relaxed lunch. On sundays they have a reggae band that plays great songs and remixes live. Not too loud, it’s very enjoyable to relax. Gerard, the manager of the place is very nice and accommodating. He will make your experience a blast and you’ll want to come back! Thumbs up! Can’t wait to go back!

Pricey when it shouldn’t be. The rooms are small but nice (I have to admit). We had a balcony, but no lounge chairs. When we booked they said the breakfast was included yet we had to pay 25 $ dollars a day for a breakfast that included a muffin a coffee. I have been to many hotels and that is not have a expected. The restaurant that served that breakfast is ridiculously expensive. I would have advised everybody to just buy food at the nearby supermarket, but the room has no fridge or microwaves. The good part of our stay was the beach and the pool bar. Luis was awesome. :)
Overall you can have fun at sole, but don’t expect too much. We enjoyed our stay in Miami because we didn’t let the little details bother us. Have a great vacation.

Modern fun hotel on the beach that is family oriented. Food is amazing so are the rooms and atmosphere!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sole. We stayed on the 21^st floor. I absolutely loved spending hours just sitting out on the balcony with a book, soaking up the weather, and yes, I even kinda love the humidity just a little.
The staff is friendly and accommodating, with all of our needs being met when asked. The hotel itself is clean and nicely upkept. Uncomplicated and contemporary with regard to room interior. Small restrooms but comfortable nonetheless, odd that the shower didn’t have a «door» or entryway so that was an interesting thing.
Not only is it easy access to the beach, but just as easy to many stores, cafes, restaurants, and everything you might need for a weeklong stay (or two).
And the pool area? Very posh, and well put together, just in case you don’t feel like hitting the beach that particular day.
Overall, wonderful experience. I hope to find myself back here more sooner than later.
