El Pilón Bakery

I guess this place must be new since it is grade pending, and it was not in the Unilocal system yet.
I had passed by this place a few times, so today for lunch I decided to stop by. They have various items which I guess are prepared daily — and a plate of the day. The place is small — with a very generic feeling, with a tv playing telemundo. The place was filled up with people (all latino) — so I took that as a good sign.
Today’s plato del dia was Ajiaco accompanied with rice, maduros, rotisserie chicken, and salad — and so I ordered it. First — the ajiaco wasn’t really ajiaco — but more of a chicken soup — it was missing yuca, onions, capers (they had peas instead of capers — I wasn’t fooled!), and crème. Then came the plate — both the chicken and maduro weren’t good — they seemed like it had been sitting in oil and over cooked. I understand that this place is «fast-​food» but that doesn’t mean it has to be of low quality.
Will I go back? Hmm… I’ll possibly give thema second chance with a Mini-​Bandeja — but if they mess that up — I’m done Unilocalers!
