Century 21 M&M and Associates

Just bought a condo unit as a rental/​investment property and dealt with Michael Lagae. He was super-​quick on keeping me updated, kept the whole experience as stress-​free as could be, and was always helpful and knowledgeable. But above all it was obvious that he was putting my interests first vs. upselling me or rushing me. Michael has a keen insight for what works for small investors like me, but he does the larger investment and primary residence transactions as well. Highly recommended if you want a zero-​cheese, no BS approach to all this.

Sunmar Corporation DBA Century 21 El Camino (and National Loan Help Center) is a horrible company. They partnered with Gaurdian Group for a «Principal Reduction» program and collected $ 1595 upfront for the task from me. I thought it was shady so before signing up got a letter stating, in writing, they’d pay me back if it didn’t work.
Of course, as soon as I turned in my app and $ the Gaurdian Group goes out of business as a SCAM and the State of AZ says they can’t do business since they have no license. I asked Century 21 El Camino ahead of time and they gauranteed their partner was good. Anyways, I wound up taking Century 21 El Camino to court to recover my fees.
They said they didn’t recieve $ from the Gaurdian Group but I had e-​mails stating that they kept part of all monies collected. I won the judgement but to date Century 21 El Camino has not paid me my money back!

Granted, I’ve only had experience with one agent at this branch – Michael Lagae. Bottom line? Great agent – helpful, Very hard working and pleasant to deal with. If you’re a first time home buyer, do yourself a favor and work with Michael – for the first time, he’s an agent on your side.
