History

Established in 2003.

Suwanee Academy of the Arts is committed to inspiring excellence in young people through the exploration of the arts. Taking a multi-​disciplinary classical approach to arts education, students at the Academy are encouraged to become versatile performers who can draw upon a rich pallet of skills, techniques and forms in their artistic expression. We provide a nurturing laboratory for important personal development that will bring out the best in every child.

Patty and Bernie X.

Business Owner

PE: A graduate of Milliken University, Patty brings her enthusiasm for musical theater performance to the Academy and is passionate about inspiring young singers/​actors to fulfill their artistic potential. Many of her classmates went on to careers on stage or film, but Patty’s heart was in education. It is common knowledge that everything you need to know about life you learn in Miss Patty’s drama class. BBD: A child prodigy at the age of four, Berneta was sent to study under the direction of Tensia Fonseca with the Maryland Youth Ballet. She performed with the Atlanta and Bristol Ballets throughout her youth and graduated with a double major in Performance and Education of Ballet from Virginia Intermont College. Known simply as «Miss Bernie» during her more than 20 years of excellence in teaching, Berneta is committed to sharing the art of dance and proudly brings the Cecchetti Method of Ballet instruction to Suwanee. SAA is the first Cecchetti school certified in GA.
