We love LK&T! While it is the «local» tavern it is certainly not «bar food». The turkey chili is made daily (I think I eat it daily?) is awesome. French Dip, Nachos, Different «sliders» are some of my favorites. Shrimp & Grits is as good as anyone’s for most likely half the price. The gals behind the bar are always happy and keep the bar side of the restaurant running smoothly. If there is an event at Lambert High School, expect it to be slammed. However, most nights it is easy to walk in and sit down. Great neighborhood hangout!

My boyfriend and I went out for drinks last night and decided to try Local. We had never been before so we wanted to check it out. The hostess and server were really friendly, but the drinks were awful. I got the Jalapeño and Lime Margarita and he got the Olde Atlanta Old Fashion. The pours were way off. My margarita tasted like straight tequila and there were jalapeño seeds floating around. I cringed every time I took a sip. I only had about three sips and decided to call it quits. It was undrinkable. The old fashion didn’t even look like an old fashion. The fruit wasn’t muddled and it just looked like a pink mixed drink. I didn’t want to complain to the server because I know it wasn’t his fault, so I paid for the drinks anyway. If I ever go back, I’ll probably get a beer or something that is impossible to mess up.

Great food and prices are reasonable. Service was quick and the atmosphere is great for dinner or lunch. Nacho platter is awesome.

Best Shrimp & Grits. Fun atmosphere too. The service is good and the staff is very friendly. This is a must try.

Nice local place that’s friendly and clean. Prices are reasonable for the menu. We went during lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the servers and other customers. Lives up to the «local» name.
The fries and Philly cheese steak was tasty. They were a little heavy handed with the salt for both but otherwise it was great. Portions were big too.
Passed by this place often and glad I had a chance to go in.

Went early on a Thursday night with my mom and 2 year old after passing the place a number of times on my way home. Great service, the waitress was wonderful to my little guy, and decent food. We ordered the pretzels with cheese sauce as an appetizer and they were just average — nothing special. The mushroom swiss burger was great — nice char, great meat and good fries. My sons chicken tenders were good, better than the frozen tenders you find at some places. My mom had the shrimp and grits and she was pleased with the dish.
If you live in the area you should def give this place a shot.

Unreal. Showed up with my family of 5 to meet our friends family of 4. Two are in middle school the rest in grades ⁴⁄₅. We requested that the adults sit at one table and kids sit at table right next to us 2 feet away. We were told no. We have done this numerous times before with families. We left. I’m assuming they wanted business on Monday night. Guess not.

Easy and close. Good food, especially the smoked pork. Nice selection of beers on tap.

We have passed this place a number of times and finally decided to give it a try. It was better than expected. I had the Southern Chopped salad. It was a huge portion. I got the dressing on the side. I loved everything in it, but the dressing was a little too sweet, but I would get it again. My husband got the fish and chips. He said it was pretty good.
My kids were happy with what they got and the service was good. It was a solid three star place. We will be back. I liked the atmosphere and the food was good.

Best burger in town!!! I got the Montana burger and I could’ve eaten another one. I’m not kidding. The service was OK. But I gave it five stars because I’m in burger heaven.

This was the second time my family and I have eaten here. Great little restaurant to have a tasty burger and beer. The kids also enjoyed the pizza and chicken fingers.

Good local bar and decent food. Ordered half order of nachos with chili, 10 wings split with siracha and peach/​bourbon and the Montana burger. I give the burger 4 stars, delicious char on it and flavor. The nachos were good as well. The wings were okay, didn’t care for the siracha – too much mayo based, kind of weird for my taste. Overall great place to grab a quick bite and beer

Great family environment. Service was great and food was even better! Quesadillas are outstanding. The wings are also great and the fish and chips. They have such a great variety for a low price. Recommend this place to everyone!

Really wanted to like this place. It’s just around the corner from where we live, so decided to check it out. Walked in and were greeted right away. The place is decently sized with dark lighting and lots of big flat screens up. We were sat at a big booth. They had crayons for my daughter, so that’s a plus. Service was very good. Waitress was attentive but not overbearing. I ordered the Mac and cheese for my daughter. Hers arrived first, so I had to try it. It had a funky taste to it. Can’t place my finger on what to call it, but I disliked it. We ordered drinks. I had a cranberry pineapple martini, and it was terrible. It tasted so watered down! How can a drink with two juices taste like water? I didn’t even finish it. My entrée was a smoked chicken burger with grilled veggies. The burger bun was stale, so I didn’t eat it. Chicken was dry. It was served with creamy sriarcha, which saved the meal frankly. I was able to get the chicken down. The vegetables were very hard, and drowning in butter. No thanks. Despite good service, I won’t be back.

