Addicted much? I have a keurig and decided to buy their bags of coffee so I can just make it at home instead of buying 2 cups of coffee every visit. Best decision I’ve ever made.

Ambrosia Coffee of God was not my cup of tea… errr…coffee :) The table at the front is made uncomfortable by how close the line wraps along it and by how loudly the staff yell out the finished orders. The quieter tables in the back are blasted with aircon and too cold for my comfort.

MINTMOJITO. Always. Creamy, Minty, AMAZING. Words can’t describe how delicious Philz Mint Mojito is. Every time I go to Philz, I’m tempted by the idea of trying a new drink, but at last, mint mojito has my heart(sorry I even thought about cheating on you). If you’ve never been to Philz before. To order, wait in the line across from the baristas, order your drink, pay at the cashier and then wait till you hear your drink/name called! Sunnyvale location is right across the Caltrain. There’s a public parking lot across from Philz. This location is pretty spacious(at least compared to the SJ location which is like a hole in the wall) and the baristas are always friendly. Also, lots of natural light which is nice for studying however it does get loud so bring headphones :)

Amazing coffee made by amazing people! Like anyone else loving Philz, the mint mojito is amazing. In terms of the vibe here, it has a bay-area hippie startup programming young parents kind of vibe going on, but not as ridiculous as the Middlefield location. More family oriented I’d say. There’s not a ton of seating but if it’s a nice day out you can sit outside.

Okay I don’t normally drink coffee, so let’s just put that disclaimer out there. So why the hell am I reviewing this Philz Coffee??? Well, it’s because I was treated here for a 1 on 1 talk about the leadership — - okay too much detail about non-related things. Philz Coffee. I hate coffee. I hate the taste of it, I think it’s nasty, hell I don’t even understand the purpose of it. Just drink water and do pushups if you’re tired. Well shoot, that sort of changed when I got a chance to try the mint mojito… what the shit? Dude that was incredibly amazing! I REALLY enjoyed it. So without me frothing at the mouth, I’ll just give you all a quick run down of this place. + very sleek, clean, modern location + very hipster-ish vibe. I feel like I’m in the city, but I’m actually in Sunnyvale where there’s parking available + the baristas are extremely knowledgable in their order selection and will give it to you straight + the drinks aren’t super expensive + the mint mojito is really good And that’s really all I’ve got. Again, not a coffee drinker, but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here to try it again.

I love me some Philz, but had never been to this location. Customer Service makes me not want to return, but the coffee was typical Philz. We went on a Sunday, and there was no one in line. Walked up, and no one acknowledged us, even though they looked up an saw us. Time passed, and it felt like being at the bar, where you’re trying to get the bartenders attention, and they keep looking past you. Finally, the guy asks if we’ve been helped, and we respond with a no. He then proceeds to explain that we were standing in the wrong spot, so it’s hard for the baristas to see us in front of them and know we have not been helped. Wait, WHAT? Where is the X on the ground that says, «stand here» then? He goes on and on about how if we stand in the wrong spot it makes their job harder. Okay dude, sorry I messed up in standing two feet in front of where you thought I should be standing, when there was zero indication that that was where I should be. So after thoroughly rebuffing my husband and I, he then asks if we’ve ever been to Philz before. I said yes, but not this location, and pretty much ready to leave, decide that he can’t spit in my coffee while I’m standing in front of him, so I might as well get it and leave. I order, and at this point I think he realizes what a jerk he’s been, because then he tries to be friendly and chatty, yet never apologizes for making us feel like we just ruined his day by standing in the wrong spot and waiting for 10 minutes to be acknowledged. We had planned to sit down and chat, and instead we booked it the hell out of there. I feel like with the increasing popularity of Philz, customer service at the newer sites has taken a turn for the worse. It feels like the baristas are elitists and think they are too good for the customer. It definitely ruined the experience. I’ll stick to the Palo Alto location where I get consistent coffee and good service.

