I have been going to Dr Hoglan from 2012, he is very thorough and methodical.

The first thing you notice when you walk in this store is a large array of glasses, covering nearly the entire store. Their availability of finding many nice frames within my insurance was impressive. The saleswoman was very helpful too. Within a short time my eyes were measured and I picked out my glasses. They arrived within a week and were very well made. The only drawback is that they do not provide a year’s warranty on the frames, as do other optometrists. Their policy is that as you walk out the door with your new glasses, you are responsible for whatever may come your way. If you have your eyes examined elsewhere you are responsible for taking your new glasses back to your optometrist, who examined your eyes, to check on the prescription. After doing my research, they provided better pricing than other stores, excellent service, and an excellent product, with frames in my insurance plan. This store is on the lower end. Just shows that the lower range is more accurate since last year my glasses cost 250.00 in southern California, and I was not about to pay 400.00 for a new pair of glasses. Do your research. Many online glasses websites have complaints. And by the time you return them, and expect a refund, it’s up to them if you deserve it. Not worth it to pay fed ex for that, unless you wear single vision, and use glasses USA. They have the least issues.

Dr. Hoglan and everyone working in his office are so friendly and welcoming. I’ve been coming to his office for contacts and glasses for about 2 years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Hoglan for over 4 years despite my job changing and making it less convenient. The staff, particularly David, has always been enthusiastic and welcoming.
Dr. Hoglan himself is fantastic – straightforward and practical while conducting comprehensive exams. I look forward to my future visits.

I made an appointment for 10 AM on Saturday. I was warmly greeted by the front office staff. They had all the necessary paperwork ready along with the insurance information. They guided me through the different benefits I could avail of as part of my insurance plan.
Dr. Hoglan was methodical and meticulous as always. He has a great ability to put patients at ease and I was very happy!

I have been going to Dr Hoglan for the eye exam since 2006. His exam is always very thorough and great bedside manner — very easy to discuss and address any concern with him. We moved 30 miles away few years back and tried a different eye doctor, who is nothing compared to Dr Hoglan. The exam at that place made me feel like dealing with a salesperson on eye products, and the prescription gave me headache on both glasses and contact lens. We switched back to Dr Hoglan right away even It means i need to commute to see him. But a good eye doctor is priceless.
I have ordered glasses from him twice, and both times the glasses are flawless — no scratch, no headache. (So I didn’t really run into the problem others had.)
I just had the exam last week with Dr Hoglan. Then I realize I had never left any review for his practice. But the service has been pretty consistent with him, and I will continue to come back to him for the exam.

Are you kidding me about the 5 star reviews for the jokers he has on his staff. I went in for a routine eye exam. And didnt hear back from the office about my glasses for 3 weeks. Called them and the guy on the phone says «there was a manufacturing defect and it was sent back. So, wait for a few weeks more» No «sorry for the delay», no calls to tell me about the delay etc.
3 – 4 weeks pass by and I call them back after not hearing from them. This time the girl answering the phone says «oh yeah-​they have been waiting to be picked up for a few weeks»!! WTF-​Heard of a frigging phone call or customer service!
fyi, I went to «Site for sore eyes» in Vallco for my next pair. Delivered in less than 10 hrs. And yes-​they called me to let me know it was ready to be picked up :)

Ode to the DMV — First off I love this place Great doctor with a big heart, caring staff and a no BS approach to eye care.
I went to the local DMV because my license had expired. When I stood at the counter I seemed to have failed the eye chart exam. Old age has nothing to do with this (well maybe a little),
I called Dr, Vaughns office explained my situation and asked when the next available appointment I could make would be, He asked if I could come the next day. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a courteous staff and was given a basic easy to read form to fill out. I was seen within 10 minutes of my arrival. I received a thorough exam and was told my eye site was declining with age and that to pass I would need glasses for my DMV test,
Fearing the worst I asked how quickly I could have a pair made. Dr, Vaughn directed the girls at the front to show me some plastic frames, He had quite a large selection so I tried on about 7 or 8 I thought would look good in and had the office staff help me decide, We found a really nice pair that looked perfect for my face.
The doctor cuts lenses in house and he had blanks in my prescription available. He asked if I could come back in an hour so off to the sandwich shop I trotted. Less than an hour later I had new glasses at a great price that my best friend loves. (2 huge thumbs up).
I passed my vision test with flying colors and am now a CDL carrying member of society. I am a happy camper !!!
I whole heartedly recommend them — the DMV on the other hand …

Service has declined as I learned from my last visit.

