Good NY Pizza. Best in Sunnyside and i tried all of them.

It’s Monday at 6 p.m. You just got home from a hard day at work. What would make everything better? A slice of pizza. Not just any pizza — Uncle Jimmy’s Pizza, the best pizza in Sunnyside! But wait a minute… Uncle Jimmy’s is closed on Mondays! Why??? Uncle Jimmy, do the right thing: open up and make Monday’s worth getting through!

If anyone knows me, I’m not a crazy pizza fanatic, but if I had to choose a spot, I’m choose here. And dare I say… I actually prefer it over Ray’s.
Their pasta is pretty good too.
And it doesn’t hurt that I only need to walk 1.5 blocks to get there.

It pains me to give this place a 3 star review because my boyfriend and I LOVE their grandma pie!!!
The first few times we ordered, it was superb. Last time we ordered it, the pie had an orange hue to it… lots of oil. Which is weird, because every pie before we ordered was perfect.
On another note, sometimes they have lost our business because they simply wouldn’t answer the phone, or they showed being «closed» on Seamless, despite it being over an hour before their listed closing time.
We had some friends over and wanted to order a few grandma pies this past Sunday… it was 6:21 pm and they were closed! Mind you, it says on Unilocal they are open until 10pm. We ended up having to order from another pizzeria and it just wasn’t good. There have been several instances in which we have tried to order, they were supposed to be open — but weren’t. The pizzeria lacks consistency, unfortunately.
Additionally, the last time we ordered the grandma pie, my friend and I went to go pick it up since we wanted it extra fresh. Seamless alerted us that the order would be ready for pickup around 8:25 — 8:40 pm. I show up at 8:30 and see that the label on the pizza box read 7:57, meaning it was already sitting out for a half hour. I can appreciate prompt service, but if I wanted pizza that was bordering on the cold side, I wouldn’t bother to walk there myself. (This was the pie with the excess oil on top).
Their selection of appetizers is pretty limited as well.

i got pizza from them about a year ago and got stomach sick from it. now i see another uncle jimmy’s is opening up even closer to me – where LaBella was. i didn’t know they were doing so well. damn.

Really great freken Pizza. Thank God i found this place when i moved to Sunnyside. Cesar Salad is so good, i nearly enhaled it. It was exactly what i was craving! The buffalo chicken pizza was amazing as well. I ordered with extra blue cheese and they sent two cups! I love this place.

Because it’s so convenient, I find myself at Jimmy’s regularly. Their pizza isn’t the best but it’s cheap and good enough if you have a real bad pizza crave (which I often do). Their plain cheese slice is standard. Their margarita was only ok. I wish they put more sauce. The buffalo chicken one was not bad. They have this special garlic knot dish where it’s three garlic knots covered in Marinara sauce and cheese. I liked it at first but it got soggy really fast.
My favorite pizza has to be the broccoli chicken pizza. I like how it’s not a dry white pizza but has marinara sauce. The broccoli is crunchy and the chicken is breaded.
I always order at the store. Service is fast but there isn’t much seating so I usually take mine to-​go. They seemed short on staff though.

We tried this place today and for the price, the pizza was pretty tasty. The proportion was good and can feed about two to three people. The bread was crispy and I am not usually a crust type of person, however this crust was delicious. I recommend it for anyone who wants to get pizza in Woodside.

First time trying this place. Ordered on seamless. They were pretty fast considering i live kind of far. The pizza was thin which i like. The pepperoni was a bit salty. And i didnt like that they cut my beef patty in half. Also the blue cheese was very small for my order of buffalo wings.

Stay away. Uncle Jimmy used to be good but went downhill big time. After waiting over an hour for delivery of a $ 30 order, we received the most terrible pizza we have experienced. It was like cardboard slices it felt like. The food was cold. The chicken parm hero was terrible. Everything looked like a little inexperienced child made the food.
So couple months go by, hungry, and remember Uncle Jimmy had good wings, and we gave it another chance. Again, a $ 30 order — this place is actually overpriced for the quality of the food — we ordered cheese pie, buffalo wings, and garlic knots. the order took an hour to get here. The food was warm getting towards cold. The pizza delivery kid said that the garlic knots were in the pizza box — he flat out lied and ran away before I can check. The garlic knots were not in the box. The pizza slices were shuffled all around and some stacked on each other such that it was clear that the box fell on the floor. There was no blue cheese or any dressing to go with the wings order. It was such a complete and utter disappointment. I was so angry because I included a $ 5 tip on the online order also. NEVER AGAIN FOR UNCLE JIMMYS PIZZA. STAY AWAY.

