Excelsior Investigations, L.L.C. is a security consulting firm that specializes in all types of corporate security precautions and high end confidential investigations. Excelsior employs current and former New York state bureau of municipal police certified agents that have a proven track record in various specialties in the Central New York law enforcement field. Excelsior is licensed and bonded through New York State.

History

Established in 2011.

Excelsior Investigations, L.L.C. was founded by Dennis P. Murphy with more than 26 years of experience in the law enforcement profession. The mission of Excelsior Investigations is to become the recognized leader in the industry for corporate security, executive protection, and employment background screening services.

Lieutenant D. P. Murphy is on the Command Staff as the Commanding Officer of the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) for the largest urban police department in Central New York and is tasked with directing his unit (of one sergeant and twelve officers) in addressing extreme violent criminal activity as it disrupted neighborhoods within the City of Syracuse.

Lt. Murphy was formerly assigned to the Special Investigations Division (SID) and was in charge of city detectives assigned to the Central New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (CNYDETF) and the New York State Organized Crime Task Force (NYSOCTF).

Lt. Murphy also instructed in the City of Syracuse Police Department Regional Police Academy as a New York State certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Mr. Murphy holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College, a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Empire State College (SUNY), and an Associate’s Degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from Onondaga Community College
