The cashier was rude, possibly sleep deprived or drunk, i hope its the former, in either case not going there again.

Veggy place but generally good. Among the all chat houses, I liked this one more. There food seemed to be more consistency and tasty(not exactly more spices but balanced one). We are fond of hara-bhara parathas there!

This place doesn’t get enough credit. It’s actually pretty good. Their pani puri is really good, their dahi batata puri is to die for, most places in the bay don’t even serve that dish! You’re going here for good chaat and maybe some mango lassi and they do both very well. Their chai is also pretty impeccable. Definitely worth a go!

The parathas here are consistently good. Do not get them from Rajjot. Get the samosas from Rajjot instead. We placed a catering order for a birthday party for 50 people. For 300 $ odd, we got: –a tray of excellent veg biryani(everybody at the party said it was mild and delicious) –2 trays of superb already mixed bhel puri(again everyone liked it) –a tray of malai paneer(mild and awesome) –A mixed platter of plain paratha halves and rotis. –A tray of black dal. It was great food and we will definitely consider going back for the catering service.

We order stuffed paranthas for takeout from here all the time. Mostly with malai kofta, sometimes with paneer. Consistency in food is phenomenal. They taste the same as they did two years ago. Most Indian joints get off to a good start and by the end of the first year food quality has gone downhill. This place is different. Value for money. Likeable staff that tries to be helpful. I would probably not dine here, only do takeout. The place is grimy looking, cleanliness is not their thing.

This might be my favorite restaurant in California. When I moved away from Sunnyvale to Berkeley, until I finally found a decent chaat café, I would routinely make the trek all the way back to Sunnyvale for their puris and chai. It’s as good as it gets for me.

I prefer Chaas and combos from this place. Haven’t tasted snacks yet. Parathas are good.

I went to this place with a big group on a Saturday evening. We ordered a lot of food, the service was pretty fast. We liked the ragda pattis, hara bhara paratha, paneer paratha, cholle bhture and chaas. Friendly staff but they can considerably improvise on their cleanliness level.

The food is awesome here. I love the Thali and my kids eat Chole Bhature or Malai Paneer. Everything is very authentic. The staff is friendly too.

This one of many restaurants serving the south bay community, particularly it’s South Indian members. While there are better places for chaat in the area there’s none that can beat the price or sheer efficiency. This isn’t really a place for meatatarian’s as not a single meat item is served here but it’s perfect for vegetarians. House made roit’s are .50 cents each, and while they’re nothing to write home about(are roti’s ever?) the parantha’s are super awesome if not the same bargain at 2.99 and up. The chaat itself at about 5 bucks a pop, and the combo’s are both super tasty and around eight dollars for dal, kadhi or bhel poori, rice, raita, 2 roti’s papad, chaas or tea and a kheer dessert. Heck of a deal there. EDIT: My south indian partner in says that this will make no sense unless I provide a description of the food for all the non-desi’s out there. So a roti is a kind of tortilla made with wheat flour. Chaas is a diluted salted yogurt drink. Dal is curried lentils. A parantha is a super stuffed tortilla that is filled with a variety of things such as potatato, califlower, cheese, and all kinds of other items. Typically a parantha is only filled with one item at a time. A papad is a crispy lentil wafer-good for gluten free diets. Kadhi is a thick spicy chikpea flour curry gravy with vegetable fritters. Raita is is similar to tadziki-a savory yogurt with seasoning. Kheer is a sweet rice pudding, served cold. This restaurant will be very busy during both lunch and dinner all week long. There can be a small wait for tables during these times, and the parking lot can get quite busy. There’ll be parking, but you may have to navigate to the farther corner of the strip mall. I note that they do a large portion of their business as takeout. For every table occupied there will be three takeout orders. Even with all this activity, there is no real wait for the food. We fed a family of five for slightly less then 30 dollars, and enjoyed every bite.

The reason for this review is the baasi(old/stale) roti they sometimes give if you are picking up rotis. I occasionally pick up 5 – 10 chapati’s for dinner. On an earlier occasion they gave stale rotis so now everytime i pick up rotis i ask them if it is fresh. Today, despite me asking and them telling me its made just now, I come home and find stale roti’s again. I don’t think I am buying rotis from here again. There are choices all around. Overall I like their food, especially aaloo gobhi and matar paneer.

Wow. Absolutely terrible food. Opened up the samosa to see why it tasted so disgusting and it looked like plain rehydrated potatoes with a few patches of light pink stuff. Too bad, since the other Chaat House just down El Camino to the north is decent. Drive the extra mile and a half and go there instead!

Have been here number of times for lunch Food is above average like homemade. even chapatis are soft and nice. Chaat is average. . Overall I like this place to go when I am no mood to cook food but still want to eat homelike food and not the one we get at other restaurant — spicy and typical naan paneer etc..

Visited this 2 days ago for dinner. The combo thali was very good and the kachumber salad was very well prepared. I like the bhindi they prepared. I think the chaat items like bhel puri were average though. Service was good and the employees are very friendly.

My second visit here. The first one seemed promising — had a samosa chaat which tasted decent. This time I ordered Dum Aloo and it was one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had. Ever! It did not remotely taste like how it’s supposed to be. And it was so terrible I had to discard whole of it. If you visit here, try out anything other than this. It could very well be just this one dish they don’t know how to prepare. I’m willing to give it another chance as I still remember my first visit being promising. Will update the review upon that.

Consistently great food which is moderately priced. Pay at the counter for the food you want and get it delivered at your seat. The cashier is a friendly chap. Highly recommended for vegetarians. The parāthās here are at their traditional best. served with curd(yoghurt) and mango achār(spicy Indian pickle). The savory lassi(thin buttermilk with cilantro and mild spices) is a must have. Its the perfect compliment to your meal. If parāthās aren’t your thing, don’t fret, they have a good diverse menu. Their entrées are petite and flavorful. I recommend the āloo capsicum sabzi(potato and green bell pepper stir fry) and some tavā rotis. The parāthās tend to be large. One per person is recommended. Not the cleanest looking restaurant, but I trust a restaurant with a kitchen run by a lady.

This is my first visit to Santa Clara was feeling to eat chat, found this place nearby, thought to try it even though it’s less favorable reviews. Tried chola bhatura, malai kofta, sev puri, garlic parotha… Good food nothing great. Value for money.