Dr. Hoglan is pretty good with his work, but getting glasses made from here could be tricky.
I got my spectacles on time, but they has a bad scratch on them. When I pointed it out, the person behind the desk (an old gentleman, who was not the doctor), told me its dust due to the lenses being cut. He took them inside, probably put some kind of polish on the frame and came back. The scratches did look a bit less scary but were still there.
I did not want to create a mess, and the frames fit me just fine so I walked off.
I’d suggest get your prescriptions from here but get your frames and lenses made at some other place you trust.

My wife and I have been using Dr. Hoglan for years. His eye exams are fine, I’d give the office a «4» for that. However, getting glasses can been challenging. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and spent a significant amount of money on them five weeks ago. 7 to 10 working days was quoted. One pair was received within that window (my spare glasses).
The other pair have not shown up. I’ve called only 3 times. Each time I receive a different answer: «Don’t know», «Lab messed up» and the latest was «don’t know». From what I know, the spare glasses were the tougher to make. Also, the last person I talked to on ¹²⁄₁₃ said she would call me «right back» with status, even repeated my phone number. She shouldn’t have promised me that if she had no intention to follow through.
I’m sorry to rate their service so low but they give me no choice.

Dr Hoglan is really professional and nice. And so is David!
I went to the store nearly 5:50 pm but Dr Hoglan and David were still so kind to provide services for me, including doing an exam as well as selecting frames. I really appreciate it!
Actually it is one of my friend refers this store to me. I will definitely refer it to my other friends.

Dr. Hoglan is excellent as a doctor when it comes to exams. However, I had the absolute worst experience ordering lenses through him. He must be using the worst lens lab in US; they’re totally incompetent.
I placed an order for my lenses to go with my own frame. They told me it was going to take 1 ½ to 2 weeks. I had another pair of glasses that were 4 years old that I could wear and I figured what the heck, I can manage for 2 weeks with that old pair. Two weeks later — no glasses. I asked Dr’s office to call the lab and they replied that their coating did not pass inspection and they will redo it. A week later, still no glasses. Dr Hoglan’s office called the lab again and they said they still were not successful at making the coating.
At that point, I told the office that I needed my old glasses back since I had to go on vacation soon. I asked that they should cancel my order and ship my glasses back overnight. It took another week until I got my old glasses back!
During this time, I was calling Dr Hoglan’s office almost every day. Each time they were telling me the glasses had been shipped; they were on their way; but yet it took another week before I actually got them back. I had asked for the phone number of the lab so I could call their customer service to find out what’s going on, but the Dr’s office would not give it to me, saying they needed somebody’s permission.
Overall, this was the WORST experience I had ever had ordering my glass. The lab that Dr Hoglan is using is totally incompetent. If you want use Dr Hoglan to get exam and prescription, that’s fine, but don’t order any lenses from him until he changes labs.

Excellent very professional doctor. Receptionist was very nice and got me in same day for an eye exam… and I came in at 3PM! The office is neat and clean and very professional. My contacts fit great and I can see clearly now! I’m going to this doctor from now on!

Dr. Hoglan was friendly and did a good job. However not impressed with the front desk operations though they were friendly. One or two girls doing everything from the reception desk. They called in to my insurance company for authorization reading aloud my birth date, ssn, and address for everyone to hear. So much for privacy. The glasses are very expensive, twice as much as my previous doctor and sadly the prescription was not correct but the front desk when I called said it would take time to get use to them. Really. I just wanted a second pair, one I have from last year my vision reading is very clear but the new set blurred. Get use to it? Yeah, right.

All our family has been going to Dr. Hoglan’s office and we have been very happy with the service received. He has extended hours and weekend hours and his staff is very helpful for any questions or any adjustment we need to do in the future.
