We are a paint your own pottery studio that also offers canvas painting, jewelry making classes, glass painting, mosaics and more. This is a great place to have a birthday party, corporate team building events, ladies’ as well as date nights and girl scout events.

History

Established in 2013.

I am a retired teacher that needed something fun to do. My family and I have taken our passion for painting ceramics to Surprise. We love to share our ideas and help our customers create their own masterpieces.

Hi my name is Angela and I am a retired kindergarten teacher of fifteen years. I have enjoyed the art of ceramics as a hobby for the last seven years and have been creating mosaics for nine years as well. I am happy that this family owned and operated small business can now help you and your family enjoy creating beautiful one of a kind pottery and mosaic masterpieces! This is an amazing place for kids and adults alike! Great selection and lots of choices for personalization. I have been here twice. On my first visit, I was greeted immediately and given an «intro» tour that showcased the location of all supplies and idea books. The owner is so sweet, and helped me plan out my piece on my second visit. She even went above and beyond to order a special lighting kit for one of my pieces since I picked a non-​traditional color scheme. My pieces have always been completed on time and are treated with care! This is the only pottery painting place I will go to and that says a lot since I live an hour away.

I love this place, I have been several times. On my first visit I was greeted by the owner and she walked us through the whole process and explained all the different paint and accessory options like stencils, stickers, and sponges etc… If we had any further questions she was easily available and was very helpful if we made a mistake or were struggling to figure something out. Our pieces were done when they were suppose to be and I have never gotten back a broken piece of pottery. This place provides a wonderful painting experience!

My family and I have been here on about 4 – 5 occasions. We have even had a birthday party here. Every experience has been perfect, from the door to picking up our pieces. You are able to work independently, and help yourself to whatever you need. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need them, and if you don’t, they are nearby and available. This is a very special treat that my family enjoys going to! We plan on coming back for years to come!

We have been a couple of times as drop ins and we are always greeted warmly, made to feel welcome, and given the full tour each time. They are very friendly toward the preschool set which is nice considering those the the ones most likely to break something. You can use any and all supplies and are super helpful with ideas, tips, and techniques to make your piece of art a masterpiece. The studio fee isn’t astronomical but I wish it was per party versus per person – especially when again… its you and a preschooler. But it’s fine. Pieces are fired quickly and are ready for pick up usually within a week.
Got my first coupon via email and can’t wait to use it this week!

Very good environment, you can Bring in the whole family and it’s a different pace of fun! Very helpful staff and they check up and see if you’re doing good and make sure you have everything you need, I recommend this to anyone it’s a very good fun different place to come and make memories

My mom, daughter (8yo) and myself went to the Mad Platter today for girl time. We were greeted warmly, given a tour and brief instructions and set up at a table. We were checked on periodically and the owner was easy to find if needed and super helpful and kind when we did ask. They are great about making you feel free to use any supplies you need or want. Everything was clean, well organized, and well stocked. We all had a great time and we will definitely be back again!

I’ve been to this shop twice and had a great experience both times. It’s so fun and easy. I’ve been here with my 5 year old who loved it and I’ve been here with my mom and sister. So its good for all ages.
Everytime I’ve come in the employees are super nice and helpful. They show you around, teach you how to do everything, and even help with ideas for your project. Definitely a good shop to go to if you’ve never done this before.

Was greeted by both owners upon entering. Friendly atmosphere and was given a tour of how to navigate studio. Huge selection of pottery to choose from. They offer ideas and technique to those that may be artistically challenged. Studio is kid friendly while accommodating a couples night out. Looking forward to a future event. We’ve been here twice so far. The first time we went they walked us around to make sure we knew where everything was and how to do everything and were happy to answer any questions we had. They have plenty of different types of pottery, from little things to fairly large dragons. I haven’t been to any of their events but it seems like they do quite a few fun things for kids and adults.
Don’t worry if you aren’t the most artistic, they have plenty of stuff that you can just paint, but they also have things large enough that you can draw something on and paint it.
The only issue we’ve had at all was the first time we went, about a week and a half later we still hadn’t gotten a text letting us know our stuff was ready so we called and they let us know it was ready. But, my husband was the one who filled out the card so he may have made a mistake, who knows. :)

I went back again this past weekend to paint and hang out with friends for a girlfriend’s birthday party. We had a fantastic time just like the last! They allowed us to bring in food and wine to enjoy during our little party as well.
And good news… the AC was turned up just right and it felt fantastic!
They were extremely busy during our 4 hours there, but the two owners were STILL the most helpful and patient people ever. A couple of us, including myself, needed help with some finishing touches on our items and they were way more than willing to help us out.
We were there right up until closing time and we all felt so bad that we were taking so long, but they still made us feel right at home.
Thanks again Mad Platter! I will be back very soon.

Studio was very clean and organized and very well set up, however the service was a little under par. For my first time visiting the Mad Platter, I was not greeted upon entering nor were any studio fee or procedures explained to me. Other customers came in and were helped after me, which is great for them but this completely turned me off. Not sure if I’m Coming back. Please work on customer service! :)