Oh how thy love the Jacobs Wonderbar. Delicious!!! The Philz Coffee location here in Downtown, Sunnyvale is quite possibly the most enjoyable location I have been too. Very spacious, layout is roomy and the staff is great and they are quick. The only knock is the surrounding parking. Gets packed during midday but I dont mind.

Came by for coffee the other day and it was excellent as usual. The coffee shop was rather crowded upon arrival after lunch. Ordered a Mocha Tesora medium medium from the barista and paid for my drink with the cashier and even ordered a Kouign Amann! Mocha Tesora came out perfect! Slightly creamy and not too sweet! ~$ 9/person after tax for a drink and snack!

Philz has become an addiction for me! They have perfected the process for brewing pour over style coffee to a tee! My favorites are: Dark —— Jacobs Wonderbar Julie’s Ultimate Medium — — – Silken splendor It’s the best Philtered Soul Tesora The Ginger Snap Iced Coffee is awesome too! You won’t find any expresso drinks here but that’s fine with me as the coffee tastes great and has quite the kick. If you have never tried then they are certainly worth a visit, I’m here daily

Actually, my kids are fans of their teas! And, I’m a fan of their cookies! Service is first rate at this location. Alisa and Sarah are great, both as baristas and cashiers. In fact, everybody that works here is friendly and very helpful!

Been here a few times now. Great coffee! I’ve tried: –Gingersnap iced coffee: refreshing and delicious. Especially if you like sweeter drinks –iced mojito coffee: one of their classics. Really refreshing especially with all the fresh mint leaves they put in. Get a large if you want more to drink since the ice takes a lot of the cup up –tesora: my new favorite! A medium roast coffee that’s super buttery and delicious

Friendly staff. Plenty of seats. Great place to study or hang out with some friends. Located next to Rokko’s, Starbucks, Bambu, and other restaurants. There’s a small parking lot across the street but it’s tough around 11 – 12 since people come out for lunch.

My favorite coffee has to go to Philz! I can’t even stomach Starbucks anymore so if I am in the area, I need to get my Philz fix. This particular location is a well oiled machine. The workers have their system down, they usually have someone standing my the lines to help direct patrons, signs are easy to read. This really helps if you have never been to one and are not use to the ordering system. Even with this in place, I have seen new patrons with their«deer in the headlights» look walk out the door. Sad cause Philz is worth figuring out. My first time was at the Palo Alto location and I was super confused. The Sunnyvale one is definitely more user friendly. Of course my go to drink is always the Mint Mojito but the ginger snap and philtered soul are worth getting also. I love how they let you try it after and will adjust the cream and sugar to your liking. I need to try some of their other offerings but since we are creatures of habit, its hard to deviate. I have yet to try their pastries but its worth noting that they always look fresh and delectable. 5 stars

I’ve been trying to branch out from always ordering the Tesora, so decided to check out some new coffees this time around. They weren’t that busy around 9am on a Saturday, so we were able to place our order right away. We tried: –Silken Splendor(Dark Cocoa, Nuts, Butter, $ 4/Large): Pretty good, but I prefer the Tesora and Philtered Soul to this. However, this was still a solid blend, and I would order it again. –Anesthesia to the Upside(Blueberry, Stonefruit, $ 3/Small): Yum– I liked how different the tasting notes were in this coffee, and it is up there with my other favorites. I would definitely get this again. This was another successful visit to Philz, and I finally remembered not to get the coffees sweetened this time around!

Hmm. can’t quite say I’m on the Philz bandwagon. Here’s the deal. I grew up in the Bay and lived here for 18 years and never seen a Philz in my life. Even during visits from 2009 – 2015, never heard of this place. I move back this year and there’s a Philz at every corner and it’s all people can talk about. 1. WTF random and 2. This place must be pretty damn good. I come to this location across the Cal Train stop in downtown Sunnyvale and was excited to try this famous mojito iced coffee. I asked if they had a standard latte and she went on to lecture me about how latte’s are espresso not coffee based and they don’t have an espresso machine lalala. GURL don’t go all hipster on me, I know my coffee and I know that lattes are espresso based. I got the house blend and the mojito. There are about 200 types of coffee and it’s really overwhelming. I mean maybe loyals try a new blend every day. but seems weird. My mojito was amazing and the fresh mint was totes instagram-able but for $ 4 and the fact that this is the only thing you can get here other than plain coffee. and its only iced… like weird. Not worth the hype, Bye.

