I treat pediatric patients, sports injuries, people with diabetic foot problems, occupational injuries, congenital and hereditary deformities such as bunions and hammer toes. My specialty in which I am Board certified is foot and ankle surgery. I treat achilles tendon ruptures, fractures (broken bones), sprained ankles, flat (pronated) feet, in-​toed gait, warts, fungal nails

In the office we have digitalized x-​rays, diagnostic ultra sound, and non-​invasive vascular testing available. Prescription Orthotics are used for many different types of problems.

History

Established in 1975.

After graduating Podiatric medical school and completing my surgical residency in San Francisco, CA, I started into private practice in Sunnyvale. A large number of my patients are referrals from other physicians in my community and from family, friends and co-​workers of my existing patient base.

Dr. Koenigsberg is an active athlete who is an avid runner and Alpine Skier. He has an interest in many sports from Racquet ball and tennis, to sailing, scuba diving and weight lifting.

He enjoys photography, and travel to domestic and international locales.

Dr K will always do his best, not sure what the negative reviews are all about. He will go to bat for you against the insurance companies, splendid fella.

We have been going to see Dr. Koenigsberg for over 30 years on and off. I took my kid with me to see him. But I have decided not to go back to him anymore. (It was my bad that I did not look for a better foot doctor. In recent years, I went to see him, i was very disappointed with the shoe inserts he made for us, and also one thing (IMHO), the office people are not very helpful. Dr. K. has a sweet personality, but not sure about his medical skills. When we complained about our foot problems, he just smiled and did not have any suggestions or treatment.

We took our three-​year-​old to Mr. Koenigsberg for treatment of two small plantar warts on our child’s foot.
Mr. Koenigsberg recommended surgical laser removal of the plantar warts. He told us given our child’s age and squirminess that he would use general anesthesia to render our child unconscious during the surgery. In view of the minor nature of the plantar warts and the risks associated with giving a young child general anesthesia, we found this to be an extremely inappropriate recommendation. We think he was not motivated by our child’s best interests but by trying to sell us an expensive treatment. In addition, Mr. Koenigsberg discussed with us using salicylic acid, but instead of recommending an over-​the-​counter purchase gave us a prescription that would have been expensive to fill.
We had been putting duct tape on the two plantar warts prior to our visit, and at the time of the visit the both plantar warts had turned blackish. Shortly after the visit, both plantar warts came off of our child’s foot. We conclude that the duct tape had killed the plantar warts, and that both were dead at the time of the visit. Mr. Koenigsberg either did not recognize this or elected not to voice that conclusion.
This experience made us question Mr. Koenigsberg’s professional judgment and capabilities. We cannot recommend Mr. Koenigsberg for podiatric treatment.

I also take my two young children to see Dr Koenighsberg. Dr Koenighsberg and his staff are friendly and accomodating. My older child has severe flat foot issue. When I asked about surgery, Dr K admitted that he is more conservative and thought that we should wait and see if my son will be ok after the orthotics. I personally like that about doctors, that they are not out for the money but the patient’s best interest.
The staff is amazing. They knew that I live far away, so they really went out of their way to help me find out a time slot that fits my schedule. They even called me when someone canceled their appointment and the staff knew that the time might work for us better.

I took my two young children to see Dr. Koenigsberg for treatment of plantars warts. He was exceptionally kind and patient with my kids. He was very gentle when it came to giving the pain shots (which clearly kids never like). I highly recommend Dr. Koenigsberg. His staff was also incredible.
