SickFit Bootcamp

I have been working out with SickFit for about 9 months now and have gotten into such better shape. Jud is always super motivated that it isn’t hard to get out of bed at 5am! He has so many interesting toys and gadgets and tools, that its always interesting what he’s going to come up with. I have fallen in love with TRX! The cost is perfect and the best part is you only pay for the sessions you attend, unlike a monthly gym membership. The workouts are outside so you get to welcome the sunrise while working out. But Jud also has access to a gym on those rainy days, so it’s a best of both worlds scenario. Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about SickFit Bootcamp. I highly recommend it!

I have been really enjoying Jud’s bootcamp for almost a year now! I can’t say enough good things about it.
Jud’s classes are always designed to be intense (I would say often moreso than P90X or Insanity), but he always offers modifications and is happy to help you come up with custom modifications for what you are trying to do (e.g. lower impact vs lower intensity).
Jud is always changing it up — I never worry about being bored at his class or repeating a workout. He also has all the toys, including TRX. I really look forward to his dedicated TRX classes (every other Monday) and his strength classes (every Wednesday).
Jud himself is super upbeat and finds time to say something encouraging to everyone, despite often having classes of 20 or more folks.
I would recommend this class for everybody, from beginners to those well seasoned in bootcamp-​style classes.

I started going to this bootcamp about 9 months ago on the advice of a friend who knows I get bored with my fitness routines easily. I was recovering from a fractured foot and was nervous to jump back into things, but Jud gives really good modifications and challenges you to go further without pushing too far.
I have tried several bootcamps over the years and always get bored after about 3 months — everything is always the same. Or the bootcamp is waaaay out of my price range. Not only does Jud always give a unique, satisfyingly tough workout, but I can actually afford it.
He has varied classes covering strength and cardio and even does TRX a couple of times a month.
I haven’t lost a ton of weight (5ish pounds), but I gained strength & flexibility like I’ve never had before. I went from running my fastest mile in just over 9 minutes to running it in 8:04. I’m faster, stronger, more confident and kick ass because of this bootcamp.
Best bootcamp ever.

This is the best bootcamp I’ve ever been to. Judson keeps you motivated to do your best and at whatever level you are at. Seriously has changed my life for the better.

I have been working out with SickFit for almost 9 months now and love it! Jud puts so much time and energy into his classes to keep them interesting and challenging. His workouts are really flexible and people of any fitness level can do them, and adjust them to their own abilities. The classes also attract a great group of people which really makes the hard work fun!
If you are tired of just running around the neighborhood and need a new challenge, check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

This is an amazing boot camp. Jud is creative with his workouts and extremely motivating. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to take their fitness to the next level.

I love being outside, and even when it’s cold, this workout gets me warmed up very quickly. The exercises work out all the muscles that I don’t get to by just running alone. I feel so much fitter and stronger when I come regularly and also more motivated even if I go sporadically. When I go to the gym it’s mostly for climbing and yoga since I’ve never enjoyed weightlifting.
In this class you’re mostly using your own body weight, but with ever changing variations that it’s never boring, and because it’s so early in the morning it doesn’t interfere with any other workouts and in fact is the perfect compliment so that even if I don’t get to my other workouts during the week, at least I have this as a base, and you basically can’t get injured as long as you know your own pace and limits you can modify to suit your needs.
It’s very convenient as long as you’re organized enough to get the sleep you need. Check it out!

I started attending Jud’s bootcamp about a month ago and could not be happier with it! Jud is full of great ideas for workouts, and is constantly shifting the format and mixing up the exercises. It is clear that he is dedicated to his clients and passionate about what he does. His workouts are challenging for any level, and can be adjusted to fit anyone’s needs/​capabilities. Jud provides great energy, motivation, coaching, as well as humor and good music, which all help a lot at 5:45am :). So glad I found this bootcamp!!!

Jud’s boot camp is the BEST! My only regret is that my schedule kept me too busy with travel to attend regularly this summer. Jud is encouraging, positive, and very organized and his boot camp is designed to push you no matter your level of fitness. Every workout is different and Jud works really hard to bring in new exercises, workout formats, and equipment. I also appreciate how much effort Jud puts into creating a boot camp community — I look forward to the workout AND to seeing my fellow boot campers. As a middle school PE teacher, Jud even structures his workouts so that parents can bring their kids to work out with them. What a great experience to share with your family! Finally, the price is right — especially the discount for teachers! — the punch card is great. I love that I pay only for the sessions I’m able to make it to.

I started attending only the Saturday sessions last year. I already had a pretty good workout regimen, so I only wanted to come every now and then just to add a little variety to my workouts. After going to a few Saturday sessions, I was hooked! I am now a regular bootcamper and go as many days as I can during the week. I love the different exercises that we do and there is always something new to try. Jud is a great motivator and knows how to challenge everyone to push above and beyond their capabilities.
The classes are very well priced. What I really like is that you are issued a punch pass with the number of classes to attend. Each time you attend a class, you punch the card. Most other bootcamps require a monthly fee for a fixed number of classes. If you miss a class, you don’t get any make-​ups. The punch card allows you to attend class when you can and not lose any money that you paid.
When you join SickFit Bootcamp, you are not only going to just get more fit and healthy. You become a member of a close knit community of fellow SickFitters. SickFitters encourage and push each other. You will look forward to going to bootcamp just so you can high-​five the other SickFitters after a hard morning workout.

