Tetris Movers

This company has yet to arrive as promised!!! I’m waiting here for an hour past the time they should have arrived!

I found out about Tetris on Living Social and made a purchase. I called this company 12 times, panicking as my move date approached. I NEVER received a call back.

The only reason I am even spending a second of my energy and time to write a review on this business is because I have NEVER received such appalling customer service in my life!!! I’ve been working with clients and customer’s on a day to day basis for years. Moving itself is stressful enough but the service Tetris Movers provided to top it off was ultimately depleting. After just now reading other reviews that sound very similar to my own experience I’m surprised this company is still up and running.
I initially found this moving company off of Living Social’s website a few months ago. I purchased the deal and scheduled my appointment. When I spoke with their customer service representative he seemed very polite and went over with me what to expect the day of my move and read me his paragraph of any charges that could incur if I was to go over the allotted mileage of 50 miles. But, also during this process he looked up my address and confirmed that access mileage wouldn’t apply to me since my move to location address was only 8 miles away from my initial pick up location therefore the entire move fell within their service parameter. Feeling confident with the company we then discussed what time slot I would prefer. I HAD to be out of my apartment by Sunday August 30^th so I chose for my moving day to be Saturday the 29^th from12−6pm, which to me, meant I should expect to see them sometime around noon and then I would be able to utilize their services until 6pm.
The day of my move I showed up to the apartment around 11:30 and waited. When 12:45pm rolled around and I had yet to hear from them I called their customer service dept. and they said that the movers were currently in Sherman Oaks (which is 2.5hrs from my hse) and that they had until 6:00pm to arrive at my location. I was a bit surprised as I didn’t think that anyone would «start» a move at 6pm but I understood that this was obviously a miscommunication between us. Knowing I didn’t really have a choice as to when they showed up and that I really needed their help in order to be out of my hse the next day, I knew it was out of my hands and I was actually totally cool with it! The customer service rep. said he would have the movers give us call with an eta so we could plan out the rest of our day and then just come back when they were ready. Not until 5hrs later did I here back from anyone. It was until around 5:45pm that I finally received a phone call, not from the actual movers themselves but from a different customer service representative letting us know that the movers would be running about 45 minutes late and we should expect to see them 6:45pm. He also mentioned that (btw,)… my house was located 12 miles out of their service area so that I would be charged an additional $ 170.00 on top of my final moving cost.
At this point I tried to communicate with their customer service rep. that their seemed to be a HUGE lack of communication within their team and I asked him if he happened to be the manager or if I could speak with someone in management. I wanted to talk to someone that could understand my frustration. I felt like for them to call me and tell me they were running 45 minutes late and on top of that, that I will be getting billed for excess mileage, when the house I was moving into was so close by I just thought, at what point do I get to start charging them for blowing me off all day in addition to running 45min late?
The account representative then proceeded to get extremely offended that I questioned his role within the company and said, «I am a booking agent, I do not like where this conversation is going and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. You will receive a refund within 24hrs» …and then just hung up on me. I was blown away!!! I tried calling and texting him back several times to tell him I would pay the added fee’s” but that more importantly I still needed their help! This day had been planned for months and I kid you not, it felt as though they were smiling when they hung up on me. I’m a non-​confrontational person and for them to just so easily shut me down like that and not have the capability of listening or communicating with me was sooo offensive!
I eventually just ended up having to google «same day movers» and luckily found a totally AWESOME group of two guys that met me at my apartment the next day at 10am and actually ended up being cheaper. The following Thursday I had yet to receive my refund from Tetris Movers so I tried calling/​texting the company several times and their mail box was full nor would anyone respond to my texts. THANK GOD I purchased the service through Living Social and they ended up giving me the refund. I can 1000% guarantee that I would have never received it otherwise. In the end it wasn’t the $ I ultimately cared about it was the principle of how everything was handled. This company is a complete scam. ~ Thanks for showing up!

