Wil saved this sale! The first salesperson that started to help us seem to be bothered. When another customer came in rather than finishing with us he passed us over to Wil. Well thank goodness in the end for the store, because we were going to walk out after how rudely we were treated. Wil was patient, extremely helpful, and ended up with our $ 1300 sale. Wil is an asset to the company and the perfect example of exceptional customer service. He deserves a raise! Ask for him when shopping here!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they really care about getting you the right bike for your needs. With a wide array of bicycles, they are suited for every type of cycler and are determined to ensure that you have the best possible experience in the store and on your bike. Jimmy was especially helpful and I would highly recommend anyone interested in purchasing a new bike to go through them.

Worst customer service ever. Condescending sales attitude… I’ve been purchasing bicycles all over New York for 30+ years and this is by far the worst. They should have stayed at the original store on Hempstead Turnpike when they actually cared about their customers.

Just went in today with wallet open and ready to buy a bike rack. We had done research ahead of time, and wanted to give a local business the dollars instead of ordering online etc, as the prices were all about the same. We asked for a specific model that we knew they sold and yes, it was the cheaper line. First were told they didn’t have the 4-​bike version in stock but could get it tomorrow, and then younger sales guy pipes up that that model is a «piece of crap» and for $ 50 more we can have a much better one. Question: if it’s a «piece of crap» why do you stock it? Then he shows us the options and fine, we decide we’ll go with the more expensive brand, mostly because it comes with a lock that we’d have to buy for the other one… then he goes back to the stock room to «see if they have it» and disappears. We waited for at least 15 minutes and not only did he not come back out, but the guy who appeared to be the store manager, who saw us waiting, didn’t ask if we needed more help or see where his salesman had gotten off to. So we left… and will give our money somewhere (anywhere!) else.

This is a review that will be difficult to write, but, I feel I have to, due to the level of service I received when purchasing my bikes and the compassion that was shown to me, shortly there after.
I purchased two Trek Bikes from here, one for me and one for my fiancée. The purchase experience was smooth and pleasurable; You couldn’t possibly ask for more! Once we purchased our bikes, my bike was ready in a few days, but hers it turned out, was on backorder for a month. Knowing that we had a trip and some rides planned, they gave my fiancée a loaner to use, until her bike came in. In hindsight, this allowed me to spend some quality time and some adventures with her, which now really means a lot to me and you will see why as I continue.
My fiancées bike came in early and we picked it up after only about two weeks. Again, the speed at which they were able to get her new bike to us, now means a lot too, as we were able to go on a few rides together, with her new bike. About two weeks after we picked up her new bike, my fiancée was in a tragic and fatal car accident.
After some time, I decided I would see if I could sell my fiancées bike back to Bicycle Planet. There was nobody I could see myself giving it to and it was very difficult to see. After explaining the circumstances to one of the store managers, they not only offered to take the bike back, they gave me a 100% refund on the bike, tax and the accessories we purchased for her.
Riding was a hobby we chose so we could spend a lot of additional time together, having a lot of fun. Returning her bike was an incredibly difficult experience. With compassion and kindness, they made the experience as painless as they possibly could. Bicycle Planet did NOT have to do what they did. These are good people!
I would have recommended Bicycle Planet solely on my purchase experience. After this experience, I can’t recommend them enough. If Bicycle Planet is a far drive for you to visit, trust me, they’re worth it. Like I said, they’re good people, and to me at least, that means something.

A big ups to Bicycle Planet as they totally are going to make a 7 year old in Austin TX super happy.
My friend in Austin, his daughter wanted this particular bike for her birthday. It happens to also be last years model so it’s not that easy to find. Bicycle Planet happened to have it in stock and I happened to live not near, but not too far away.
Per contracts with the bike manufacture, BP is not allowed to ship the bike anywhere. So Jimmy was awesome and let my friend pay for the bike over the phone so all I had to do was make the 1hr+ drive to pick it up.
When I got there, it was all ready and boxed up so I could ship it off easily.
Super A+++ great service! So when I personally am in the market for a bike for myself, I will now make the 1+hr drive out to BP and purchase it from them.

My very first experience with The Bicycle Planet was way, way back in 1998. I bought a Trek 6000 mountain bike. Still have it! :-)
This year we decided to buy «hybrids». (We’re getting a little older and thought the more upright riding position would be more comfortable.)
We visited a few different stores but ultimately ended up at The Bicycle Planet.
Jeremiah assisted us. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. We left with two Trek bicycles, one helmet, and a new bike rack (which he assembled and mounted to the vehicle for us).
Today we returned for another helmet and some gloves.
I should mention that they have bicycles, clothes, accessories of all kinds, bike racks, snacks (Clif Bar, GU Energy Gel), and even GoPro cameras. They also have mechanics on-​site.
Overall the experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend The Bicycle Planet — and would suggest speaking with Jeremiah in particular.

