Went there for the first time for dinner last night. Very few vegetarian options, but a treat for sea good lovers. I cannot help but. compare taste of the food with Chipotle. The burrito-vegetarian version was a bit smaller in size and not as tasty. But the California bowl was better than Chipotle.

Horrible experience. Use to hit this up on our way to a quakes game. Tried to go there tonight and the customer service was horrible. Rude waitress(Tati) who could care less if you eat there or not(explains the lack of customers– only 2 eating there and they did not seem happy). Love Rubios, but I’ll never come back to this location again.

You can’t go wrong with their fish tacos, especially if they’re $ 1.75(price increase) on Tuesday evenings. Great salsa. Ample seating. Tables are cleaned up rather quickly. I would come here every Tuesday for tacos.

They keep messing my orders up. Their only solution to this problem is me driving back to get my ordered the right second time. Waste of time and gas. Price is really good and food is healthy, so my review is strictly for this location not for Rubio’s.

I was a regular visitor here until they stopped putting mushrooms in grilled veggie burrito. I was a big fan of rubios. Had it been 1 year back, I could have given 5-star rating. Hope they change the recipe back to original soon. They have different types of Salsa bar, you can get as much salsa as much you want. The staff is very courteous here.

Don’t hate on me for saying this, but I think the food quality and options are better than Chipotle. Let’s salsa! — I’ve been wanting to try Rubio’s for awhile now, basically just to attack the salsa bar. Luckily, the salsa bar lived up to the hype — especially the spicy salsa. The rich, chipotle flavor and spiciness made it an A+ in my salsa book! The salsa bar has three salsa options, onions and some other fixings, hot sauce, and lemons/limes. It was not the most extensive salsa bar, and I wish they had included a pico salsa, but I really liked the one hot salsa. I ordered the balsamic and roasted veggie salad(veg, no meat) — The veggies were actually cooked quite nicely, and NOT covered in oil — a problem common for oh so many restaurants. I also ate on-location, but got it in a to-go container, which was a nice, portable container. I’m still annoyed — Okay, here’s where I’m miffed, peeved, annoyed. So you can get your salad with meat and apparently it’s the same price as just getting veggies. Well, most of these fast-food, quick and casual Mexican chains are more than happy to accommodate vegetarians with extra beans, rice, veggies, etc, to make up for not having the meat(the food group that actually comes at cost to the establishment). So, of course, I ask for extra veggies. And, she charges me for them! So I don’t get the meat and you charge me for extra veggies, even though the meat is the item in the dish with the highest cost? #sofreakinannoyed Anyway, it wasn’t the food that left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but the pricing model.

Who doesn’t love Rubio’s on a tuesday? Delicious fish tacos at a really cheap price. I love their sauce bar, which offers different level of spiciness for everyone. The line was almost out of the door when we were here at 7pm on a Tuesday for our fish taco fix. Didn’t take long to place our order. It wasn’t easy to get a seat, just because it’s a Tuesday and the place was crowded, but we managed to snag a 2-seater. Free soda refill, just like most fast food places. Help yourself to the sauces, lemon and lime slices!

One of my favorite chains for fresh food, be it their SoCal style fried fish tacos(the OG!) or their shrimp dishes(tacos, burritos, etc.). Be warned that they do tend to be a little light on the shrimp front for the dishes. But hey, for the price they charge it isn’t that far off! I know my youngest is going to be disappointed to learn they no longer serve carnitas!

Must’ve been a decade plus that I went without going to a chain and had pretty much given up all hope, but Rubio’s has restored my faith over a number of visits and a variety of their items. Let’s not get it twisted; this place is not pretending to be anything close to resembling authentic Mexican food. That’s fine by me. It’s well known that real deal Mexican food is going to be full of grease and more grease. It’s something one is supposed to embrace when stuffing themselves silly with burritos and tacos. Count me out on that! No thank you. Before coming here, be sure to join their Beach club email. I’ve gotten so many great coupons and a lot of free food just for becoming a member. Pretty cool! Onto the food, most people come here for their fish taco deals on Tuesdays. They go for $ 1.50 and the especial tacos, which have guacamole on them, go for $ 2. Fantastic deal and what we originally always came in for. Wonderful and economic option on Tuesdays when you’re in a rush or running a little light in the wallet. As for their burritos, I love them all! Between all the locations, think I’ve tried most of the combinations. You really can’t go wrong with any of the salmon or mahi mahi options. All are light and good sized, semi-healthy wraps for a mere ten bucks or whatever it is. Gun to my head, I’d probably go with the House Blackened Mahi Mahi, but like I said previously, all of the burritos are great. The California bowl, which I had at another location, was a pretty massive portion and filled with wonderfully clean and fresh ingredients. Similar to Chipotle’s bowls, but stronger. Salsa bar here is decent, but not amazing. The roasted chipotle sauce they have is really hard to digest for me and basically puke worthy, but big fan of their tomatillo green salsa. I douse it on everything. No shame. Service here is always great and love the seating inside as well, though the outside patio seating is the better option if you can handle the breeze. Process is easy here: order and go find a table and they’ll bring your food out for you. One of my favorite spots in the area for a casual bite!

Just okay. Around $ 3.50 for a single taco on a regular day. Location is good, it’s in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. Service was also fast at lunch time. I got the original fish taco and it was mostly breading and oil blanketing the thin sliver of fish. Cabbage and salsa accompanied this. It would have been so much better if the portion of fish was more generous, especially with the price. I might come back on a day with lunch specials but for almost $ 4 for a single taco it was quite depressing especially since there are so many other options out there. Bathrooms were very clean. The menu is also pretty extensive if you don’t like tacos(ie. Soup, salad, and burritos).