My number one go to — Mint Mojito Iced Coffee! MINT * SWEET * CREAMY! This location has a lot of tables and chairs, which makes for the perfect studying/work location! Parking here isn’t so much of an issue since there is a large parking lot right in front!

Iced Mint Mojito Coffee, OMG yes! Who would have thought mint infused coffee would taste so good! Philz is famous for this drink and now I know why. You definitely taste the mint in every sip, so don’t get it unless you like mint. I’ve heard good things about the coffees too, but I always get the mint mojito. Bagels here are really good too. Soft and fluffy inside. Ive come early in the morning as well as mid afternoon and there’s always a line, but it moves quick. There are also a few tables inside and right outside if you need to get some work done.

Waiting in lines is not really my thing. But for philz, yes. Amazing tasting coffee for cheaper than«chain» coffee that tastes like dirty water! My favs: mint mojito, philharmonic, & greater alarm And since I hate lines, they use OrderAhead app which I LOVEEE because I literally walk in and grab my coffee in the morning. They also have bfast burritos that are pretty decent. I’ve had the green chili and the black bean. The green chili was definitely more tasty, but I wish that they came with actual salsa, not packets of hot sauce :/

Review #20. I have a confession to make: I started this account with the goal of becoming a Unilocal elite, but having written this much, I’m realizing that I couldn’t do this if I didn’t love expressing my opinion on food or really anything so damn much. Or writing. It would not be humanly possible aka this takes more effort than I thought. But here I am because it turns out it’s not just about the badge. So Philz, the spotlight goes to you. I’m not really a coffeeholic. Starbucks only gets business from me because of their frappes(when I occasionally indulge in something really sweet). I’m usually more of a tea fan(green tea, earl grey, chai, you name it). That said, this particular coffee spot is a cool one. Very modern and hip interior. The line was super suuuper long on a Sat morning(around 10AM). That in itself says a lot. Your barista makes sure you’re content with the sugar/cream level in your drink. Customized experience fosho. Read so many good reviews about the mint mojito($ 5 L, $ 4 S), so of course it was my first drink choice. It was smooth, nuanced, minty, and refreshing. Definitely so much more than a plain ol’ coffee. Expected a lot, got a lot. Can’t say I quite agree with the Philz craze, but I think I do understand it. If I were a regular coffee drinker, this probably would be a top choice. I want to go back and try the mocha tesora and ginger snap.

I am reluctant to write this review… because I’m a wannabe Unilocal snob who puts more faith in local business than chains, and because I like the Sunnyvale Philz so much that I want it to remain a secret… shhhhh! But because I am a wannabe Unilocal snob, I feel compelled to share(and brag about finding) hidden gems. I know, my struggles are laughable. What I love most about this location is the open, modern ambiance that embodies the entrepreneurial Silicon Valley spirit – comfy, lively, mind-expanding caffeine-powered mega productivity. The high ceilings and ample lighting lend an inspirational vibe, and the design boasts an impressive variety of seating including bar stools, the obligatory hip communal table, regular individual café tables, and these interesting tables with attached seats that swivel out. The menu is the typical Philz: everything is sooooo gooooooood! I just wish they had more food options because the available baked goods are rather mundane café items(I was hoping for those super-healthy-looking oat bars from local bakeries I’ve seen at other locations). The baristas are friendly and cater to coffee princesses in letting you taste test your drink. Additionally, there is even a n00b-friendly sign explaining the rather complicated Philz ordering process.(I had to take a look at it myself because I hadn’t been to Philz in so long… but with this bright and perky Philz, it’s definitely my new go-to study café in Sunnyvale, with quite a bit of tasty lunch options nearby. Downtown Sunnyvale getting fancy.)
