History
Established in 2011.
This 1930’s barn /garage was completely renovated as my art studio when we moved here in 2010. We completely gutted the loft and added a bathroom with shower. As every art studio needs a day bed, it quickly became a favorite guest house for friends. On a whim, we put in a queen size bed and advertised the loft to the public. It stays busy with happy guests and I have not painted much in there since. ;) I still paint (acrylics) when I get a chance, but am happily involved with homesteading arts on the farm: tending the garden and chickens who live on the backside of our farm house, which is adjacent to the loft.
Meet the Business Owner
Carol P.
Business Owner
One half of a semi-retired couple, this former teacher and non-profit administrator is the owner /manager of Windcrest Loft, a small bed and breakfast (minus the breakfast). We do offer a nice DIY coffee /tea service, but respect your privacy and time. I enjoy meeting new people, but am happy to stay in the background while guests enjoy their peaceful getaway. I’m usually around the house or garden we love. It’s been fun learning how to raise chickens, grow vegetables and use a pressure canner. I even shelled our own black walnuts last year. I am involved in the community of Dillsboro and Sylva and absolutely love the people and lifestyle here. Everyone says how lucky we are to have to have found such a beautiful piece of property. We are happy to share that luck.