I called multiple times on moving day and they never showed up. I kept getting reassured that they’d be there, but nobody ever came. I have to delay my move an extra day because of them. They told me that they’d be here between 8 AM and noon on Sunday. I’m writing this at 11:53 AM on the day. I’m not confident that they’ll be here within the next 7 minutes. Now, not only do I have to deal with the hassle moving, I now also have to call my credit card issuer and ask for a chargeback. Such a hassle!
Update 1: they called me shortly after my initial review and told me that there was a error in their scheduling system and that they had me down from noon to 6 PM. It is currently 5:22 PM and no one is here to move my stuff. I’ve mostly given up hope. I’ve spent a whole equivalent of a working day waiting for them to show up. This delay has really made my moving experience quite a hassle for me. I’ll be calling my credit card company if they don’t show up at 6, to have the charges refunded. I wouldn’t recommend this company, even if they do manage to show up.
Update 2: It’s now 6 PM and they never showed. I’ve contacted my credit card processor and my processor will refund the money for me. This company has completely wasted a moving day for me.

No show! Seems to be a pattern. Got a confirmation phone call the night before. Where are they??? When you call them, it goes straight to a full voice mail box. In addition, purchased through Living Social– Tetris marked my voucher as used before they ever even came.
Someone needs to close this business down.

The worst moving company. Scheduled moving on ⁸⁄₀₈ at 8 am for 3 hours. Never came. I called them and rep stated that the window was from 8am to 12pm, so I waited and they never came. I called every hour no response after 5pm I gave up. I called a different moving company. Around 7:30 received a call and a text stating movers were calling me all day. That was a lie! I didn’t receive any calls or voicemails. Do not use them at all.

I would NOT book with Tetris. You will be very very sorry. They extorted money, lied and bullied me into paying with threats. I should have known when I had to call like 5 times to confirm the moving date.
I booked 7 hours and they showed up at 6:30pm! When I asked if they were really going to do the full 7 hours, they promised that they would. After one load they refused to work anymore and wouldn’t unload my stuff until I paid. Then they added a bunch of BS charges to the bill. The total came to over $ 600 for 4 hours! They still charged me for the 7 hours even though they worked 4! They didn’t bring any supplies, as promised. They didn’t wrap anything. They said they would be back the next morning to finish and, of course, they never came. After multiple calls, they finally answered and basically try to extort more money. I had to go try to find more movers super last-​minute, which cost me another $ 200. I should have called the police on these cheaters.

Be careful of these guys… worst moving experience ever.
I bought a deal through Living Social, thinking that I got a good deal… I was completely fooled. You have to schedule a date/​time with these guys, but if you call them, you’ll get through ¹⁄₉ times. The other 8 times, it goes directly to voicemail and their voicemail is full.
After trying 10 – 15 times, I finally go through. I was directed to a website to submit a request for quote (the website looks like a 10 year old made it). I submitted my request, but did not receive a response for several days. I followed up with a couple emails and finally got a response that they will get back to me… no one got back to me. I tried calling them again and finally got through after 10 – 15 times. They asked me to submit a deposit through Paypal to confirm the date/​time.
I paid the deposit and was told that I was confirmed. They said they will call me 1 day in advance to confirm again. I did not receive a call 1 day before the move. I called first thing in the morning of the move and no surprise, it went to voicemail. I emailed, called and texted and did not get a response until 10AM (My move was scheduled from 8−12Noon). By 10AM, I had already arranged for another mover, since I could not count on these guys.
I don’t normally write reviews, but these guys are so bad that I want to make sure no one goes through the same trouble /​hassle.

I am very happy with Tetris movers. The cost was very affordable and Mike and Kevin did a great job. Service was fast and seamless! I highly recommend them!

Very happy with Tetris movers. They were on time and helped with everything I needed him to help with. They got the job done faster than I thought, and everything arrived in perfect condition. Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.
I called lots of different moving companies, and the quotes were really high, Tetris had the right price with the right service.
Hopefully I’ll never have to move again but if I do I’ll call Tetris

Do NOT hire!!! I give them one star, because that’s the minimum. Scheduled at 8am. They confirmed. I call one day before to confirm and the guy (Gary I believe) said «I said it verbally, but I never wrote you down… Let’s do 1 now.» It’s 2 pm and they’re still «unloading» the previous movers. 3pm no reply. 4 pm no reply. 6 pm finally a response «we’re still unloading.» Moving is something you plan ahead, and you shouldn’t wait this long. I repeat DO NOT HIRE! …Oh and did I mention I got charged as well… That’s what you get for chosing a cheap option!
