Champlain Farms

Probably my favorite «truck stop» in the area so far!
First, let me clarify two things:
1– On the road I do like stopping at truck stops. They generally have more services than regular gaz station.
2– The northeast US doesn’t really compare to the rest of the country in terms of truck stops. There are fewer and they are smaller and generally not as nice.
That said, I have been traveling a lot along I-​89 lately and trying the few truck stops in the area. Of those, I prefer this one.
It is small but they have a good choice of products, restrooms (which I found to be cleans contrary to a previous review… I even wonder if the other review was for the same place!), showers for travelers (mainly truckers) and a cooking to order counter. There you can order food to go or to eat in at the few tables available. Service is friendly and the quality is fine. Don’t raise your expectations too high, it is a truck stop, but comparing it to other ones in the are it gets a good grade from me!

Well… this is a classic truck stop in the middle of nowhere. I don’t know that my expectations were super high… but yeah, no…
It is like a convenience store, gas station, diner, and REALLY gross bathroom all rolled into one. The girl at the counter was really nice and made conversation — I hope she doesn’t have to clean those dirty urinals… but it doesn’t seem like anyone does!
