Specialties

Conference and retreat center, chapel, and beautiful grounds to walk. Friars (priests) available to preach, give retreats /​missions, spiritual guidance, teach about the Bible and other Christian themes. Overnight capacity: 16 beds.

Religious services: worship /​liturgy following the Byzantine Catholic tradition (an Eastern Christian tradition); Roman Catholic services available on request. Confessions heard Thursday & Friday 3 – 4:30pm and 7 – 7:30pm or by appointment. Divine Liturgy (Eucharist) at 8am daily and Saturday evening at 5pm (Sunday vigil).

History

Established in 1945.

Serving Conyngham valley, Hazleton, and northeast Pennsylvania, the Byzantine Franciscan Friars have provided spiritual guidance and a place for people to worship since our arrival. Friars have also served in parishes and given parish missions /​retreats. In the 1990’s, we were integrated with Assumption BVM province of the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans, OFM), which has enabled us to continue and build up our ministry. We are happy to serve anyone who comes to our door, to the extent we are able. May God grant you peace!
