Scroggins Construction

Recently we worked with Scroggins Construction to complete a kitchen and den remodel. We are overjoyed with the results. Scroggins Construction was very communicative leading up to the project and also with consistent updates during the construction. They were also able to work with us on our schedule so that a portion of the work could be completed while we were away from home.
For the kitchen: Scroggins Construction was able to match our current hallway hardwood floors perfectly. The new floor looks stunning and the baseboard matches perfectly. Additionally, we updated our kitchen cabinets by installing new doors and painting the existing cabinet structure. The new white cabinets look amazing and they really make the space look larger. I also worked with Scroggins to install some specialty items including a chandelier over the kitchen sink, special knobs, a new dishwasher and new fixtures. They were very accommodating to get these items installed and they fixed the dishwasher so it is no longer hardwired.
For the Den: Scroggins Construction took down our outdated ceiling tiles installed a new ceiling, put in recess lighting, a new ceiling fan and new carpet. Again we were extremely pleased with the end result in this room. The lighting really makes the room look brighter and bigger — it was an excellent idea from Scroggins Construction to get this new lighting in place. The carpet vendor/​Scroggins Construction was great — he was able to answer all of our questions on the best type of carpet for the room considering the foot traffic.
Overall we could not be more pleased with the end result. Scroggins Construction kept everything tidy during the construction, was cost effective and produced quality results! I would highly recommend.

We had the opportunity to use Scroggins Construction Company after a tree fell onto the roof of our house. We found Scroggins C.C. to be professional in all areas: they came when they said they would, were efficient with their time, they were responsive to our needs, and left the work sight neat and clean. We appreciate their professionalism and wonderful work. We highly recommend Scroggins CC to others who are looking for a contractor.

We have just completed a bathroom remodel with Scroggins Construction and couldn’t be happier! The work was necessary due to severe water damage and to top that off — we had house guests expected for the upcoming Christmas Holiday. The timing couldn’t have been worse. From the first phone call, we were immediately called back and scheduled to have someone come look at the damage and received an estimate.
The home is old, so it was not a surprise when the initial work was started that deeper issues were revealed. The point of my writing this review, is that I was immediately contacted to be appraised of the underlying damage, and they scheduled time (after work hours), when I finally got home, to go over their concerns with us. We were very much involved with the different options to make, and never felt pressured to blindly trust just their initial recommendations. The work was beautifully completed on a Saturday, with my guests arriving 3 days later!
What made this company worth writing about, was the end result certainly, but what equally impressed us was having the fortune to work with such caring and professional crews (from their side and well as their associated subs). During the work process you could never tell anyone was there that day, until we opened the bathroom door to peak at the process! We even received a follow-​up call to make sure everything was working properly and if any concerns popped up to give them a call! That alone made us feel this company stands by their work and truly cares about their clients.

If you are assigned to this company by your agent. Do yourself a favor and request for another company. I seriously doubt they are a real company. They are extremely unresponsive, slow in getting the job done (3 months and counting), and worst of all the repairs are subpar.
They were asked to repair a corner of the ceiling, and the drywall installed is crooked. They’ve attempted 3 patches and sanded it down to offset the uneven repairs. It is still uneven, and I have accepted it as good enough. These guys fail construction 101… make a straight line.
I seriously doubt this is a real company, it’s probably a front for their side business. All the repairs were subcontracted, with no quality check.

First, let me say the good: The job was done well.
The Bad: They were recommended by our insurance provider for a patch in the ceiling after an upstairs neighbor’s toilet leaked. No one would ever answer the phone when we called. Not once. The first week we called and got a call back a couple days later. They could come out on Tuesday of next week. We call back that evening after getting the message, and leave a message that that day would work. They call back to say, «Sorry, we already booked that day» This happened 3 times, and the final time it happened, We called on Thursday and asked if they could come on Wednesday. They call ON WEDNESDAY (almost a full week later) to say no. They accidentally offered the 4^th of July, and we demanded it. At that point, they were somehow able to fit us into their schedule on the weekend before.
UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE! Never again.
