This review is for my wife. She went in for a hair coloring and they brushed her scalp, causing it to become very irritated and her skin to break out. They did not give her a price in advance and charged her $ 220 for color and highlights without a hair cut.

Worst hair cut I’ve ever gotten! My hair is really messed up. I specifically told the guy what I wanted but he decided to cut it his own way. By the end of the hair cut I had 3 cuts on my ears! Never coming back! I’m so disappointed. I wasted so much money

You have to bring a photo. I use Tommy, sometimes he great and then not so great, but the photo helps a lot. There is a Korean woman in there beware she BUTCHERED My hair in his absence.

I cut my hair here three times. The guy twice and the lady once. They both suck. On the long run my hair looks horrible. I think this is the only hair salon I had bad experience with in my whole entire life. The guy also sold me hair manicure(took a while to do) there was no difference whatsoever. He even told me he was going to show me the difference and never did. Probably because he didn’t see a difference either. Definitely not going here again.

I was there sat and got hair stylist Tommy. I asked for hair color and ofcourse he sells me wax manicure saying my hair needs it. I asked for his quote before i sit down on his chair and quoted me $ 175 for alll. Then when he started with my hair he said the touch up is alittle bit more than what he quoted me. So i was about to stand up and say im not interested but he said its only for $ 5 more bec i will give u discount. So i agreed just to get this over with. So after more than an hour my hair is totally different fr my eyebrows and he aaid its fine give a day to 3 days whc i did and i callled him today, after 3 days and said its too orange looking n im not happy about it. He told me to come to his shop and he will fix it and make it right. And will not charge me. When i get there he started explaining to me that he did not do anything wrong and he said he wont fix my hair without costing me. When i asked how much he quoted me as if im going to have to pay for a new hair color which is $ 75. First of all, u should not say u will fix it and made me drive all the way to his place only to charge me full price. All he said was an apology whc wont help me bec my hair is messed up and wont even work half the cost on what i already paid. Pls beware when u go to this place. I say never again to come to this pricey place based upon my experience or find another person to do ur hair if want to use this salon. Very poor customer satisfaction.

Tommy is one of the best hairdresser in Atlanta. As long as you describe the style that you want right or show him the picture of the style, he will make it happen.

Pika Pika gets 5 stars for me only because of Christine. She has been my hairstylist since 2006. She used to be at ScissorHands but is now at Pika Pika. She is amazing! So much so that even though I’ve moved to NYC, when I’m in Atlanta for work, I try to get an appointment with her. In fact, I was able to see her this weekend and she dyed my hair the perfect shade of light brown. She listens to what you want and is never pushy. But most importantly, she is a perfectionist and takes pride in her work. I love that about her! Whether it’s a dye job, a cut, or straightening, she always makes my hair always look perfect. Also, for those of you that don’t speak Korean fluently, no worries because Christine speaks English fluently!

Its simple: Bring a picture, point to it, let them do their magic. I realize that there is a language barrier with few of the stylists: but if you can find a picture that shows exactly what you want, they will come through for you! I am not Asian, but I just kept seeing many Korean girls with really pretty hairstyles, so I decided to go to the source! *I have been getting my hair cut here for the past 2 years. **I will say this: my latest haircut came out a bit shorter than I wanted, but I take the blame there. I didn’t just show her the picture and let her cut. I opened my big mouth and in between talking incessantly about my bangs and the parts of the picture I liked, I think she misunderstood what I wanted. MYBAD. Needless to say; the haircut is actually REALLY cute, and basically just a shorter version of the picture I showed her.

Ok, here’s the positive experience. Perhaps you’ll have one too, if you go directly to the owner(woman, don’t know her name… wifey talks it up with her). I’ve been here six times so far, and every time I walked away very happy. She is thorough, listens to… my wife… as to how my hair ought to be cut. I give her a 25% tip for her good work. Proof is in the pudding!

My boyfriend was getting a haircut and when he was finished, Tommy convinced me that I needed a quick trim. I agreed with him because I was long overdue for one and went ahead with it since there wasn’t any wait. The«trim» turned out to be a 4 inch cut, goodbye to my long hair. As Tommy was cutting my hair, I told him… it looks short and he responds«its not short». WTH? Isn’t it your job to listen to what the customer wants, and not what you think the customer needs? No only that, he used the«thinning hair scissors» on me the entire time, pulling my hair as he was cutting it with those useless scissors. So in the end I got 4 inches butchered off and my hair is extremely dry, thin, and brittle at the ends, from the result of using those scissors.

So we all know it’s tough finding a new hair stylist — for females, this is an obvious statement, for males, if you have metrosexual hair(or used to, in my case) you know how important this is as well. It’s a scary thought, leaving somebody that you’ve trusted with a very important aspect of your physical appearance: your hair. Hair can make or break the way you look. In my case you can either look like a normal guy, or a Chinese-food delivery boy /Baby Buddha. In any case, I’ve introduced the importance of hair quite enough. To make a long story short, I just moved to the area for school, and went to pika pika hair at the recommendation of one of the locals. Upon entering the salon I got hooked up with one of the stylists, Tommy something, the store manager, and he talked me up, gave me a pretty pitch as to why I should trust him with my hair(essentially, he seemed to know what I was going for, and how my hair needed to be cut in order to get me there). After the haircut was over and done with, I looked at myself and thought, hey, not bad! Note: he didn’t know I was korean and I caught him telling his coworker to lie and respond to all clients when they ask how long they’ve been working with«for 10 years», I should’ve seen then, that this guy was worthless scum. But apparently he got lucky with his scissors that day so I didn’t pay too much attention to that sneaky little comment. So fast forward 3 months. It’s a saturday morning and I’m liking my hair length but not the messiness of it. I have a pretty important function to attend on this particular day and I need to look appropriate. I call up Tommy and set up an appt. I get there, sit down(confident at this point because he did a pretty good job the time before), and I tell him exactly what I want: «I like the length, just need it cleaned up a bit and thinned out in back». For the next 30 minutes I text my girlfriend who is texting me(a mistake because I should’ve been watching this horrible hairstylist like a hawk — I would come to this realization after the fact). In my urgerncy, I get up, confident that he’s done similar work as last time, pay for the haircut and leave. As I’m driving back, I look into the mirror, and don’t even recognize who I see. I’m looking at a guy that should be delivering Chinese food to the citizens of Lawrenceville, not a medical student who’s about to receive his white coat. The hair length is completely different(extremely short), it’s uneven, and I look I have hair that is completely thinning(as in, an old man losing hair). Are you joking me? 25 $ for a haircut and you can’t even perform something as simple as cleaning up hair that is already at it’s desired length? This reject obviously got lucky the 1st time. I could’ve done a better job in 5 minutes with a pair of clippers than he did in 30 with all his bogus scissoring techniques etc. What’s worse is this guy thinks he’s some kind of super-pro — he is very theatrical when he cuts, i.e. very exaggerated motions, flailing arms, grim faced… In all honesty, if I didnt have my ceremony in 30 minutes I would’ve turned around, and things would’ve gone done a bit differently, as angry as I was at this point. But as a dude who shouldn’t really care too much about hair(even though I obviously do), and a semi-religious individual and future practitioner of hleath, I didn’t think it would be right. The best thing I could think of to do, was to spread the word. Don’t go to this place unless you want a garbage-like haircut from hairstylists that should be paying US to practice styling hair. Invest that 25 $ for a men’s haircut for a good pair of scissors and I assure you, you will do a better job cutting hair than this clown who’s apparently been cutting hair for 10 – 15 years. What a joke!
