Ballew’s Hitch Truck & RV

I stopped in last week ten minutes before they closed not really expecting to get my electrical problem looked at, (because I was so late) but was surprised when the gentleman working, said: back your truck up and I’ll take a look. He not only looked, but fixed my problem. I was very grateful to him for staying late for me. No need to go anywhere else, this business is great! Very reasonable prices too! I highly recommend them!

I can’t thank Justin and Ray enough for saving our weekend camping trip!
My son just bought his first car, an Excursion capable of towing our travel trailer. He spent the week before our planned camping trip replacing the brakes, tires and doing other maintenance that was necessary. The last thing to do was check the hitch and get the trailer ready to tow. Unfortunately, the hitch was probably left in place since 2001 when the vehicle rolled out of the manufacturing plant. Needless to say, the pins were stuck tight and we were unable to adjust to accommodate our trailer. We tried everything we could to get them out so we could put a new hitch into the receiver with no luck. The lengths we had gone too were crazy and included a saw zall, a grinder, a hammer, and even the help of a crazy guy we met at the local auto parts store. (Not the best decision, I must admit).. Anyway, then we came to our senses and found Ballews. We called and they said we could bring it by for them to look at but they were super busy and wouldn’t have time to fix it then. We went by and they said that if the hitch doesn’t come off and the receiver needs to be replaced we would be looking at $ 1000 to replace due to excursion needs to have a ford receiver only and the difficulty of putting it on. But, they said they would take a quick look and see if they could get it off. We went inside and waited for only about 20 minutes and were super excited that they actually got it off! OMG! They literally saved us about $ 1000 and our weekend camping trip! I can’t thank them enough for taking the time to help us, even though they were sooooo busy! They will forever be the only place we ever call for anything hitch related and I highly recommend them to everyone! Justin and Ray… you guys are awesome, thank u soooo much!!!

Those of us who live in and around Tacoma don’t really have many options but to go to Ballew’s for trailer repairs as the market isn’t exactly saturated with businesses offering this type of service. Being well aware of the market situation the management at Ballew’s (especially the scrawny guy) makes it clear to anyone unfortunate enough to need their services that he is the boss and he does not need or want your business. But in the end he has the winning hand as he knows your choices are limited. Mind you a few years ago these guys were much much better with customer service. I guess back then they were a bit more eager to please.

Customer service was really good, and they were able to get me in same week even during the summer. By far the best price around. Hitch goes on this Friday, so stay tuned for further review.

I had one of the best customer service experiences of my life here. I called in a panic needing to have a hitch receiver installed ASAP, Uhaul refused me because I have quite a bit of rusting. Even though it was well after 3 and they were very busy, these guys listened and carved out time to look at my car. They didn’t have the receiver I needed, so they offered to build one on the spot and install it. They said «well this is something you need, and we can make it happen, so let’s get it done» They ended up having to work on it until well after their closing time-​the rust was pretty bad, and my back hatch is broken and doesn’t open (Yes, this means I was a turbo pain in the ass customer). After all this, my bank card didn’t work when I went to pay (had made some large purchases that day and hit my fraud protection limit). Through all this really Grade A, royal pain-​in-​the-​assness I threw at them, they were thorough and understanding and nice. They even fixed a couple little extra things just because they could. If you have any hitch needs, go here. Even if you don’t, pretend you do so you can have a little faith in humanity restored.