Delivery service was quick but pizza was gross. I actually threw it away… Which is rare for me I love even ‘bad’ pizza usually. Ordered a slice of pepperoni and the stuffed pizza.

I’ve had pizza here before. Decent. But last night I went by & they told me to go buy rite aid frozen pizza. Weird.

Flakey shell with a delicious filling. The filling was flavorful and smooth and not too oily.

The food is mediocre: have had the cheese slice on numerous occasions, it’s fine. There’s not a lot of cheese on it. It’s a very thin slice of pizza.
What’s annoying is the band of teenagers who feel like they run the whole block. The employees block the parking spots in front of the business then release them for their friends, ignoring people who wait on the block to park in front of their homes.
Boring food, pompous employees. A couple nice kids in there but for the most part, too big for their britches. After I watched them pull their parking stunt, I won’t be spending money there.

uncle jimmy’s is a staple in me and my boyfriend’s relationship. it’s our go-​to pizza place — so much so that we literally order 1 – 2 times a week — and whenever either one of us eats pizza anywhere else, we always compare it to uncle jimmy’s (they usually don’t measure up… which means more uncle jimmy’s!). we eat it for any and every occasion — after a long day, to celebrate, if our friends are over — anything. my personal favorite is the sicilian — it’s so doughy with just the right amount of sauce and crisp — and their pasta is good too! i’ve had their ravioli and lasagna, both of which came with garlic knots, which were also delicious. but, we’ve come to agree that regardless of what it is, uncle jimmy’s can do no wrong.
i can’t express in words how much we love this place (i told my boyfriend to never leave sunnyside so we can always order from here). the food is amazing, the delivery guys are sweet, and jimmy is very accommodating as well. and now i’m going to celebrate the end of my exams with… uncle jimmy’s! :)

This is our go to pizza place! I love almost everything here: pepperoni, Hawaiian, and the white pizza is incredible too. Delivery is always on time and we get our pizza warm, if not piping hot! They also recently added wings to the menu, which are baked to perfection. Awesome garlic knots as well! Jimmy is very passionate about his pizza and business, and his whole staff is caring and friendly just like him. I can’t wait for the expanded pizzeria and new gelato shop this summer! What a great addition to the neighborhood :)

Small little pizza shop right off the block from Skillman Ave. The staff was very nice. The food was mediocre. I ordered the eggplant and chicken parm dishes. The sauce used on both dishes were on the sweet side. The portions were on the smaller side compared to other pizzerias.
The pizzeria is expected to relocate to Skillman Ave between 50 and 51^st streets. The staff told me that they intend to expand their menu at the new location. I am hoping for a bigger menu and the taste of the food to improve. I shall see in a couple of months.

Wanted delivery pretty late and found this was one of the few pizza places still open.
Ordered a few slices online (on
) and got an ETA that was accurate.
Pizza was delivered nice and warm.
Love the slices. Great crust that’s nice, crispy, and delicious.
Have tried their white slice, buffalo slice, grandma, and grandpa slices.
Liked all of them but probably their grandma/​grandpa slices the best.
They are nice, thick, and crunchy.
Their buffalo slice has a bit of a sweet taste to it, if you’re into that.
I personally prefer it with more of a plain hot sauce/​blue cheese flavor.
Pepperoni Pinwheel was alright, but i felt it had a little too much dough vs the amount of pepperoni filling.
All in all its a good value

We got lukewarm delivery from uncle Jimmys last night. Horrible, horrible grandpa pie. It was Literally dripping in the water from the fresh mozz that was not drained and the sauce that was clearly canned sauce mixed with water. I ordered half mushroom and they were freezing cold canned mushroom that were just scattered on top.
This was a terrible pizza for any price and at 24 dollars — unforgivable low quality.

When Uncle Jimmy’s opened up here in October/​November 2013 I was very excited to have a new pizza place that was more «traditional» New York Style Pizza. And it was great — a much needed and welcomed addition to the neighborhood. My then fiancé and I started ordering it with regularity and the pizza only got better and better, and they are FAST. The dough: delicious sauce: cheese balance is classic NY perfection and I’ll probably get some tonight because now I’ve made my mouth water.
But Uncle Jimmy brought it to the next level when we approached him the week of our wedding and asked him if he could deliver 15 pizzas to our wedding in Long Island City (an even bigger pizza dessert than Woodside/​Sunnyside). He did it enthusiastically with all the friendliness you’d expect from your local pizza guy. The pizzas were delivered in perfect condition, on time and HOT. They were DELICIOUS and a huge hit with my extended family and friends. In fact, quite a few of my guests took a slice then promptly stole whole pies because it was so good.
So thanks to Uncle Jimmy for coming to the neighborhood — my husband and I now speak about him like he’s our own Uncle Jimmy!
