History
Established in 1993.
The original Spex Express opened in August of 1993. At that time, it was staffed by a revolving door of optometrists and opticians. Because of this, the customer’s needs were not being met. Dr. Steve Gustafson and optician Chris Brundies believed that an jointly-owned, non-chain eyecare practice could be established that would put the needs of the patient first.
They bought Spex Express in November of 1995 and Dr. Frank joined the team in almost ten years later upon purchasing Dr. Gustafson’s share of the practice.
In 2010, Spex Express was reborn and rebranded as Spex Expressions, DeKalb County’s première eyecare practice, that excels in providing the best eyecare service and availability of technical expertise. What remains, however, is the same basic concept: An eyecare physician that knows your medical history and needs, paired with unparalleled customer service and the availability of high-fashion eyeglass frames and the best lens technology currently available.