Very rude management and cashier’s that roll their eyes at less fortunate people that are maybe ordering their only meal of the day… I bought lunch for a homeless man here a couple weeks back and the manager came running over to kick him out as I am holding the door open for a pair of elderly ladies that the manager just stood there watching and his worker rolled her eyes at this poor man I was buying food for! Never will I spend my hard earned money here again!

Rubio’s is off the hook! lol! no lie, it’s refreshing to have something different rather than the same ol’ Chipotle and traditional taquerias. I know Rubio’s isn’t «all that» and I know it’s commercialized but I had a great time eating what I had. After the gym, I wanted to go somewhere nearby and eat something light but still pack a punch. I’m lucky to live in a city where tons of eateries are all around so I decided to eat here. It’s been a long time since I’ve came to Rubio’s(2005). I knew it was Tuesday so I had to get their fish tacos! I ordered three original tacos and signature beer-battered fish burrito all for about $ 13! The fish inside the tacos had this beautiful golden brown tempura-like shell with housemade white sauce, mild sauce, and crisp cabbage. I can’t believe I haven’t had these before?! These were the best cheap fish tacos I’ve had in many years. Sqeeze the fresh limes on them and pour a bit of salsa and BOOM! it’s magic. The burrito was great too! not overfilling but had all the components to fill your appetite and give out it’s flavors from the fresh guac and black beans. The fish inside is wild Alaska pollock which is tender white meat that is thick all around and produces a clean taste. For $ 7 this is a steal! Not to mention their salsa bar with four additional special sauces and unlimited chips! I’m definitely coming back more often and trying other stuff on the menu. I think coming here after a gym sesh is one of the most ideal times to come because your appetite builds up and you just want something light and refreshing. Great spot!

I love coming to Rubio’s on Tuesday for their $ 1.50 original fish tacos! The employees here are super friendly and cheerful. This particular location brings you food to your table. They just recently remodeled their inside with a huge long table/bar-like-seating which I’m not a huge fan of. Several weeks later, the place still has that woodsy smell from the tables. Their outdoor seating is nice and relaxing. Salsa bar is always clean and fully stocked. They now have larger to-go cups to put your salsa in; yay for not having to go back for more salsa & being more environmentally friendly!

Fish tacos are the bomb! I had tilapia grilled and is very tasty! The chipotle sauce is over the top… Also, the burrito special is super yummy with black beans, rice in it and the spicyness is just perfect… Not to hot not to mild… The guacamole super fresh! Fried beans awesome! I wish they gives bigger size sides! The prices are ok… The place it self was clean and not too crowded… You pay for the food and they will bring it to ur table… They have soda fountain at the dinning area for ur convenience and refills! I gave 4 stars because I personally think 5 stars are for restaurants over the top! Restaurants that really deserve it… Rubio’s is OK, normal, standard good food… I recommend it… The only thing is that is just not that mexican cultural wise… Is more likely mexican in an american way food… It needs a deeper mexican touch to be considered mexican restaurant!

I’m glad they have carbonated water. Their fish tacos are delicious and I went back to order seconds. The waiter are very nice and all have a smile on their faces = great hospitality. Would definitely go here again.

I went on a Tuesday, where the Fish Tacos were ½ price(after 2:30pm) — SOGOOD! The quality of the food, and the portions are right on. They now bring out the food to your table, and everyone here was super friendly. I REALLY wish they would bring Rubio’s up north, to Seattle and Portland!

This Rubios is located in a nice and relatively new plaza. It’s very open and big inside, plenty of space for groups! Love coming here for their $ 1.50 fish tacos every Tuesday after 2:30pm. I can pretty much feed my family of 3 for only $ 15! Eight tacos and a large plate of chips and voila! Everyone is happy and satisfied. What a steal. The fish tacos are pretty good. They give you a decent hunk of fish dumped in a fried batter topped with cabbage and some fish sauce. Not greasy at all which is a huge plus! Make sure you add the onions and salsa from the salsa bar to spruce up your taco and make it even more delicious.

Went with my family and an in-law and we all got shrimp/fish tacos. Really good, fresh food. I got the combo, where I ordered the fish and the shrimp tacos. It comes with a handful of tortilla chips and refried beans. It’s busy. Lots of people but we found a table with no problem. There are quite a few outdoor seats/tables as well. There’s a salsa bar and a soft drink/iced tea area for customers to help themselves to. Order and then get a number. The staff brings the food over to the table. Will definitely come again. Our daughter loved the fish tacos too, so it was a big hit all around. Large parking lot. Shares the majority of spaces with Toys R Us, Panera, Five Guys Burgers, and Pinkberry Yogurt.

Our company uses their catering service occasionally so I’m able to try out some items now and then when we do. Tried their tortilla soup and taco combination the first time. It was tasty enough but not very filling. Today I tried the citrus shrimp burrito. It is «small» as burritos go, probably less than half the size of your typical Mission burrito… which is a good thing in my book… but tasty and fresh. Plenty of well cooked shrimp, crunchy lettuce and the slightly spiced cream sauce was a nice touch. Not a bad deal for $ 7.99 considering the shrimp is sustainably harvested. Includes chips which are crunchy and not too salty… and you can pick and choose your salsa from the salsa bar as well. It’s not a destination for me, but if I ended up here i wouldn’t be mad. My only wish is that the food came out hot. Both times I’ve eaten here, my lunch has just been lukewarm, which is a total bummer. YMMV.