You have to go to this store — speak with ANYONE, they are all great. I have the pleasure of working with Jeremiah. I have bought 3 bikes from him and now a 4^th. I have purchased helmets, shorts and other accessories. Every time I go in even for a simple adjustment I feel like royalty by the treatment I receive. Evan is the mechanic who works on the bikes, tremendous fellow! Cannot say enough good things about these guys. Go there, Stop there and buy there you will not be dissappointed

I decided on my visit from California to see my Dad and sister that it was time to get my expanding belly back into a spin class. I needed to purchase a pair of bicycle shoe and my sister mentioned that Bicycle Planet was nearby. I had read some sketchy reviews on Unilocal and was hesitant to go. But necessity trumped my hesitancy. I was greeted by Josh who listened to what I wanted. He measured my feet and listened to the issues I have because of my rather long, narrow feet. He went into their storeroom and came back with three shoes to try on. Let me emphasize that during the time I was trying on these shoes, Josh listened to and answered all my questions. I found a pair that fit just right, shook Josh‘s hand and paid the man. I wouldn’t hesitate again making the choice to visit Bicycle Planet again. Oh, by the way, Josh gave me a 10% discount on top of the great service!

Bicycle Planet is the best bike shop around. I have bought many bikes and lots of accessories, and never have they steered me wrong… the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and consistent. You cannot go wrong at this shop.

Bicycle planet is awesome! I have been going there for almost twenty years. I recently bought a Colnago for myself and a Trek for my wife. The fitting service was great. We absolutely love our new bikes. Great people and service.

Rented a bike for the TD boro bike tour and couldn’t have been happier. The bike that I received looked brand new, was a Trek brand bike and from what I’ve heard is a top of the line bike company. When cycle enthusiasts are complimenting me on my rented bike, I know it must be good. Thanks again Bicycle Planet!

I used to go to brands but decided to get these guys a shot. The service was much better. I got my trek x-​cal during the spring sales and it has been great. Whenever I have questions about product or even just set up issues they take the time to help me. They are my go to bike shop now.

Rode the 5 Boro Bike Tour with a friend who rented a road bike from this place. The bike was brand new but at least 1 size too large for my friend. The seat height wasn’t properly adjusted and the seat clamp was loose. Can’t believe that a shop at this level can overlook all those issues when renting out a bike.

Came across Bicycle Planet totally by accident, I was coming to check out Lifetime Athletic Gym and Bicycle Planet is in the same plaza.
You have not been to a real bicycle store until you have been to Bicycle Planet.
The store is huge and has over 100 bicycles and tons of accessories as well. Plus a full repair shop on premises.
The gentleman who was helping me seemed to know everything there was about the different bikes.
He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
He told me what the differences were with each bike and about the different models available.
They have every kind of bike from starter to advanced, mountain to street and many many more.
Have bikes for every budget.
If you are in the market for a bicycle then the only place to go is Bicycle planet.

GREAT BIKE SHOP! The staff is extremely responsive and very helpful. Largest selection that I’ve seen on long island. The merchandise prices are great to. This will be our go to bike shop from now on!

This is my go-​to bike shop for both buying bikes (4 bikes for me and my kids in the last 2 years) and for service, even on a bike that wasn’t purchased there.
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. They shipped a bike I sold on eBay with very little effort or cost.
You may find a bike cheaper on the Internet, but unless you’re a bike expert, you need someone to help you.

They sold me mongooses back before they went on discount in toys r us. Not for me of course. They did great repair work too. This is a nice bike shop.

My husband just bought me a new bike for my birthday, and we received a wonderful education and evaluation as far as what type of bike would serve me best at The Bicycle Planet.
I have limited knowledge, and was very pleased with the way the gentleman listened and helped me formulate a good decision as far as the type of bicycle, brand, and accessories. He was honest and fair about what I might need, what I can do without for now, and what might be important down the line.
Though I haven’t even taken the bike out for it’s virgin ride, I am excited and feel confident that I made the right choice thanks to the salesman. He fit me to the bike, made all the adjustments and made sure to tell me they would stand behind the bike and accessories in the future to keep me happy. So far, who could ask for more?

I recently purchased a new bike there and was really disappointed with the service I received… the man I spoke to seemed to know nothing about the model I wanted (which I understood, not everyone knows EVERYTHING about bikes) but he then insisted that what I asked for is not what I wanted. He would not budge on what he was recommending to me. I left and came back a few days later where I was helped with someone who was a lot nicer and more knowledgeable and I did wind up purchasing a bike with his help but then, from there he insisted on accessories etc. that totaled up to about $ 200 while the bike was merely $ 500… I mean c’mon! Anyway, there aren’t much choices for bike places in my area so, I have to settle. What can ya do?