I’ve worked out for years, and even taught step aerobics classes myself for about 15 years. Jud is an amazing instructor. He is organized and thoughtful about each and every workout. They are well planned and executed — and there is never a dull moment! Each workout uses different equipment — bosu, dumbells, body weight, bands, jump ropes, medicine balls — the list goes on and on. He is a ton of fun, has a great sense of humor, and a passion for helping people of all ages and fitness levels feel comfortable and improve their health. The workouts are amzing, and tough! I highly recommend this bootcamp. Hope you come out and join us — you will love it!

I highly recommend this bootcamp for all fitness levels! I started going to it one year ago, and have just reached my 100^th class. I had other fitness routines, so didn’t think I would be so consistent. However, I liked the training so much, I go at least twice a week. Sometimes, I have a bike ride scheduled for the same day, but I still go to bootcamp.
What I like the most is the all over body workout. I wasn’t getting that in my other workout routines. I also like that Jud offers modifications when I need it (and being over 50, there are definitely times I need it!) I like the variation of the exercises. I never get bored. In all 100 classes I have attended, I don’t think there’s ever been a repeat class. Lastly, I appreciate Jud’s ever present positive attitude. It really does make a difference when I am trying to muster up energy at 5:45am in the middle of the Winter.

I’ve been going to this bootcamp that started in Sunnyvale summer 2012. It’s convenient for anyone who lives in Cupertino, Sunnyvale or Los Altos. I was looking for an regular exercise régime with early morning hours — so it’s perfect for busy people. I can do all I was doing before (all that morning stuff that is non-​optional!) and still make my regular 8:30am meetings at work. Judson Sickler (instructor) is really encouraging; but totally challenges us too! The sessions are always varied, each session focuses on cardio, or strength, with a bit of endurance thrown in — nothing is left out! Judson regularly brings new exercises into the mix, pushes us on the reps, and varies it up. Sometimes we use equipment: weights, jump ropes etc; but just considering the variety of exercises that we get to do with our bodies alone — it’s enlightening. It’s a blast to start 3 days of my week this way!

Jud’s boot camp is the BEST! Every workout is completely different, and works all the different muscle groups. Jud is motivating and fun and really wants us to get stronger. He puts a lot of effort into making each workout fun and challenging. I’ve been attending his boot camps since summer of 2012 and I’ve never felt so strong. It’s a great way to start the day, outside, fresh air, stars in the sky, and then watching the sun coming up, well, depending on the time of the year. Can you think of a better way to start your day?

Hard but good! If you want a whole body workout I highly recommend SickFit bootcamp. Jud puts a lot of thought into the workout so the routine varies, you never know what to expect and there is never a dull moment. The outdoor venue is a bonus. Hope to see you there!

Jud’s bootcamp is the best I’ve ever been to. Not only does he challenge his students, his excellent ability as a teacher allows him to powerfully motivate everyone to do their best. I’ll admit, at first I thought he was going to work me to death seeing that I was pretty out of shape when I started, but he gave me a good enough challenge that I kept coming back for more.
Aside from the excellent workouts that emphasize functional training, Jud has created a very special community around fitness and good health. There is a great mix of different ages and at times, we do a lot of partner activities.
Having attended the bootcamp for 3 weeks now, I’ve already learned a lot about fitness and exercise, and it’s all because Jud makes it very fun and breaks everything down to digestible chunks.

I had been looking in my area for an early morning convenient bootcamp class for a few months and found nothing that would work for me. Through word of mouth I heard about SickFit Bootcamp starting up this summer. This class has been great all summer long. No two classes are the same and it accommodates all fitness levels. It’s challenging and fun at the same time. It’s a great time of day to work out since it doesn’t conflict with anyone else’s schedule in my family. Even if you are thinking about it… give it a try!

I agree with what all of the other reviewers have said. I would add that Judson Sickler (instructor) is very organized and a very positive person that genuinely loves what he does. There are all different levels of abilities and he manages to keep everyone working to get their best workout. He varies each day with all sorts of exercises including jump rope, weights, sit-​ups, sprints, jogging, jumping jacks, high knees, lunges, planks, push ups, to name a few and ends with stretches. I highly recommend it!

I was skeptical about this boot camp — did I really need to add another workout to my already full fitness schedule? But, I had friends going and raving about it, so I figured I’d give it a try. What a refreshing change of pace from doing weights at the gym! I didn’t realize what a rut I was in on that front, until I traded up to this fun workout, where every session is packed with small durations of varying reps in a great setting (outdoors, with a view of the sun rising over the school fields). Jud is extremely organized, and keeps things moving with a mix of cardio and strength circuits — where each activity is only for 30 – 60 seconds, so you don’t even realize how many reps you are getting in until later in the day when the muscles are letting you know they got used!
Let’s face it — we work harder if someone is pushing us, right? I tried it and was hooked! :-)

Great workout. Jud is always prepared and ready to go. He makes it challenging for «real» athletes, and modifies it for the weekend warriors. Plays great music to motivate you. He does a great job of explaining each exercise. And he’s especially good at varying the workouts — everyday is different, yet he uses similar themes so you’re not totally lost.
Great job, definitely worth every penny! I highly recommend it!