Came here last night with my honey and her daughter. Wanted to try something local and close to the house. Walked in and ambiance wasn’t exactly what I was expecting for a kitchen & tap restaurant. Felt more bar like with the seating. The draft selection wasn’t extensive like I expected either but they at least had a few decent options. Ordered the fu man brew and enjoyed it. My honey ordered a Cosmo and it was very watered down, and hardly any vodka. They also served it in a scotch glass, which was odd, and it had ice?!? We ordered the Mac and cheese for her daughter. It looked good when it came, but taste was bland. My dinner, the peach bourbon grilled chicken breast, was fairly decent. The chicken and peach bourbon glaze had a good taste but what really saved it was the mashed potatoes. They were certainly homemade and tasted just like my moms. Actually wish I had just ordered that. My honey had a chicken sandwich and it was dry and bun was soggy. Her vegetables were also hard. I really wanted to like this place bc it was so close and we wanted a new favorite place but just didn’t hit expectations. The service was good though. I was close to one star but the mashed potatoes were that good. Wish everything else would have made the cut. Not a place I recommend.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff! You really feel at home at the Local Kitchen.
I love this place. The 12-​hr BBQ is out of this world! They make great drinks too.
Even better than the food, the conversations with the staff and owners makes for an insightful and pleasurable dining experience.
A dinner with a friend, including one appetizer, two entrees, two beers, a root beer float and a glass of Scotch cost me less than $ 55… can’t beat that!

Many great options for everyone on this menu! Service is always great. Love having this local gem just a mile up the street. My particular favorites: peach bourbon wings, buffalo shrimp flatbread, burgers, loaded buffalo chips.
They recently added breakfast service on weekends. In addition to the typical breakfast staples (all well executed) they offer some unique options. French toast with a buttery bourbon sauce that is ridiculously good. They’ve also added smokehouse selections that look delicious. They have a decent selection of local and other craft beers and full bar. On the weekends they have live music.

Have driven by there everyday and high hopes. Food was OK but I wanted more variety– menu mainly comprised of typical burgers sandwiches fried foods, a couple of specials. Ordered the Mojito and got this blue concoction… it was awful and didn’t resemble anything like Mojito. DH’s wine was not very good either.
Had live Music Band and it was sort of ok too. Had a few TVs blaring some game. Cross between sports bar & casual family dinner place I guess. Was dark in there. Everything was just OK nothing that popped or where we could say WOW that was good. Service was good prompt but not always attentive. Whole experience was meh… OK.
If pressed for time I would probably come again to have dinner with the kids. Really wanted to like it. Disappointed.
WOULD MILDLY RECOMMEND for casual family dinner.

We had read the Unilocal reviews and had intended to try this place for a while. We opted for a Friday evening meal. We arrived around 6 p.m. and it was not overly crowded, though it steadily filled up while we dined. It seemed to be largely families, with a fair percentage of guys having a beer watching the game and also some ‘girls night out’ tables.
My wife and daughter both got the glazed salmon. My wife liked it but my daughter was not thrilled with the glaze. They both liked the side dishes, though I don’t recall what they were.
I got one of the burgers. It was about half the size and half the price of some other places that offer huge burgers (and where I usually end up taking half of it home). This one was sized well and I finished it. It was tasty — I think it may have been the bleu cheese burger.
They had a decent wine list at decent prices as well.
Overall we had no major complaints. We weren’t blown away by the food, but will likely be going back. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would.

Stopped by our vet clinic and forgot that they were closed for lunch until 1:30. With nothing else in the area on our to-​do list my daughter and I decided to have lunch here. We’d done the same before with one of the previous incarnations of a restaurant in this same corner space and never went back because it was so horrible. I’m glad we gave Local Kitchen & Tap a chance.
We were greeted promptly at the door and seated. The restaurant wasn’t very busy for 1:00 which surprised me, but again this restaurant isn’t located in a thriving mecca. The thing that impressed me the most is that the entire time we were there, everyone was working and cleaning. None of the service staff were standing around and chatting.
My daughter ordered the three cheese grilled cheese and declared it one of the best she’s ever had. The bread was nicely grilled and the addition of Swiss and Provalone to a grilled cheese made her very happy. I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about her french fries. Although I’m sure they were just a high quality thaw and cook (they certainly weren’t hand cut) the flavor was fantastic and they were cooked perfectly.
I ate the Cobb salad and was equally impressed. The greens were fresh, as was the avocado and tomatoes. At first the dish appeared to be a lot of fluffy lettuce with not much else, but at the last bite, I was still scooping up egg, bacon and avocado so the proportion was just right.
LK&T isn’t someplace I’ll drive 20 minutes out of my way to get to, but if I find myself in the area I’d certainly consider having lunch there again.
